Banned games consoles? That’s such a bizarre concept. Surely there must be something in place to un-ban them for situations like this?

@ op jelious a girl rides better than you?

I’m a fan of manon carpenter but my race times are consistently faster than hers in the British downhill champs 🙄

And it’s not her fault the video is nonsensical pretentious garbage.

I’m currently having the same problem. Black mould no less forming on the wall corners and edges.

This ludicrous, ideologically-driven policy is already having some fairly perverse effects. In Wigan for example, the only housing stock available is 2 and 3 bedroom council houses. So people are being forced to downsize to flats. But the only flats available are in the private rented sector, which is considerably more expensive. I expect this is the case with an awful lot of local authorities

So now the housing benefit is having to cover the increased private rents. So this ridiculously ill-conceived policy, apparently designed to save money, is going to send the housing benefit bill souring once again. But hey ho – the (tory voting?) private landlords will be making plenty.

This was never really about saving money, its just about further demonising, then punishing those who have the misfortune to be poor. And redistributing taxpayers money into the pockets of those who already have plenty

Post a picture of a Tory tarmacing over a poor person please Binners.

It also brushed over the various stories surrounding the making of psycho which I was expecting. It was enjoyable but it should have been a bit grittier. Hitchcock was notoriously mean and vindictive when making his films. None more so than when making Psycho.

    I concur with meh.

I keep mine tidy and one of my biggest bugbears are people who park all over them when they are wet turning them into muddy rutty messes.

I’ve had words with one of or neighbours over it and they now use their drive to park their cars… Who’d have thought of such a crazy concept.

Pretty much my original point… ironically

Not really. I chose the iPad after trying out countless others. The others I tried fell short so please tell me what is conclusively better for the money?

There are though much better products available for the money

My iPhone 5 camera is actually astonishingly good. I use it more than my 650D

And looks even better viewing it on my retina display 😉

People are generally stupid and will buy into what they are told to.

Why is Xfactor etc so popular ?

So people don’t actually like using their iPads, but Apple say they are good so we are utterly brainwashed into believing they actually are good?

It isn’t a particularly good camera

It actually is. Not canon 5d good, but still good.

Love my iPad. It’s more or less replaced my desktop entirely. Can’t fault it. I paid for mine though, maybe I’m looking for the best in a piece of technology that I contributed nothing towards.

I think we should tke something up instead. spend 40 days and nights learning a new skill and then come good friday you can say you learned something new. I think I might call this period ‘Borrowed’ as you might have to borrow something like a guitar to practice your new skill

    I like this. I’m in.

I like it, it’s just a toy to me but it’s a fun toy. Editing’s time consuming, you’ve got to enjoy it really.

It’s definitely the right tool for the job you want to do anyway. Don’t get concerned over quality of edits or footage… Some people are idiots over this and think everyone else’s edits are for their enjoyment. Mine are for my enjoyment, and for my mates sometimes, if anyone else likes them then that’s a bonus but if they don’t I could not care less. It’s like going over somebody’s family photos and criticising them for poor composition!

Exactly. If its a tool for recording and keeping moments and memories of things you’ve done etc then the go pro is the perfect no fuss tool for the job. And with its near panoramic view it will nearly always give you an interesting and useable shot.

I take your point, but I do so tire of “origin movies”. Having the first movie as a standalone action flick is a good move I think; exploring the character would make for a good sequel.

I agree but some insight into his psychology could have added a bit more dimension although that clearly wasn’t the film they were trying to make here.

Thanks. The thing with owning a go pro is that you find yourself with tons of footage and once you start piecing it together you can end up with a nice little edit. That one was really just a load of scrap footage that I didn’t want to delete. Turned out to be a nice little memento in the end..

I can’t say enough good things about them. I’m pretty sure you’ll be pleased with it if you got one.

My only real criticism was the lack of exploration into Dredd himself. He’s an interesting character with a rich history and is ultimately a psychotic fascist. Would have liked a bit more of a peer into him.

I don’t find any issues with the mounts. Got a selection of them and find it very straight forward swapping them over. I use it as a handheld point and shoot, sometimes without the screen and you nearly always end up with a great shot.

This was a little edit of some stuff we did last year. Watch it in 1080 HD to give you a true idea of how good the image is…

I use my go pro for filming everything. All the outdoor pursuit we do, places we go and then put together little edits.

Like the marketing blurb says, it is very versatile and it does give you a great looking image. I don’t think you’d regret buying one plus if you’re filming activity based stuff you’ll never have to worry about it, mine certainly seems to be indestructable.

Doesn’t matter if it falls or not, he’s no longer looking at it but at his children.

This. That was the point and the ethos behind the film. It didn’t matter if it fell or not.

I’d always take a ‘complaint’ from an established forum member more seriously than someone who signs up solely to complain.

Maybe that’s Evans ethos as well.

This was read at my grandads funeral and I find it such a perfect little poem.

    Remember Me:
To the living, I am gone.
To the sorrowful, I will never return.
To the angry, I was cheated,
But to the happy, I am at peace,
And to the faithful, I have never left.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore, gazing at a beautiful sea – remember me.
As you look in awe at a mighty forest and its grand majesty – remember me.
As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity – remember me.
Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, your memories of the times we loved,
the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never be gone.

Actually scratch that. WE have the key, because we have the ballot papers. And half of us are too stupid or greedy to realise what we can do.

I agree entirely with your sentiments but I’d appreciate a little bit more advice on what I should do with my ballot paper to instigate the change.

but i think there are much more engaging films from all over the place– films with humanity…proper dark twisted stuff, films to make you think, challenge your perceptions– don’t recall any from hollywood ..

That probably used to be true but I think that’s an unfair criticism of some modern Hollywood ‘blockbusters’. There have been some surprising gems coming out of Hollywood in recent years and I think at last the big US studios are waking up to the fact that audiences do like to be challenged and don’t need spoon feeding.

And the Batman films – saw the first Tim Burton/Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson one but not any of the others.
Which ones are worth a go?
How do they all fit together?

Watch Batman Returns then move straight onto the Nolan reboots starting with Batman begins

I didn’t see any of the Star Wars films until about 5 years ago when I was 25. I can’t say I feel like I missed out much. Saw Oliver! For the first time last week. I tragically only vaguely knew the story, never read, watched or listened to any version of it anywhere before. Glad I finally took the time to watch it.
