Can I suggest you download ultimate boot cd (google it). Follow instructions to make bootable cd or memory stick.
Run the tools and test your hard disk and memory.
Sounds like one of the two may well have errors.

You can get plasterboard with a bonded insulation layer on the back in various thicknesses. Onto either an independent stud system if the walls are really wonk or on to alu channels / fixed to the wall. Integrated vapour control layer. Look on the british gypsum website for details.
I’ve specified it for barn conversion type projects before with success.

There’s a tool here that might be able to convert it to something paint friendly.
As you’ve no doubt found, RBG isn’t generally used in the paint industry (mixing light and mixing paint don’t work the same way!).
If you can get it to a RAL colour, then you may be in with more of a shout for getting paint of the right type mixed.

Neither. You want something that can cope with the high thermal movement of the lead. There are various propitiatory sealants that would do the job better and last longer.

Could be poor GPS reception, happens in trees, in steep valleys or could be a fault with the phone. My better half had a duff module in her iphone which ended up with rubbish wifi and gps performance. Diagnosed and replaced by apple store.

If you’re carrying the phone in a bag with lots of stuff this may also limit gps tracking.

Worth trying an alternative app to rule that out.

    Sticky motorised valve?
Take the head off and see if it turns when not connected to the valve (adjusting the thermostat to switch heating off / on) If it’s working, trying turning the valve manually.. it should move without much effort.

    I paid 7k for 4kW around 3 years ago. I’m sure it’s now cheaper.

18″ would be L/XL i suspect. The Commencal techbooks are still available online for 2009 onward if you want to compare sizes.

You need to meet the requirement of the Building Regulations. Part L1B specifically for conservation of fuel & power. To save you looking, you need to hit U value of 0.28 or lower for your wall construction.

Kingspan website has an insulation calculator which will give you a pretty decent idea of what thickness you’ll need for your wall construction. Assuming brick outer, medium density internal blockwork and partial cavity fill you’ll likely need at least 40mm of insulation to hit a U value of 0.28 (domestic extension target).

You need to read the copy of the lease that you signed and determine what you’re actually liable for. You should have a schedule of condition with pics showing the state of the place when you moved in. Assuming you don’t have a liability to renew.. only keep in a like condition then you may be able to get some of the costs removed. It all boils down to reading the lease.

The services of an experienced surveyor will probably save you a good chunk of that bill. It should very much be treated as a starting point and not what they actually think they’ll get from you.

ridethealps.com are based near there if you’re after a guide. They do lots of multi day group tours but may be able to put you in the direction of someone local if they can’t help themselves.

If your existing thermostat is a simple dumb unit with no permanent mains going to it then you’ll need to connect the twin core cable from the boiler to the common / call for heat terminals on the heat link. You’ll also need to provide the heat link with a mains power feed, taken from i’d suggest the fused spur or whatever that powers your boiler.
I have the wireless part of the next plugged into USB adaptor on a stand but as you’ve probably seen you can hard wire it to the 12v output from the heatlink.

I have a 3 year old Sony 42″.. the interface is so slow at startup and the apps are unreliable to the point of at times being useless. I had to use the nowtv box to access iplayer last night due to constant crashes.

Picture is lovely but i wouldn’t buy another Sony.

The Nest has two parts.. the wired unit which will switch your 240v feed. This in turn can supply 12v to run the control side of the nest, or you can use it with the supplied USB power supply.

The instructions are downloadable from the nest website, worth a look at them before you buy.

Well it’s a tenner more than ebuyer. It’s a TN panel so view angles won’t be great compared to an IPS or other panel technology. It’s not hugely fast for a TN panel so not the best choice for gaming if that’s your thing (but it’s fast enough that you’d probably never know)..

    Otherwise… it’s ok…

I’m not expecting free work. The architects tell me they will come up with proposals after initial meetings, I’d expect to be able to see those proposals.

However imagine Architect A comes up with “great idea!” but quotes you £2k. Architect B has no such idea.. but quotes you £1k..

The risk is that you convey “great idea” to Architect B, save yourself 1k and Architect A has wasted time he could have spent on a paying job..

We were lucky enough to have a couple flying around the area in the summer practising I think for the Dunkirk film. Used to having lots of light aircraft and gliders overhead as we’re near an airfield, but the spitfires makes a truly awesome noise.

We got a second hand Casio Celviano from ebay. While it’s not as good as a proper (ie, expensive) piano for sound it’s very good and so much easier for all the reasons already stated by others above.

I have one from here http://clee-cycles.co.uk/P51583/product and it works great.

You raise a valid point, but certainly not one that is unique to military charities. Why is RNLI not government funded? Why is decent cancer support and research not fully funded?

At the end of the day, funding from government may not equate your own priorities and that’d where everyone as an individual can make the different by donating to those charities that match their “interests”.

As an update.. also if you go with deeper rads (ie doubles rather than singles) then the pipe position will move outward from the wall. There may not be wiggle room on your pipes to cope with this (depending on how it’s been installed)

Rads really aren’t that expensive.. with a second hand one, unless you know it hasn’t been used for long and has had an inhibitor used in the system you’d never be sure on the internal corrosion level.

You’d also be limited by the power output of your boiler. You can only get heat out that you put in to the system.

If you have valves that will hold to each side of the rad however then it’s a pretty simple swap – assuming you get exactly the right size.

You may need to let your router know not to use the static ip of the WAP in its DHCP list so you don’t get a clash either by reserving it or ensuring the list used by DHCP starts at, eg, 192.168.1.10

You should get consent for anything that’s not a repair or like for like replacement. Certainly installing velux windows would be a real no no without consent.
You will as you suspect have issues selling without proof that consent was given and the risk of having to rip it out later and revert back if they won’t give it retrospectively.
How the discussion goes will depend on the personality. Some are fine, some are a nightmare. I’ve experienced both ends of the spectrum.
Be aware through that they may insist on specific style of Velux (conservation style) if that is more appropriate which may cost more or not be quite what you’d like if given a free choice.

It’s a problem that the fitters are probably just that, they don’t have a commercial disposal agreement to get rid of the waste. While they can’t legally take it to a household waste site, you could (assuming you have a vehicle).

If they added 50 quid to each job then they’d be out of work pretty quick as everyone goes on just price.

Check if you need party wall notice serving on your neighbours and if so that your architect is competent to handle this.

I have a box of tricks on my PV install that works out if I have spare capacity and dumps it to my immersion heater, was only a couple of hundred quid add on and means most of my summer water heating is done by solar, but without the added plumbing cost (and possibly needing a new tank) that “wet” solar water heating would entail.

Had a laptop that wouldn’t upgrade as some hidden partition wasn’t big enough. Was a nightmare getting it sorted but now it’s done it fine. Have delayed upgrading the desktop but will probably go for it as the Win7 install on it is fairly old.

Be warned that some software won’t work on Win 10. (Older versions of AutoCAD for example) – think that one is down to .net version issues.

Accurate distance to end of both ridges from fixed point (using laser) and then bearings and azimuth using theodolite.

That would allow you to do it without setting foot on their property..
Or much easier, as already mentioned.. dumpy level to get any difference in ground level between the two properties then laser from ground to ridge at the gable.
