I also got stung by him last year when he was selling RaceFace bars cheap (too cheap). I did a lot of Googling and found an old add with his moblie number on More dirt, number was 077369 53183

I did much the same as exupmonkey, and Paypal was refunded in less than 24 hrs.

The list bellow is what I came up with linked to either Danny or Sean Madden :-

    Jamie Reading
    Norman Pierce
    dhroberts on stw
    Madden96 on moredirt
    Madden-96 on Pinkbike
    UK-Harvey1992
cheeseytoes on MLG (major league gaming )
    dhjamie on stw
    madden96 on stw
    normanpiercemtb on Pinkbike
    imadden on The Tech Game

I think he/they live in Liverpool, as I saw a picture on one of his posts with him and a few mates getting on a train at Liverpool, presumably heading for Llandegla, which he states as being one of his favourite places to ride. He is also linked to a beauty salon in Liverpool, which may be where a partner works. He has used the salon email/Paypal address on some items he sold.

Hope this lot helps anybody still waiting on either a refund or bits from this little scrote 😈

From what I can make out the Stealth brakes are the same as the Race Evo with green bore caps, but fitted with STEALTH black caps instead. I have the Race Evo X2’s on my NP Mega with 180 rotors and 150 forks. I love the feel and predictability of them. Powerful enough to stop, with the sort of feel that lets you get the maximum braking without locking up. 🙂

Just put a Hope one on my Mega, from their pick & mix options. The upper is integrated, lower is normal. Lower is the H model, upper (I think ) is the #2 option.

Bit late on the thread, but to answer the original question. I have tried a Works Components 1.5 headset on a Nerve AM. To do so I machined the adapter below to accept a WC headset. This will only work with a std. 1 1/8″ steerer, which for me was ideal as I bought my Nerve AM as a frame only, and already had Revelation 150 Teams. The conversion worked spot-on. With the slacker front, it was a few mm lower at the front (7-8mm I think) which would equate to maybe 3mm at the BB, plus a very slight steepening of the seat tube. but I didn’t keep the frame long as I found out I could get a Mega frame on the Cycle to Work scheme 😀

Adapter is available for a tenner if anybody’s interested 😉

I have gone from a 2010 five which I didn’t rate compared to my long standing Alpine 160. I have put all my bits from the five ( 150 Revelation Teams ) onto New Mega frame ( 7.9 lb with shock, med) and love it. Some will say it needs 160 forks, but for the trail centre type blasting I like, I find it perfect. Puts the same sort of smile on my face, as when I first had a Cove Hustler. CRC where doing small Mega frames for £630 😀

The SRAM 10 spd links are re-usable 8) I have removed mine many times to clean the chain in a solvent bath, they click back together each time, just as they did from new 😉

A modified electrical crimper does the job perfect.

I’ve had one of those Seiko divers Kinetic watches for over 20 years, worn every day, and still keeps perfect time 😉

Built my Mega frame up with all the bits from my 2010 Orange five, which included Revelation 150 teams, 1×10 spd, Pro 2’s with Flows, Hope race Evo X2’s etc. Weighs in at 29.3 lb ( med frame & shock 7.9lbs ) and handles trail centre type riding superbly. 160-170 forks would be great for more DH/Alps type blasting, but I a more than pleased with the 150/150 balance. Only planned change will be a Fox RP23 in the near future. The RT3 is fine for most situations, but does get a bit out of its depth in fast rough going.

I’ve been lucky enough not to have many accidents over the last few years, but one that I did have left me with a split Giro Xen. It not only saved my skull, but also the services of an ambulance crew.

Got something that ticks most of your boxes http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/fs-ot-seat-alhambra-vw-sharan-19-tdi-6spd-7-seater-2002-87k-fsh-towbar-3 It would make an ideal people/bike carrier, remove the five rear seats (no tools required)and you have a van 😉

Try Dave Garland of Stendec, he has one on his own personal Mega. Plus he probably has more experience of CCDB’s than anyone else in the country.

Wait till after the weekend if you do contact him, as he’s up at Fort Bill fettling Danny Harts bike at the mo. 😉

A little spanner for adjusting my CCDB when I get round to fitting it to my new Mega. No sharp edges, and it only weighs 1g.

Put a bit more air in the neg chamber (5-10 psi) and it will pull the fork down a bit, also giving a plusher ride 😉

I am no expert, but from what I understand, the motor pulls the glider into the sky, then either you cut the motor or it runs out of juice. The prop blades fold back when gliding, they are thrown out with the force from the motor 😕

Sold my 2012 (Rose bike bargains) XT’s and bought (twice the price) Hope Evo Race X2’s, and am more than happy with them. YES the XT’s were powerful, BUT too much too soon, then when really going for it, they didn’t have any more to give, just a spongy feeling which turned out to be lever flex. The Hopes are far more linear in their application, more than powerful enough, and let you know when they are about to lock up. To sum it up, the XT’s feel like they were designed by a geek on a PC, whereas the Hope’s feel like they were designed by an engineer who rode bikes. Oh , and the XT’s were heavier than my old Mono M4’s. The Evo X2’s are super light.

Both good brakes, but one is more gooder than tother 8)

I use a Pendle which has slots for dropping the wheels into, so no marking of frame. It was for 4 bikes , but I cut it down to accept 2 bikes. The nature of its build allows it to be used for 1-4 bikes. Very quick to mount rack and bikes, with no damage to any bikes in 5 years use.

It could be Laurence who works in the bike shop, he’s responsible for some of the superb recent videos of Llandegla. Look up Laurence Crossman-Emms. I tried to do a linky but it didn’t work.

Dremel with polishing wheel and fine compound to take any high spots or burrs off, so they don’t damage the seals or bushes. It’s more important to remove the high spots than fill the low spots

I buy old Shimano XT sintered BR-M755 pads off ebay for £3-5 because they are obsolete (as a Shimano part) but identical fitting as Hope Mono M4. RRP was £14.95, but because not many people still run that old Shimano brake, they go for peanuts. Top quality at Aldi price 8)

Recently went from 2012 XT’s to Hope race evo X2’s, and am made up with them. Running 180 Air rotors, they are more than powerful enough with great linear modulation. You can feel whats happening right up to the point of wheel lock-up, and control it. The XT’s I found too grabby initially, the when pushing things a bit harder, they didn’t seem to have any more power, they felt spongy, which wasn’t for the need of bleeding, it was those tiny levers flexing when pulled hard. Another point worth noting if your a weight weenie, the XT’s were heavier than my old mono M4’s. The race evo X2’s are VERY light. 8)

HT2 seal against the top hat is a far better seal than you get in any 6805 bearing (just keep it lubed) All you have done there is turn a half decent HT2 BB into a crap Raceface one.

Also lucky enough to live within 20 mins from the place and love it. But it wasn’t kind to me today. My Ti railed Charge Spoon broke a rail at the start of the red, then while heading back to the cafe on the smooth fire road, my rear tyre split. Back tomorrow with spare saddle a repaired tyre for another blast 😀
