Just do Morzine. If you’ve not been its definitely worth it and theres plenty of variation. Particularly if your up for planning a little bit more. Plus you’ll have access to the whole portes du soleil. Self catering chalet between 4 at that time of year will be quite cheap too.

    p.s. can i come?? 😆

Easy enough. Done it quite a few times from Dundee. Left Dundee at 7pm, over night drive to early ferry. Dover circa 6am ferry, left Calais circa 8am. In Morzine and having first pint in my mates bar by 5pm. Easy. Tolls? not that much really. circa £50 tops iirc. You look forward to it so much that the lack of sleep doesnt matter / isnt noticed 😉 4 friends, 2 driving, great laugh. Do it.

dual ply. minions front and back. if you can, optional mud tyres. if it rains, it rains. I found a wet scream front and minion rear was best for me.

STARTer for one. Was it a shop on Granger Street? Found the service hit or miss depending who you get. Would be an easy fix for them. Scott distributer is just up the road.

At the current price I’m giving the 45650b a bash. May use angle headset to slacken more. Will try without first.

I used Rossetti Holiday Park for the EWS. Not too bad. Showers / toilets ok. Staff very nice and helpful. Practically in the centre of Peebles. So 5 mins cycle to the main festival area. Or booked at Glentress plenty in advance.

There are quite a few companies on Facebook. Go to Morznet or similar and post the question. You’ll no doubt get a few replys.

    holy thread resurrection batman!

i’m split on what size to get. 6ft 2. Want the less gate like 18 but think the 20inch may be more sensible.

    Have one? what size?

    cheers

So, full refund was issued and I received this morning. Rob had been in contact a few times yesterday evening. I have to say i was a little wary and sceptical. But he sorted it. I would’ve expected contact from him if there was any issues, and not me having to chase him up. Absent minded, lax and maybe a touch lazy. But it’s now sorted.

As for Transporter. Some comments towards him were maybe a little unjust. He had emailed me re Rob. He was trying to help, and I think he actually did. He was pleasant to deal with.

    You live and learn.

Now, I’ve a day off. Popping the new Saints on the Mega then off for a spin. Undoubtedly over braked and will end up arse over tit…

Until I can get in contact with him I’ll refrain from making any rash comments.

    Why? Do you know anything?

Jesus. That’s for all the very detailed replies. It’s a new build and I don’t want to mess around with it too much. I have an outdoor socket and only want to power a lamp and maybe laptop. As money’s tight size buying the house I will prob just wait a while. Cheers folks.

Ok, sorry about the typo. Done in rush on phone. Don’t worry, I’ve slapped myself on the wrist on your behalf.

I don’t need anything fancy. Basic, nice and simple. No milk “frother” etc required.

It agree with Legend. When it’s wet in Morzine, it’s wet. I went for t Wetscream up front and narrow minion on the rear. Still have decent grip due to the side lugs. But the Wetscream gripped better.

Theres so much in Morzine if you explore a bit. We toured around a few times. Lila is ok, Tignes was worth the couple days, Verbier is good for few days (better guided and not a load of DH) and Crans Montana is a great place but only for a day. Theres not a lot there….

    Purely personal views though.

Some good suggestions there. Really like that Camyon but out of stock on my size. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t quite get round to liking Cannondale road bikes. Can’t deny the above are well priced! I like the Planet X bike above, but not 100% sure if I like the graphics. I know that’s bad, but it is a factor.

So, a few things transpired and i didnt get to Hamsterley after all. I did however drop my bike into Gravitate Cycles in the centre of Newcastle. I have to say, the service was really good. Cleary the owners / runners are very passionate about biking in general. Good knowledge and well delivered at the same time. No pushy sales pitches etc. I will definitely use this store again. Going to check out Hamsterley tomorrow which im very much looking forward to 😀

I’m new to still fairly new to Newcastle and havent been out yet. All my tools etc etc are all packed for another move. So want someome to pop on a new chain and gear cable. Ideally I’d like to drop it into a local bike shop and pick up Thursday on way to Hamsterley.
