Buy some anti-allergy tablets (antihistamines), take one a day for 5- 7 days. Say goodbye to cough.

The tablets won’t help and coughs tend to go in that time anyway right?!

I just use cough sweets which help stop coughing outbursts. Most coughs just have to run their course.

The tablets will work and not all coughs just ‘go’. Often a cold will leave you with a dry cough that can linger for weeks and weeks. Antihistamines will suppress your lungs sensitivity and will stop the cough completely after a few days. My own doctors advice and works.

    – don’t use them if your cough is productive however. You need to let your body do its thing.

It was going well up until the point they paired up with Disney.

Wow, this really is depressing. Who can we blame for this weather? It just seems so futile without being able to direct anger towards someone.

My father-in-law is getting the brunt of my anger as he once said he didn’t really like the hot weather and was more of a winter fan.

I’m amazed you’ve got near enough a full build for 200 quid, particularly with a redline frame. Good work.

    200 quid! Shrewd buyer! 😉

I found (when I ride my kids bmxs!) that I have a tendancy to almost flip the front up. I am sure I would get over that in time but it all felt too small (being 6ft).

I know what you mean, I’m 6’3 and was worried about that but having that longer TT makes a world of difference.

I thought that too. Trying to justify spending a grand on a BMX bike was difficult but I managed to get over it 😀 I’m so glad I did though. So much fun and really satisfying when you start picking up all the little skills and nuances at the track plus they look so bloody cool.

Be nice when it’s finished xiphon. I just got a redline flight XXL full build as well.

I was surprised at how easy and difficult in equal measure bmx racing was. I found the twitchyness and super rigid feel hard to get on with (being used to big bouncy bikes normally) and dreaded hitting a jump at speed but I just pedalled hard at it to get myself up enough speed where I knew I would clear it and hoped for the best. It was so easy to jump, I was shocked. I immediately felt like I could fling th bike around in the air. It just pivoted effortlessly on my feet, great fun.

Tried a cruiser. Didn’t like it at all, plus they’re ugly.

At the ripe old age of 30 I’ve bought my first (race) BMX and I’m absolutely loving it. Bmx tracks actually ride well in the wet and nailing a jump for the first time is a joy to behold. I only wish I’d started this years ago.

Yeah, it’s fun but its bloody weighty. I’d happily buy one as a mini downhill type bike but as a do-it-all bike I’d get bored and tired pretty quickly.

It’s very stable and smooth and tons of rear end grip but not so good for pedalling.

My condolences and sympathies to you and his family. A terribly tragic and harrowing thing to go through. I wish you the very best.

It is a tough thing to go through and no doubt there will be times when you think you’ll be haunted by it for the rest of your life, which in itself is a terrible thing to consider but I can assure you that those feelings will pass, and while you will never forget it will soon get much better. If you do need someone to chat to in confidence or just email then please get in touch with me. I’m a clinical psychologist and sadly my work has meant I have experienced the very same sort of events that you have. I will only be too glad to lend an ear and help to make sense of things for you.

    Best wishes.

The hero 3 silver is still bloody good. I can’t imagine you’d be upset you didn’t get the black edition. In fact the go pro 2 is also a great piece of kit for the gadget nut.

It’s a nonsense. Modern karting does not breed the type of racer that senna used to be. He simply would not have been part of modern F1.

    fervouredimage

I think Senna would have done it, but done it differently.

Senna would have walked away from this era of the sport altogether. It’s not the same F1 that existed in Senna’s era and it’s not one Senna would have been a part of or been able to exist in.

I’m not really keen on heated or angry debate (certainly not on a forum) and I’m far from being a political animal, so from that point of view I enjoyed watching the debates between TJ and friends. I admired his determination and inability to back down no matter how many pounced on him.

Geo is so shit on any DH bike that any real pedalling is just grim

I never said anything about pedalling. I certainly won’t be doing any of that but most of what the British isles has to offer in terms of going down fast does not require a world cup standard of bike.

You don’t need a downhill specific bike to race downhill anyway.

