crasher…anywhere between 50mins to 1.5 hrs. I'm 49, the wrong side of 14 stone, riding a coil sprung Hustler weighing about 32 lbs, aand I can get round in an hour. So if your younger, fitter, faster on a lighter bike, you should crack it in 40 mins 😉

If you get a map from the visitor center it has the waymarker post numbers on (you may be able to download/print one from their web site). That way you can go exploring off the fire roads, and whenever you come back onto a fire road, just checkout the nearest waymarker number with your map…….simples 😉

Grantway, just noticed your second reply to my Tesco light addy yesterday.
To be honest, it would'nt be worth the hassle to convert another set (too time consuming).
The only reason for sale, was the purchase of a Hope twin LED and a Deal Extreme torch which I have machined the flab off down to 150g now.

Here's the new slim DX light

superlight, I bought my current bike on the strength of an MBR Bike Test in 2007. They were all built-up with identical components to rule out any differences there. The test included a Turner 5 Spot, Ellsworth Epiphany, Orange 5 and Cove Hustler. The 5 Spot and Epiphany scored 8/10, the Hustler and Orange 5 scored 10/10. At the time I owned a 5 Spot and was very pleased with it. However,I was curious as to how good the Orange and Cove must be to achieve those scores. Not long after, I had the chance to test ride a Cove Hustler at Llandegla which I know very well, so could let loose without worrying about my test route. The result was the purchase of a Hustler (secondhand 2006 model frame) which I still ride every week, and enjoy as much now as the first ride.

I can't comment on the Epiphany, but I do own an Ellsworth Momnent, which I love. But still does'nt fulfill the Allmountain roll of the Hustler.

If considering weight and cost, the Vanilla R is a simple but effective and very light coil shock. Mainly due to the smaller body diameter, which allows it to take a smaller dia. spring. The likes of a Swinger or DHX use a 36mm dia. spring ,whereas the Vanilla uses a 32 dia. spring.

jackal, it may be worth considering a new Pushed RP23 from TFT. I bought a new Pushed RP23 from TFT last year for £330, When a std. RP23 was £295.

jenga….It may not be technical at 1 hr 15 for the red and 1hr 43 for the black. Try doing the red in under an hour, or the black under 1hr 20, then you start to realy enjoy it!!

I have come accross this when listing some old motocross magazines. If I chose the magzine/book catagory, the postage limit was £2.65. If I changed catagory to motorbike spares, I could choose any postage amount I liked. ebay make the largest wedge of their profit from the Final Value Fee, which does'nt include postage. So by keeping postage costs down, and thus peaople will bid more for an item, for which ebay gets a slice of the Final Value Fee. Hope this helps.

You could do Llandegla Red/Black then a lap of the blue. About 20 miles, and the faster you go, the more fun it is.

Why not buy a set of Hope Hoops with Stans Flow rims, less than £240 from Bike Outlet York, strip them and then rebuild them. That way, you get all the correct components at a great price, and you get to see the correct configuration (did I spell that right ?) of spokes etc.

Ellsworth Moment. 6" of travel and climbs very well too. Not had the joy of taking it to the Alps though.

Std. Rear QR is 10mm (not 9mm as stated above, std. front QR is 9mm) With a std. rear 135mm dropout, you can either run a QR or 10mm bolt-up/bolt through axle. For 12mm axle you would need a specific frame/swingarm to run it.

I would love to try a Cane Creek Double Barrel shock on my Ellsworth Moment. But £550 is a big wedge for a shock 😐

If you went the other way, you would have to make sure your frame could take the extra travel. ie. wheel or seat/chainstays don't clash with another part of your frame through over travel.

coffeeking……I use ebay quite a lot, and am aware of the fees. I was just warning those that might not be aware. I had the same frame on here and Pinkbike for less but it didn't sell, then put it on ebay at a higher price because of the charges…It Sold and I'm happy.

Seeing as there's plenty of interest in ebay here. Just a warning to people thinking of selling on there. Last week I sold my SX Trail frame for £495 on ebay. Very pleased as it was the BUY-IT-NOW price. However, after totting up the charges…….Advert £3…….Paypal fee for £495=£17…..THEN ebays Final Value Fee £40 =Total £60 to sell the frame.

I always bid in the last 15 seconds, the amount I willing to pay, thats if the item is still bellow that figure. If you bid early, you are only giving a figure for someone else to bid against.

I've got some of the silver ones. They seem to work OK. if you do buy them, bin the cheap battery's that come with them. Within weeks they had oozed acidy goo inside the unit, corroding all the contacts. Resulting in me having to find a small spring to repair the conact.
