This was my first proper mountain bike circa 1987, well not this one but it was just like it.

    The original Raleigh Maverick

I suppose it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it, I only see scrap value myself. Am I missing something?

clearly the best Ti hardtail doesn't come off the peg… either that or they are all great

2 are rideable out of 5

Blue pig is ready to go as is the cross bike.
Muddy fox is nearly ready, just needs some cranks as I borrowed the ones on it for the cross bike.
Pugsley is still a work in progress.

Could also probably build another 2 with all the bits so maybe 2 out of 7 really.

About 20mins… agency work driving for a secure shredding company, turned up to work and the vehicle (7.5 tonner) wasn't roadworthy so I refused to drive it, they sent me away and someone else went out in it. Never did get asked to do that one again.

Just out of interest; how many men on here looked at those pics of the Oriental ladies above and thought 'hmmm…'?

Guilty especially the blonde in the middle… I think I probably would, how much are flights to Thailand?

This thread reminds me of this.. suit you sir

On a side note the wife used to work with a transexual in Sainsbury's and I felt really sorry for the her given the amount of abuse she regularly got off customers and some members of staff. She left in the end because of it.

I met the wife when I was 26… 3 kids a mortgage and a cat later… In hindsight I should have gone travelling.

FFS Do it, what are you waiting for, plenty of time for jobs and stuff when your old.

Nice vid (shame about the music)

Made me want to dig the old bic electric rock out and go for a blast, no sail so it's just a nice wall ornament at the moment.

The land rover is the same as the sonim and JCB phones, they look quite tough, I'll probably get one for biking when my Nokia 6something classic dies… 5 years old and I still havent managed to break it, although the numbers have worn off so it's a bit tricky to text.

Actually there's a few names in the start list… no Cavendish though but his mate Renshaw might get a few headbutts in so it could be interesting.

I reckon Wiggins will probably walk away with it.

I stand corrected on the british cycling thing then… I'll probably catch it on the interweb somewhere, don't watch the tv due to the barrage of adverts. I managed to get to Gateshead last year to see a stage finish, but the again my boy was racing in the junior support event so I had to be there.

Just a shame that cycling in this country doesn't have the support and backing that it gets in europe.

It looks a bit gash really compared to the tour de france, I've just had a look on the website and I can't seem to find a list of riders. Are any of the teams entering thier big names or is it just the also rans?

Also it's hardy a tour of britain more like a few short stages down the west of the country. Another lame effort by British Cycling!

what 40mpg said… I was just about to post the same thing, either that or some big pile founds which shouldn't be affected by the foilage too much.

*note this may increase the build costs slightly

I sold it to one of the girls she races with sorry, that was the 16" version. She's on the large 20" wheel model now although she's just turned 6 and is unusually tall for her age.

If you ring Isla they will run through the sizes with you based on height and inside leg measurment.

Ragley Ti… this is speculation on my part, I ride a Blue Pig with the same geometry so haven't actually ridden a Ti but if it's half as good as it's steel sibling it will be a winner.

Hardtail I'd be tempted to get a Ragley Ti, I've got the blue pig and it goes really well both up and down hills.

If you fancy a Chumba VF2 I'm selling a medium frame here

    Cycling..

Gee and Dan Atherton, bought a bike off Gee, there were both sound as a pound although Dan was easier to communicate with as he didn't use the words Rad and Gnarly as often.

Danny Hart as he lives in the same town, rode with him when he was about 13 and he didn't have the balls to ride down the really steep stuff on his XC bike, smoked him on my Turner 6pack… don't think I'd stand a chance now! He's an arrogant little **** and I still get the urge to knock him off when he's in the local skate park.

I used to dream of owning a yellow Muddy Fox Explorer ever since I rode one back in 1987. I had a Raleigh Maverick at the time… anyways a few years ago this frame popped up on eBay so it became mine for the measly sum of £10

one day I'll get round to finding some retro bits to make it more authentic, might even treat it to a respray, in the mean time it gets used for singlespeed pub duties… seen above on holiday in Spain

I like muddy puddles… oh and I allegedly have a dirty mind. It's also a kind of misspelt extension of my name Phil.

Also the stw mods wouldn't let me register the name Hitler, apparantly it was innapropriate.

It was listed on eBay but it came from here, might be worth giving him a ring.
