In, so the Campsite in Crans for 2 nights is settled then. Is there enough lift access for 2 nights worth in Verbier?. Without guides. Basically we are free from the Sunday to Thursday night inclusive. So we are open to ideas for anywhere in the Valais region or close to. What’s a must do??

Cheers for you feedback folks 😀

Ahh, thats a bit disappointing regards the campsites in Verbier. Or lack there of. I had found the one in Cran down by the lake so will probably go there. After morzine we have 5 nights when we plan to camp somewhere before Interlaken. So if spending a couple nights in Crans, where else do you all recommend? Chamonix is a possibility. Ideally though we will, from Morzine, go via Martigny along the valley and up n round to Interlaken.

cheers Munqe-chick. I would love to go with the chalet option, but it will just cost too much after Morzine. I have read a few of your comments in recent threads and it certainly looks like an incredible place and you speak very highly of it. We are only going for a couples day though. Going to visit a few resorts in the Valais region before we have a wind down few days in Interlaken…

Didn’t want to go for the cheapest. Was just looking for good deals. Price ain’t the issue, but if there’s a deal on it makes sense.

Ahh, yeah, i noticed that on one of the other pictures of yours. May give that a bash. May just use a solid rotor until i find somewhere to machine it.

its a 2008 im sure. the rivet heads rub off the frame mount. I used slightly larger cone washers to sort the extra couple mm of the 205mm rotor. I think a 200mm rotor is the option i may take…

ok, it would ascertain i have made a couple of faux pas…. firstly having a couple drams whilst doing bike maintenance and secondly the rotor is a 205mm hope floating which causes rubbing on the frame mount. Which is indeed a 200mm standard mount.

so, anyone want to swap a 205mm mono6 floating rotor for a 200mm rotor??

Is real easy to get between the 2. When you get to the top of the Pleney its actually sign posted. You can take a couple routes. The road route is simple, if our going to Les Gets to Morzine as its downhill 😀 The other way depends on what your riding….
The Pleney cover most of the main / busy routes, But at the opposite side from the Pleney is he Super Morzine lift. Definitely worth a trip that way. Takes you over to Les Linderattes. From there you have easy access to Chatel and Avoriaz trails. A must in my opinion. Also, if you fancy the challenge, its possible to take a few lifts over to Champery.

This will help with opening times on the lifts…..

Ive used Alptitude Morzine on a few occasions. Couldnt recommend them enough. Chalets have always been well kept with everything you need. Also a few of them have secure bike lock ups and bike washing facilities. Ben has always been very helpful. Trouble almost all of their properties are booked up. Alptitude Morzine

I guess the fact that more and more people are buying kit online. The online stores will always undercut the high street store. But online stores cant do servicing. So LBS are relying more on the servicing aspect and adjusting their cost in turn. To make a living. No excuse for poor work or blatant ridiculously priced inexpensive basics.

Doesnt sound like a problem, other than what you have noticed. The perspiration wont pass through jacket material and the depth of the rucsac strap. Wetting out occurs when the DWR (water repellent coating) on the face fabric wears off. Its designed to. When this wears off water/rain soaks into the face fabric, but not through the waterproof material itself. I.e. event, goretex etc. This will result a water barrier impeeding the perspiration management and you will get a damp inside to the jacket. Sweat wont make a difference realy as long as you care for it properly. Like using nikwax, as you have.
