never ceases to amaze me how many people in companies (usually government bodies) purchase items with the utmost enthusiasm without doing due diligence, but then again if its not your own money…..

    a couple of years ago,

we had a five with a triple (m760), we thought we could get the black bash ring (that fits the m765) and fit it in lieu of the largest ring, thereby making a m765 out of a m760

the black bash ring fitted to the m765 would not fit the m760, and we were unable to machine the inner spider mating faces to do so

we ended up selling the m760 on ebay and bought a m765 from crc, as we wanted the bash protection

i’m also not sure if the centreline of the 2 chainrigs on the m765 is offset thereby aligning it centrally with the middle ring of the triple m760

hmmm, think nobeer has a point, if you are going to do this seriously, you need a separate road for your atv’s that’s not part of the red.
why would anybody waste fuel to come to the track, if its potentially just been wrecked by an atv for whatever reason.

as for the current red situation, once the sda roadshow has been and gone this weekend, who is managing the repairs and development for afters.

oh, and from experience, some of your staff’s attitude does actually suck.

having said that, good luck anyway, i thinks to make it pay, you will need it

be quick with the olive before the wire braid expands

its an art to get the olive on, i wouldnt recommend cutting to final length until you have mastered it, or if indeed if you do get the olive on before final length is cut, just cut the clear plastic sheath back to length you want, then slide the olive up, and cut the exposed braid to the length you want

    good luck

as above 823 with maxxi DH tyres, stans fluid, and a good compressor, sometimes had to use a tube to seat one side before removing it, re-valve and letting the compressor seat the other side, can be a messy job though

tapered head tube or 1 1/2″ parallel

at the upper end, its 2 for a taper head tube (1 1/8″) and 4 for a 1 1/2″ parallel

best to always measure the upper and lower headset cup, before ordering, if you have the opportunity

i have a 160 trc deville on my nomad, and yes, when its working its very very good, however, it went back to r53 after a few weeks, r53 wernt able to change any parts, because bos wouldn’t give them any, however, they did fix the problem.
done fort bill wc, tdbn, most of whw, and it climbs pretty good, so very satisfied, just this nagging reliability issue
oh and you dont need trc btw

not wanting to be smart, but the devil’s staircase is 20 odd miles short of FW, if you are going to do it, park at altnafeadh, push up devil’s staircase (30 mins) do the better natural downhill towards kinlockleven, but stop when you hit the fire road, turn back and push up what you’ve just come down then come down the devil’s staircase
if you go into kinlochleven you have a big fire road push up, which is a waste imho

check the dimensions of the bash spider against the recess on the crankarm,

i say this because if you have a slx triple, the slx bash ring wont fit in lieu of the big ring, you have to buy the slx double (this was true for 2011 anyway)

i know you put 2012 XT, but its always worth checking, as there are so many ways parts dont cross match

you can get specific front mechs for double rings, it maybe but i’m not certain, that the high stop cant be wound in far enough to take out the large ring

if you’ve bought i wouldnt worry, just keep it and try it, you can always change the grann later

agree with post above on rear cassette, just bear in mind when you are changing front and rear ratio’s your rear mech capcity

my deville’s were great for a couple of weeks after they were setup by a knowledgeable mate, 3 weeks later and suddenly the sag and compression had gone, 2 weeks away getting fixed, had lyriks before, kinda regret not getting lyriks again

i’m in Chatel the now, for my tuppence, is to be honest with your skill and equipment capability level.

the biggest skill in riding, is the assessment of what comes before you, and managing your ability to deal with it.

i think sometimes the equipment can forgive a lack of assessment/ability, but only for so long, especially in the types of terrain around here.

my own skill level has been found out in the last few days, in regard to understanding how different the trail conditions here can be each day, depending on the weather, luckily even though the bike and i are pretty bruised, i am still able to learn a small bit more.
