Friend’s 306 had a rear door which wouldn’t open, never heard him have issues getting it through the mot, guess its fine as long as the front two open…

Was out yesterday, trails were pretty good, couple of muddy patches but seems to have cleared, just avoid the fireroad to surrey hill where they are doing the pipework its a mess… The teenagers were out in force on babymaker and the gulley yesterday, there is a ton of rubbish at babymaker again…

Any thought on organising a STW group ride now the weathers improving?

Changed while on a ride or at home? easy enough to do in the bike stand at home…
I don’t ever want to attempt it while out riding though…

Looks lovely in that colour… bigger front rotor, shorter stem and flat pedals and it’d be perfect IMO…

    Copypasta:

409 – Steel Steerer and solid crown, coil sprung, no external floodgate adjustment (Still adjustable with an allen key)
426 – Same as 409 with external floodgate adjustment
454 – Aluminium Steerer and hollow crown saving quite a bit of weight

Air U-Turn = Air Sprung with U-Turn function to allow travel adjustment
Coil U-Turn = Coil Sprung with U-Turn function to allow travel adjustment
Dual Air = Air Sprung with no travel adjustment (Saving weight by leaving out U-Turn gubbins inside)

The Air versions have been replaced by the Revelation forks for 09 so Pikes are a coil only fork now.

I’d be looking for 454 Air U-turn if you can find them, I like mine a lot…

Think is if you already own a car going to work with it isn’t going to cost you the inssurance on the top of it.

Saved £150 on my car insurance by stating that I wouldn’t be using it to travel to and from work…

Just buy 5 10’s you wont regret it…
Shimano shoes are good for grip as are vans with the waffle soles, neither really compare to the locked in effect of the 5 10s though IMO…

There will soon be a KS Cobra i900 in 27.2 I remember a thread on here where a few people were putting up info on the soon to be released 27.2 version, just can’t find the thread…

But found this which has more info on the Sette Ryde:

Everyones probably read them but the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy series of books are brilliant, read them quite a few times now, in fact stuff by Douglas Adams always puts me in a good mood, he was a good and funny writer…

Big fan of John Steinbeck too, Cannery row being my favorite, recently found a book of the diaries that he wrote on a trip to the Sea of Cortez with Ed Ricketts to study marine life that I found quite inspiring…

OK, I phrased that badly, didn’t say it to slate the iphone, always been a big fan of the ipod and not anti Apple, more to say i’m not looking for a phone with a ton of functions (gimmicky crap in my vocab) that hence costs a lot of money…
So probably not an Iphone then.. unless i can get one for about £100?

Its your money at the end of the day but you don’t see many bad reviews of Cannondale Prophets.

Haven’t seen any bad reviews of the Five either.

What I have seen is two Prophets broken clean through at the headtube, not seen that on a five (yet).

I’ve had tubeless for at least 5 years now, Mavic UST rims with michelin or maxxis UST tyres, run at low pressures sometimes and i’ve never had them burp…
Ride DH courses and other silly stuff regularly, i’ve had three punctures, pumped it up to about 60psi and carried on riding twice, the sealant has sealed puncture and i’ve been able to pump up a bit and carry on, most recent was because the o-ring had perished on the valve..

Does need to be done properly though, those tubeless kits seem a bit pointless, they usually weight more than a tyre and tube anyway….

Looks like the Transition Bottlerocket, headangle etc. is about the same too…
Bottlerocket was my last bike, good bike had Totems on it, did a year of whistler and North Shore riding on it in Canada with no problems…
