Without knowing whether you have kids etc..

    Tate St Ives
    National Maritime Museum (Falmouth)
    St Austell brewery
    Porthcurno Telegraph Museum
    National Trust places
Trago Mills (Liskeard version – it’s an ‘experience’)

Other than that, as Bruce says. Everything you would do anyway but wear waterproofs and stop in more cafes for tea and cake.

It also has more ‘green’ in it than ‘blue’ when you look at the RGB values, so it sounds like you win. I copied it into photoshop and got the values there, then googled it.

This is sort of fun, if you’re interested in colour perception (albeit affected by your monitor/device screen): http://www.colormunki.com/game/huetest_kiosk

Nice idea. Was it fun or was it just horrible?

I have a Brother MFC-J5910DW A3 inkjet thats been okay. Cheap ink but quite noisy and you have to fiddle about with the tray to swap between A3 and A4 (unless you buy a second tray).

Getting rid of one very similar to this at the moment – Brother MFC-J6510DW. It’s got an error code (76) and I don’t have time or patience to fix it. Selling for 99p at the mo plus postage/collection, if anyone is interested let me know.
We bought an Epson dual-tray to replace it – I’ve had an A4 Epson for at least 6 years now and it’s been faultless.

Personally I wouldn’t have a laser in the house unless I had a room with decent extract, due to the toner micro-dust hazard.

Volvo V60 R-Design D5 here. Only a few weeks in but it’s very nice and very quick (although the D5 isn’t available new any more). £30 VED for 215bhp which is incredible and 42mpg on our city/motorway runs with roof bars.

As a tenant renting a property which includes white goods, I wouldn’t expect to be without a washing machine for any more than a week, max. Going to the launderette wouldn’t be an acceptable solution for any longer period of time even if the landlord was paying the cost of the washes – there’s the inconvenience and loss of time to factor in too.

Academies have same admissions criteria dont they? Not sure what your point is.

Actually I think they are allowed to select a certain proportion of students based on their ‘specialism’ or on faith – will try to find a link. There have also been stories of academies using ‘soft’ techniques to select, e.g. lengthy, wordy admissions forms or social events for prospective parents – ways of ensuring they only get the nice middle class families to apply.

It’s ideological, pure and simple. Privatisation of the education system. And there’s no evidence that turning into an academy boosts school performance any more than the local authority putting in extra investment, e.g. if a school falls into ‘special measures’. My mum recently took slightly early retirement because her (good-performing) school was being bullied into a joint academy with a neighbouring, poor-performing school, against the wishes of the staff, governors and parents, and she’d simply had enough of the government’s interference.

Have emailed ‘Watt’ asking for a ‘holding deposit’ of £1000 to be paid by Western Union transfer. Tempted to give him the local police phone number as suggested above but I think that’d be a waste of their time – can’t imagine they would get involved.

Slowster has it. Regs are all about (in part) escape distances and protected routes. On that floor you need either a protected stair (one may be sufficient depending on number of people and usage) within a certain one-way escape distance from all areas of the building, or an alternative strategy which would probably include suppression as well as an advanced detection and warning system.
As a commercial premises there has to be a Fire Risk Assessment – first call would be to try and find this if you are concerned.

This is the relevant document if you want to delve into the actual regs: http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/buildingregulations/approveddocuments/partb/bcapproveddocumentsb/bcapproveddocbvol2#Download

But fire regs are a bit funny…there are different requirements for different types of building and they are subject to interpretation by the local Fire Officer in a way that seems to be different to the other Approved Documents.

I gave in and emailed them back (I hadn’t chosen the email option on gumtree so they had to send a text) but it’s now become clear it’s a scam! Wish I hadn’t given my email address away. I had addressed the sender as ‘Lauren’ – just got this reply:

    to me
Ok, i’m okay with the price However, does it have any history I should be aware of? and I will really appreciate if you can email more info and if possible more photos,i’m very kinda busy with my profession,so im sorry i will not be able to come look at it in person so will i not be disappointed in buying this ?

