I’m not riding… trying to score some brownie points for next weekends all day session in the peaks

Went for a large and yes it was the review in Dirt that swayed me, done the 50mm stem and riser bars. Its exactly like they say. Only ever feels short of travel on very high speed rocky stuff but for most of what I do its great. Rode down some vertical stuff last thursday and it felt very capable and confident inspiring. Even managed a few jumps and drops, obviously I wouldn’t take it off any big stuff but for trail obstacles and popping it off natural jumps its great.

    I do like Syndicates 4X.

Ended up getting one of these in the end as it ticked all the boxes I was looking for…

Now with Black Reba 120 maxle’s, Sram drivetrain, XTR brakes and white ST bar end caps.

Just flicked through this thread and didn’t spot one of these. One of my favourite airfix kits when I was a kid.

    Also available in red…

Cannondale Rush, but not like they come out of the factory, stick a short stem and some risers on it.

Who got all the blue ones then? I’m left with white, suppose it will match the brake hoses. Thanks for sorting the login out Mark.

Paul Mckenna one works for me… basically you just eat what you want when you want but eat it slowly and stop when your full. Lost nearly 2 stone since xmas.

Sounds like you need a single pivot MrFC, I got sick of replacing bushes and bearing on specialized frames and replaced with a simple single pivot.

Are you factoring crash damege from marauding sheep in the frame life equation 😉

mibbe thats cos glentress (while fun) is pretty smooth, and much more fun on a race bike/rigid type thing than it is on a trail/big bouncy bike… anything longer travel takes more than it gives down any descent there.

couldn’t agree more, thats one of the reasons why I sold it

I nearly got overtaken by a niche rider on a rigid singlespeed at Glentress. I was on a Commencal MiniDH at the time so some of these niche riders must have some bike handling skills. I put it down to local knowledge and the fact I had never ridden that bit before. That and the fact a MiniDH is far to much bike for glentress anyway. I’m just making excuses now… err hangs head in shame.

10 miles and never yet, although I am thinking about it. Been thinking about it for about a year now but the train goes there anyway and is warm and dry.

    First ride report…

Brilliant, climbs like a mountain goat, ok like a mountain goat with a large bloke on its back but you get the idea. Jumps… yes it does jumps and with the shock set up firmish, 1/3 sag and 2 clicks of propedal it doesn’t soak up the jump and lets you get the wheels off the ground nice and easily. Singletrack…. woop woop, excellent again feels very light and flickable. Downhill, knock the propedal off and feels like more than the qouted 120mm travel, a little bit skittish compared to my old Commencal miniDH but that was to be expected, its certainly more fun and doesn’t steam roller everything in sight. Steep stuff, again very good with the short stem and risers, will be easier once my new 9″ drop remote seatpost arrives.

Overall I’m very impressed, in fact I could go as far as to say I’m lovin it like a fat kid loves cake.

Cannondale rush, its not so much of a marathon bike and more “all mountain” with pikes set at 120mm and a short stem fitted, here’s one I built last week.

My Dad reckons robins are the spirits of loved ones passed on or something.

Never heard that one before but he a was a friendly little fella, cant have been more than a foot away from me several times.

Nice pics FoxyChick but I think leaving breadcrumbs on the casette might be classed as cheating.
