I chanced it. I did quite fancy getting the heart rate monitor. But, I knew I was chancing it. To be honest, having looked at their website I will probably use them in the future. Some quite nice stuff at good prices. Cynically you could see it as crafty marketing. Likely not. Cest la vie.

Would love to go out late august. Friends can’t go this year 🙁 Anyone got a spare room / spot?

Been close a couple times. Very close. But all it took was a quality day out with friends and I realised how much I would miss it. I am a little worried about the move to Newcastle and riding opportunities there though…. 😐

I would be interested i long weekend options too. I have been to Morzine for the passed good few years and have had a truly amazing time. Yes it can be seen as bike parky etc etc, but guaranteed you will have a great time. Paris in February and sun holiday with the other half are threatening any Alps based trips this year….. BUT im not ruling out a mtb trip in Morzine and a road bike trip in the alps just yet…. Just need to find a way to keep the better half sweet. Jeezo, Paris could be expensive!!!! 😯 😐 8)

I would like to do this before it is too late. I’m all the way up in sunny soaked Dundee…. Would be my first time so if I went it’d be good to have a medic in the group 😆

😀 legend. To be honest, it was prompted by the enduro thread. But other, main reasons are that I’m stuck on a long, boring train journey and I’m hoping to do the Mega next year. Enduro seemed the easiest way to describe it. Looking for ideas / inspiration….

As above really. I believe the uk distributer is still a company called Dalesman. Very good company to deal with in my experience.

Cheers for all the info folks. Any info you have ianv would be greatly received. I’m off to Morzine/ les gets and the Valais region of Switzerland for a few weeks end of July. But cany wait that long. So my idea was a long weekend somewhere. Ideally a cheap easyjet flight to geneve and then a transfer somewhere. Tignes appealed due to the free lift pass. Friends have skied there and had a great time. I would be camping (i work in the outdoor industry so have all the gear I need). I will be taking the Spesh enduro with me. Would be nice to try a Canyon 😀

Anywhere else you would recommend? Long weekend. Thursday – Monday. Easyjet to geneve, transfer, camp…..

I’ve never rented in Morzine. But I have used the Torico bike shop quite a few times for bits n pieces. The guys are always very helpful.

Cheers for the replies gents. Unfortunately all recommendations seem to be a bit east from where’s she’s working. Steckhorn on the banks of the west, smaller part of Bodensee. Any more suggestions?

I have a couple pairs and find them very warm. Sometimes too warm. If I recall Blacks ad these at half price.

There are a lot of good points here. Trouble is everyone has a favourite or different ideas. I would +1 for the PDS area. Yes it can be busy at times, but the area is so big you dont really notice it as much when your on the trails. Which there are plenty to chose from, of all levels. We have been the passed few years in a decent sized group or varying abilities. From full-on Downhillers to the recreational xc rider. EVERYONE had a great time. If your with a bunch of mates the experience and laughs you have make the holiday. I have always fancied Bike Verbier as i only ever hear good things about it and folk on here are not easily pleased a lot of the time 🙂 But i would go back to PDS (Morzine in particular) in a heart beat.
I would definitely suggest booking a chalet however. I would very happily recommend Alptitude Morzine. Ben and the rest of them run a very good thing….