That much is true but whilst competing in the BDS for the past 5 years I’ve always been glad of a full on DH machine. Not competing at that level anymore so no need for it but I don’t think I can part ways with it. If I can just make it a little more ‘playful’ I’ll be much happier about keeping it.

Your dog has a child’s face?

Yes, we’re playing fetch with it.

DH bikes aren’t crap uphill etc. cos of the weight!

I know. Maybe I’m just trying to make the bike look less ‘dickheadish’ when I just roll up to some mediocre trails with it. It could clearly go the other way though.

I can’t bring myself to sell it. I spent a fortune on building it up and it’s only 10 months old with about 2 hours of actual riding time on it (such is the nature of Downhill).

Incidentally, I would never dream of riding it uphill in any sort of formation but I just wanted to put a bit more spring into it. I’m probably barking up the wrong tree with the SC forks idea.

I suppose I naively thought he wouldn’t attack it as he very much falls under the soft and daft category plus I had him (I Thought) tightly pulled on the lead to stop him actually making contact with it but he lunged and that was that. Too late.

That’s a coincidence – I was taking my favourite ‘dancing moles’ out for a walk the other day, and left them to practice in the woods whilst I procured some truffles (they look like they are fighting when they dance, but in fact it’s a modern variation of a spanish tango).

I’m still looking for the lead male, as without him the whole troupe are useless.

    Haven’t seen him have you?

He wasn’t wearing a sombrero was he?

fervouredimage – point taken. Please excuse me on this occasion as I’m a wee bit excited about having a new hound

You’re excused 😀 . Looks like you’ve got some fun times ahead.

This. You wanted to ‘see what it would make of it’? You thought they’d make friends and play?

Yes. It’s the shock more than the guilt I think.

Lovely dog but this is like when my sister in law sends thank you cards on behalf of her 1 year old son

“Thank you for my first birthday present. It fits perfectly but mummy says it would have been better off being a size larger so I could get more than 2 months out of it but you’d know this if you had kids yourself. I had a lovely party, loads of my friends turned up, we played some games and mummy got pretty wasted. I also smacked Emily in the face because she was close enough for me to reach and I’ve recently become interested in biting people. Mummy tells me not to bite people but given her ‘habits’ she’s hardly in a position to point out my faults. Haven’t seen daddy for a while but mummy says he’s very busy making me a little brother or sister with the bitch from next door.

Thanks again for the present – future note: clothes aren’t really my thing.
    Best regards,

    Your nephew,
    Joel.”

terriers were designed to do exactly what it did, dont feel guilty, be proud your dog is a real dog…. set up your own pest control company and put it on the payroll, the world of tax free dog food and writing off any dog costs against the company tax awaits

Goes without saying I’ve already done that. Guilty or not, if there’s money to be made….

No, he’s only one and was on his lead and I thought I’d got him tightly enough on the lead to stop him grabbing it or getting his teeth near it but sadly not tight enough.

Very good first hour then tapers off to a very disappointing end. Worth watching though if you haven’t seen it. I certainly couldn’t watch it again.

I do feel for the guy. He’s built a beautiful home in a lovely spot for his family for the fraction of the cost of a box on an estate. But there in lies the issue. Why do we tolerate him and not everyone else who wants a better life?

    Agreed.

I am a little split though. I can’t really admire him, all he has done is ignore the rules to suit his own needs. We could all do that but I’m sure the regulars on here would be quick to lambast anyone who had a ‘don what you want’ mentality.

Personally I feel that it’s right for them to pull it down because you can’t pick and choose which rules and regs you wish to follow and quite simply it’s not fair on anyone else who does it by the book, but I agree entirely with the sentiment echoed by somafunk, you can’t do a bloody thing anymore, we’re all stifled, boxed in, compartmentalised and the notion that you can do your own thing, independently has all but gone.

It’s just the saturated ground that’s bugging me. Don’t mind it being cold or grey but so much snow and rain this winter has just turn the ground everywhere to mush. I can’t step outside without sinking into the ground. My lawn is a sorry sight and the trails are in an awful mess. They’ll soon dry out with a few days of sunshine but its hard to see that at this point.