    Thanks
    watt.

Suggestions for how/if I should keep stringing them along?

Well spotted Jon…can’t believe I missed that. I guess it’s come through Gumtree’s automated obscuring thing. Still sounds a bit dodgy but maybe I’m being too judgmental.

Lloyds have been acceptable and it was easy to set up. Went into branch and filled out forms, done. Although that may have been because it was a new business, not a transfer.

What size jersey should I get for someone who is 6ft and fairly slim build? M?

I’ve mostly been prescribed Erythromycin in the passed but recently have been prescribed with Clarithromycin. Erythro used to do my guts in but that was about it, nothing serious though. Clarithro seems better on the stomach but last time I had some i could taste the stuff for hours after taking it – grimm.

That’s the stuff I couldn’t remember the name of. Didn’t get the nasty taste, luckily.

Yes and I don’t get on with Erythro. either. Last time I needed antibiotics (admittedly some years ago) they gave me something else, if only I could remember what it was. Had far fewer nasty side effects then Erythro.

Picking up a V60 D5 this weekend (used, couple of years old). It’s got the R-design kit so the interior is very nice, easily on a par with BMW/Audi. 215bhp, torquey, should realistically do 40-50mpg and incredibly, is in the £30/yr VED bracket.
More importantly it hasn’t got a badge and reputation that prevents other people from letting you out at junctions.

If you want a pre-built PC then it may be worth having a look at the Dell outlet. http://www.dell.com/uk/dfh/p/
Picked up an absolute beast of a Precision 7810 desktop (for work purposes) a couple of weeks ago with dual graphics cards, dual processors, 32gb ram etc for much less than it would cost to buy the bits separately. Supposedly it has a scratched/damaged case but we have yet to spot the damage. Delivery does take about 7-10 days though.

I developed PF but not from running – actually from a manual job pulling heavy loads around all day. Didn’t see a physio for ages and then I neglected to do the exercises properly for long enough so I still get twinges every so often, particularly if I wear shoes without adequate arch support. Learn from my mistakes!

I was at the Roundhouse – great gig, although we got there too late to get a decent spot in the centre and ended up off to one side so the sound wasn’t quite as spot on, still good though.
Couldn’t believe it at the end when we realised the projections were being done in real time – some skill there.

It would be a Unit in the semi circle on Queens street to maximise the student market. The students are all totally keen to buy Cakes for £2.80 a pop so must definitely be into decent wholesome grub at lunch if it fits in with their lifestyle and want to be seen in a funky cafe where the cool kids hang out.

Do you mean the crescent with the station in? Practically next door to that bakery? If I’m in Exeter I’d normally go to Boston TP, then the bakery if I didn’t like the look of the cakes in BTP. Cathedral rectory is also good..

From what you’ve said so far it sounds like there is a bit of conflict between wanting to provide things that sound like meals (i.e. you need to sit down and use cutlery to eat them) and things that sound like commuter snacks on the go. Can you realistically do both or would it better to focus on one aspect?

Signed (I work in Bristol even if I don’t live there).

“I find myself driving at 20 even in the 30s in residential areas away fron central Bristol now. It just feels like the right speed”
I’ve found this too since living in Brighton (also a 20mph limit on most roads). 30mph seems excessive now.

We use these bags and just flush them down the toilet.

    http://www.flushablepoobags.co.uk/flushable-poo-bags-1/
Are they approved by the water companies? Looks like an excellent solution. We’ve got an airtight tub in the garden and they go in there until there’s a few days worth and then it’s a trip to the nearest dog poo bin to dump, unless it’s rubbish day. It means the garden doesn’t smell but there is a risk of asphyxiation when you open the tub, especially in warm weather. Would much rather flush them away as they’re generated!

Surely this whole thread is a joke by a disgruntled Scotlander in response to the person who wanted to do the whole of Scotland in an afternoon.
