Shamefully I haven’t been to a dentist in 10 years. I have no fillings and seem to have good teeth but not being an expert It’s very possible they are actually about ready to all drop out.

32, no fillings but I have receding gums on some of my teeth due, no doubt, to brushing too hard. Still, good news about the fillings.

I don’t think they will go up this year. I think we still have 12 months at the current level, certainly not before the general election.

I’ve tried all sorts on our gravel drive. Nothing worked. But I accidentally dropped an open full petrol can on our drive and although the stench of petrol was over powering for 3 days it kept the cat away for long enough that it found somewhere else to use. No cat crap on our drive for 3 months.

From a H&S point of view I can’t recommend pouring petrol on your drive but it worked regardless.

If channel 4 were doing another one of those ghastly Top 100 things of the 90’s that would be number 1

    1. VHS
    2. Windows 95
    3. Friends
    4. Badly superimposed images.

    Rarely watch live tv

This, but we ditched live TV altogether and no longer have a TV licence so only watch on demand/netflix. It’s great, the TV isn’t just ‘on’ anymore as we actively choose something to watch when we want to watch it.

How is someone filming their ride impacting on anyone else…at all?

I have a GoPro. I filmed a few rides but then the novelty wore off, so i just use it as a general video camera as it offers a good visual perspective. Much better than my old Hi8 video camera anyway 🙂

I think season 12 is when it started to go down hill for me. I’ve got all the box sets up to that point. I watched one of the very latest episodes the other day. Barely raised a smile.

I’ll swap you a marge simpson for the scratchy figure. We got two marge simpsons today 🙁

Edit: when I say we, I obviously mean my children….. That I will probably have one day.

I don’t know why but Millhouse exclaiming “uhhhh everything’s comin’ up Millhouse!” Always makes me laugh.

And whilst filming a radioactive man movie in Springfield and the crew at the last minute throwing a pair of goggles and pointing out to Rainier Wolfcastle that he is going to be engulfed by a sea of real acid “real acid?!” Sea of acid washes him away “THE GOGGLES, THEY DO NOTHING!!”

It was Zoe Bell who is a stunt woman in a few of Tarentino’s films, including stunt double for uma thurman in Kill Bill. She was meant to have a fairly detailed back story, leading to a shoot out with Django but it never got shot, let alone edited out.

If this was completely in isolation I could probably brush it off as being an idiot saying something stupid in a thoughtless moment. However, clarkson has got form for saying vile things time and time again and apologising for them and then continuing to say them.

It doesn’t take much digging to understand his political leanings or stand point. He’s an old fashioned boorish right winger who thinks the world is overly politically correct and that everyone other than white middle class middle aged men should be treated with contempt. I have no doubt that he used the N word in this context because he has nothing but contempt and ignorance towards other ethnic groups and thought it was funny to try and sneak it in but then thought better of it.

And having his other boorish, right wing, middle aged, white middle class mates stating that he’s not a racist is hardly drawing a line under it.

Regardless of this clip, does anyone actually think that Clarkson is a racist? Surely that’s the point isn’t it?

Or they don’t find him funny

Because it goes over their heads?

It’s a strange place Aston. I really like it there and spend 3 or 4 days a month riding the downhill runs. When it’s really really wet it’s not so bad and the grip levels come back. When it starts to dry it becomes lethal. Walking on it is hard enough.

It is a place that really improves your technical skills so when you go riding somewhere that actually has grip, it’s a real joy. Not that i’m an astonishingly skilled rider anyway.

Well, we’ve had our survey and more issues have come to light making this even more of a headache.

The survey discovered areas of single brick construction and the structural movement appears to be in the garage walls which is attached to the house. They surveyor also found out (and kindly called us to advise) that a previous attempt to sell the property earlier this year fell through due to the single skin walls.

Despite this we still like the house, for a variety of reasons, but I am angered that the estate agent mentioned nothing of the single skin walls or previous attempted sale so we have just forked out over a grand in survey and search fees potentially for nothing. Had they at least mentioned any of these issues we could have at least gone in a bit more tentatively or made an informed decision on the property from the start. Conversations today indicate to me that the EA know they are in the wrong as they are now trying to cover their backsides by stating they informed us of all of these issues at the start.

We have stated that we want the vendor to pay for the structural survey, which i don’t think is unreasonable, and take it from there. In the meantime we have instructed our solicitor to hold fire to save us forking out even more money for nothing. Not going well.

However if you do something you love you’ll never worry about how much you are paid.
obviously if what you are paid is not enough then that becomes complete b0110x mate

Bit of a sorry outlook you have. Is the notion of doing something you really adore making the accumulation of money and possessions completely unimportant lost on you?

Sound advice. Definitely noted. It’s only the second house i’ve bought and my current property is just a typical 70’s build so all these things are completely new to me.

I’ll see what the survey report says and see what happens.

I had an e-mail from exactly the same person as the OP.

“Let me know if you’re still interested in the purchase….
    Best Regards

    I ignored them…

Yep, likewise. I got the exact same thing on Saturday to one of my wanted ads.

I feel sorry for her. She undoubtably has esteem issues and probably isn’t making the best decisions in life but I couldn’t feel comfortable berating her and laughing at her.

I’d argue she needs someone with her genuine best interests at heart to intervene and offer some guidance.

The thing about Blur that people forget is that they had been going for years before the whole Britpop thing. Pulp and Blur were OK the rest were shite and Oasis especially so. So writes a Stourbridge Greebo.

Indeed, some of the Seymour stuff, which formed many of blurs B-sides are fantastic. They were a lot less refined during the Seymour days but still good.

Just got a pair today. They are lovely. Too nice to use really. I got the titanium axle versions so light as a feather. Huge platform and as thin a pedal i’ve ever seen.

I’ve had their nanos on my bikes for years with no trouble so expecting the same from these.

Good man. Much better approach. A good looking MX bike is all well and good but these are race weapons that take a beating. You’ll be much happier riding it knowing that it’s mechanically sound, bolts are tight and all the bearings, linkage etc are greased and running smooth.

Yeah, I think, looking at your last photos that your going to screw this up long term. Your painting and lacquering over things that shouldn’t be. Like the sight glass on the front brake reservoir!

It seems you’re basically just painting and then lacquering over the entire bike, which isn’t a restoration by my reckoning.

Amazing. Not only getting more airtime than I get on a full suspension 4k bike, they actually do it with style and control.

But, I can’t help but wish they had got full face helmets on, if such a thing exists for heads so small.

What are the bearings like in the headstock? Seems the perfect opportunity to replace whilst the front end is in bits.

I’m in the same unenviable position as you OP – stuck in Northants with bikes with some sort of suspension and off road tyres.

I spend a lot of my time at Aston Hill. Small but the DH trails are a good technical challenge. Woburn is ok, but I guess there is a lot of it i’m unaware of as I’m always surprised by the amount if people who rave about the place. I find after an hour there, i’m bored.

Chicksands is fine and the Ridgeway is only in Oxford and can be fun.

Yes, same here bearnecessities. After catching the trailer for the new ninja turtles film i immediately started singing the words to T.U.R.T.L.E Power.

I was 8 when that movie came out. Lodged in my brain ever since.

Yeah, the large is still small. If you were going for pure dirt jumping, slope style type riding then you’d get away with the small but for extra versatility and some climbing capability go for the large. I’m 6’3 so no matter what i was always going to opt for the large.
Can’t remember what the size of the seat tube is but as far as I can remember there isn’t any cable routing for a dropper but zip ties can resolve that. I’d double check on the dropper post thing with CRC or NP first.
