What you need is a BB that can be re-lubed, with a protective disc to help keep crap out too 8)

twohats….I need the adjuster as I am about to sell my Lyriks. But I do adjust it quite often, normally down to temperature on the day. Recent riding has varied in temp from 3-23 degrees. More notcable as my Lyriks are air ones….hot day oil gets thinner, air pres. increases = too fast rebound, adjust rebound to compensate…simples 😉

I did lose it in Wales, but at Llandegla, not Cwmcawrn. Thanks anyway.

geeteee….I should have said, I know what size allen key it is. I need a new adjuster so that I can sell the forks, as they are mint otherwise. More than happy to make a donation for the adjuster. Many thanks, will mail you.

I am just considering the opposite, that is selling my DSLR gear, Which will be a bit less than £1k.

    Gear consists of:
a Fuji S5 Pro body (same as Nikon D200, but with a Fuji sensor)

Sigma 10-20mm EX F4-5.6 (Nikon fit) lens.

Sigma 18-200mm F3.4-6.3 DC OS (Nikon fit also).

The body has only had 1700 shutter actuations, and these are also the only use these two lenses have had. All are mint and with original boxes.

Pics available if required. Only selling as I don’t use it enough to keep this much gear sitting in my wardrobe.

Usually with springs, about 4 turns of preload are recommended for setting sag. If you still havn’t got your sag right within that range, then a different spring rate is required. It may be worth checking your shock manufacturers web site just to confirm. TF Tuned site has a spring calculator, which is very halpfull. 😉

I ordered a pair of the Ltd. edition Purple ones from Wiggle yesterday 😯

They are the 2010 model with 3 year warranty and no service stipulations.

    Down from £899 to £458

They still have 8 pairs left 😉

If you find the above mentioned spacer in the correct position, have a look at the push on end cap/spacer that goes on last at into the end of the hub (freehub end), this has a raised centre machined into it which contacts the inner (none moving) race of the outside bearing. This can wear/fret over time (see pic) to the point where the outer part of the spacer, when tightened under pressure, can touch the outer (moving) race of the bearing and the seal, causing at least drag, if not total seizure.

The difference between the inner and outer faces on this spacer is only 8 thousandths of an inch (0.2mm), and with it being alloy against a steel bearing, it can soon wear.

All is not lost though. A mate of mine had the same problem 18 mths ago, I stuck it in the lathe and re-machined the profile back to original ( minus about 10 thou ), its still going strong 😉

24mm here too, but make sure its a hex, not Bi-hex, as the hex socket is less likely to mark your nuts 😯

10wt will slow the rebound, but can be adjusted, so you should be able to find a sweet spot. If you went to 15wt you may run out of rebound adjustment.

If you do send it to TF, it may be worth getting him to remove the Platform/SPV valve, and fitting a custom shim stack to suit your weight. It will be far plusher and more reliable.

Not normal on an RP23 !, but you may have air in the damper, which, by opening the pro pedal could shift the air around the damper chamber and cause the movement !!! FWIW, I used LoCo for the 1st time recently for my RP23 service, Great service, and the shock now performs far better than when it went in.

Changed from Chris King to Hope, as the King tends to mark steerer tubes (as messiah says above). Still perfect after two years.

Very easy to get an Alpine below 32 lb, mine weighs 31.5 with pedals. No silly light bits….Hope hoops on Flow rims, Bonty XR4 tyres, Full XT drive train, 170 air Lyriks, Thomson post, Nuke Proof bars etc. Hope Mono m4’s 203/180. You could lighten almost all of those bits if budget allowed.

What sort of mile are you thinking of doing ? a motor like that could up your weekly fuel bill from say £30-50 to £100/150 😯

HT ones from Ready to Ride Cycles here (HT make the same pedals for Superstar). Ti spindles, only 295g. Far better than my old V12’s, as in thinner and far more comfortable. Simple to service and have been faultless over the last year.

I had the same fun with my 1st pair of 2.2 RQ’s about a year ago(Black Chilli none UST). They would blow up fine, then a pin hole would blow where the sidewall and tread meat. Happened many times , but eventually sealed. However, my second recent set, which have noticeably firmer sidewalls and weigh 50-60g more (still none UST) gave far fewer problems. I think Conti have listened to early complaints about weak sidewalls, and made a noticeable improvement.

I am currently considering Bonty XR4 2.2 teams instead of my older Rubber Queens (nearly half the price). Anybody had experience of both ?

Some of the pawl springs could have broken. Each pawl spring that breaks is 25% less noise. If all 4 go, the silence is bliss, but you will be pushing it home 😆

34+ years in factory production/maintenance. Of which the last 20 years have been making up to 25 million Can tops (thats Coke/Stella etc. cans) a DAY . I can’t say I love it, but the 4 on 4 off 12hr shifts give me plenty of spare time.
