The CBT is very relaxed and the expectations of the instructor are minimal. He just wants to see that you can ride safely. No mega skills needed and certainly no barking of orders and criticism that tend to come with driving lessons.

I’m struggling with being an adult so this topic is a bone of contention. I’ve just turned 30 and suddenly feel like I should be making mature decisions and doing sensible things. I’ve already purchased a house, got married (no kids – not yet) and it’s recently dawned on me that I shouldn’t be doing or even contemplating silly child like things. I should be saving money, having one 2 week summer holiday abroad, pushing hard for promotion, earning more money, working more hours, eating sensible foods and buying a sensible car.

Makes me sad thinking about it though. 😥

Any adults here race BMX?

I’m tempted to give BMX racing a go (much missed childhood desire). I’m 30 now and can’t shake off the feeling that I’m going to look like an idiot – an unskilled 30 year old BMX racer who can’t ‘do the jumps’.

Or just give 4X a go instead?

Use imovie. Works great for this task. You can edit together, pan and zoom the photos and then put music from itunes over it. Then publish to Youtube or burn to DVD etc.

It’s very very simple to use. Self explanatory once you open imovie up.

I’ve got into a pattern of functioning on a few hours sleep. Bed at about half midnight, up at about 6.

If you want a full on Downhill Bike, get the Scalp. For the money you can’t go wrong. CRC have about 30% off the Scalp with DB shock at the moment.

The Aurum is just wrong in my opinion. The geometry isn’t right for a DH bike and it is not stable when it gets rough. Not a fan.

Had our Westie done last month, in the hope it may have calmed him down slightly. He’s a bit ‘wild’ I think it’s fair to say.

It’s not much fun at the moment. It runs well when slightly damp, gets blown out when it’s very dry and turns to ice when it’s very wet.

I literally use my iPod Touch to download music from itunes and then play that music into my ears via some earphones.

I realise I’m not using it to it’s full potential but that’s all I wanted it for.

My girlfriend hates mine.

I did attempt to go riding on Sunday as the sun was out. Arrived at my local spot and the relentless gloop that stuck to my feet before I’d even turned a peddle immediately put me off.

Foam pits have had a huge impact on the evolution of FMX.

Most likely they won’t care but they will probably ask you to remove it because wearing a buff as part of your normal day to day ‘look’ is a bit ****… like having long hair once you become a grownup with a proper job…

I’m assuming it will ‘go off’ when you crash. I would hope so. I’ve had many crashes but so far not one of them has resulted in an impact to my helmet/head.

They could be dicks. A couple of them might be moody, or be argumentative, or a bit overly sensitive and therefore a bit snappy. One of them might be a little arrogant or overtly loud when he has one too many beers. One of them might have an overwhelming sense of self importance or like the sound of his own voice too much.

So it is possible they are dicks, not collectively as a bunch of wingsuiters though.

If wearing a helmet was a big problem for cyclists then it would have some potential apart from the hefty price tag and single use nonsense and lack of potential mtb use and the fact it looks like it would cook your neck…

So essentially what we have here is no solution to a problem that doesn’t exist. Brilliant.

ok who’s black on here? I know John Terry is an idiot, but bear in mind the strength of the words he used in meaning. Its VERY offensive to a black person and goes very, very deep and way back historically. Its highly offensive, and totally unacceptable for a caucasian/white person to refer to a black person in that way, provoked or not.

Looking at it, I think he’s genuinely crashed and momentarily hooked up the rear wheel on the tree which has slowed/stopped him for long enough mid fall to give the ‘thumbs up’.

I didn’t get my driving licence until I was 28. I was quite happy without one but the constant nagging and feeling that I was somehow barely human for daring not to be a car driver by the other-halfs parents finally got to me.
