YOU ARE SOMEBODY……..change your user name, go into your shed and look at your bikes, remember all the good things that happened on them. They are like old watches, get on one, wind it up…and have a great “TIME” again 😉

I’m amazed that BOATS and Byways can go through farms

The farms are the very reason they are there in the first place 😉

    They weren’t motoX bikes 🙄

They were road legal trail/enduro bikes 😉

I’d love to know what you think they’re made of then! Cheese?
Given that they rust I’d say that they are made of cast iron. Wikipedia seems to agree.

My comment was based on the fact that the troll seemed to think because the discs were made of cast iron, they wouldn’t warp 🙄

And yes cast iron does warp, even 4″ thick cast iron cylinder heads warp.

Brake discs don’t actually ‘warp’ – they’re made of cast iron.

    What a load of B”$*^cks 🙄

New flat pads on old uneven discs could cause hot spots when braking, which may have caused the discs to warp. Whatever the cause, I would get new pads and discs fitted at the same time 😉

If your asking for tips, do you really want your frame painting by you 😕

Cheers coomber….Frame is 19″, its not mint, due to having the odd chip and scratch from storage, and a bit of surface rust in places.

cynical-al….just had a look on retrobike, but it isn’t as straight forward as asking on here. Where have all the experts gone 😐 , when you don’t want advice on here, you get pages of it 😆

Gore Phantom….A wind stopper jacket/gilet. Probably the most worn jacket I have ever bought for cycling. Very worm on cold winter mornings, but when the sun comes out, or you get too warm, just remove the sleeves and slot them in the rear pockets provided, and finish your ride in a gilet….win win 8)

Depends on the quality of the oil. A cheap mineral oil might need to be run at 20/25:1, whereas a fully synthetic race 2 stroke oil could be run at 50:1 or leaner. Don’t make the mistake of thinking too much oil can do no harm, IT CAN ! it won’t flow as well through the tiny orifices in the small carbs like on strimmer’s, and can cause a weak mixture and seizing.

My secondhand strimmer has 20:1 molded into the filler cap, I run it on high quality racing 2 stroke @ 50:1 (for over 20 years) and its running as sweet as ever 😉

Inners make a big difference too. I always use stainless inners. There are a lot of plated inners around that look good new, but when the plating wears off with use/friction, corrosion sets in and they start to stick. Not a big difference in price, but a big difference in performance 8)

Pikes up front, but if you realy want coil forks, CRC are doing Mar RC3ti’s about half price 😉

Try 165 on one side and 180 on’t other, that way you will be able to feel the difference 😉

You need to get it dirty. Brian said he never had time to clean his bike, if he did, he would rather ride it. Looks nice though 😉
