Mine’s a Howdens one, housing association house so my guess is they put them in because they’re pretty durable? I’m certainly happy with mine, decent build quality and even came with a nice little cast iron pan stand thingy :)

Punch Bowl, Charles Bathhurst and DBC all within about 30 mins of Scotch Corner. For pitys sake dont actually stay at the scotch corner hotel ;)

I’m a retained duty system Crew Manager for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. In my opinion, if you can give it a shot then do so, i joined 6 years ago and its one of the best things i’ve ever done! Training requirements for us are roughly.. 2 weeks initial training, 1 week Operational Breathing Apparatus Wearer, 2 days Haz Mat, 2 days Compartment fire behaviour, 3 days RTC, 1 day Swift Water, and various other bits and bobs, untertaken over probably your first 2 yrs of service to gain competent firefighter status. Following that, theres all sorts of other options, driving, promotion courses to sit up front at incidents etc.

Its a pretty big commitment by any stretch, but the sense of team work and the slightly hokey sounding idea of your watch becoming and extended family makes it worthwhile, there can or should be some excellent banter in the back of pump on a well run station!

Call into your local station on a drill night and as to have a chat with the Watch Manager and they should fill you in.

Have a look at the adress line to see if its secure i think, ie https instead of http, you can change it to a secure connection in your settings bit on fb. That should cut out a lot of the hacking type stuff i think,

I’ve sat on Carrie Fishers knee, attended Bernard Cribbins birthday party, had tea with Michelle Dotrice (Betty in Some mothers do ave em no less :) ) and my uncle was a pastry chef for the Queen! Sadly i remember none of the events, making them fairly pointless!

Nope its a Firearms certificate where the onus is on the applicant to provide a valid reason and specify land to shoot on. Shotgun certificate it is the police who have to prove they have grounds for refusal, usually just anything involving a custodial sentance or assault type charges i think.
As others have said, it can be a fairly long winded process getting the ticket, you’ll need the forms filled out and referees, a secure cabinet and a visit by a police firearms officer who will give the cabinet a check over .
Different police forces vary in how difficuilt they make it to hold a certificate.

grum- which pub ya looking at matey? Black Bull and Kings Arms are currently fairly dire! (I live next to Bull). Bridge Inn or slightly further up dale are best bets, try the Charles Bathurst Inn or The Punch Bowl in Low Row, bit more expensive but very good!

Thanks for the suggestions folks. From looking throught the manual and talking to someone with the same camera, it seems like its because i was using the setting where it will take frames all the time the button is depressed. The setting to just take 3 frames is the way forward aparently….
How should i have uploaded that as a full size from Flickr by the way?? :oops:

Hmm i suspect it isn’t the sd card as indoor ones, odd one or two outside seem fine, im just unsure why its been over exposing the majority if stuff, almost to the point where some look like film negatives almost…

The water pipes between my house and the water main under the road have frozen solid so i’m on bottled water all over Christmas. Yorkshire Water came and looked, and fairly understandably said there nowt they can do, will just need to wait for the thaw :(
