Chris Barrie, aka Arnold Rimmer used to do a lot of the voices for Spitting Image.

    As did Steve Coogan.

Yeah, I guess it can be a little intimidating in places but nothing terrifying by any means. It rides well in the wet and dry and it is proper mountain biking territory in my opinion.

Definitely wear a full facer though.

Addicted to peanut M&M’S at the mo..

Yep, peanut M&M’S are my biggest weakness. I remember a time when one of those big sharing bags would last me a couple of days, occasional small handfuls every now and again. Now i just open a bag, 15 minutes, all gone.

I don’t know. Perhaps that is why I posted the question in the first place.

How do you get through a day?

Everything is much cooler than road racing.

You look comfortable in the air in that pic so you’ve overcome the first hurdle – confidence. A full facer will not only be obviously safer it will inspire a little extra confidence in you too. As others have said, ditch the clips and stick some grippy wide profile flats on instead.

Too old for it really but far better to just get over myself and do something I want to do than not.

In geography I think. Maybe history. Either way I wasn’t paying attention but as I was 11 at the time I was only struck by the significance of it due to seeing the 6th formers in tears.

    Does IQ = clever though?

I suspect that it is a flawed test.

In any case “cleverness” is relative so it really depends who you are talking to / interacting with.

Very true. IQ in isolation has little bearing but certainly in my experience being socially and emotionally intellectual can and does have a detrimental effect on mental well being.

I think being smart just lends itself to cynicism which ultimately will only make you unhappy. I find those who are bubbly, cheery and naive far better company generally. I don’t think of myself as being particularly smart but I do think I am tuned in to things and therefore have a natural cynicism. I’m not as happy as I would like to be for that very reason.

press animate and sit backup and watch the Jetstream sort itself out over the next week or so, and then the Azores high will need to build and we might even get a normal summer, with a little rain, dull days and some lovely balmy summer days, sunsets to ride into and the like.

    I don’t know you but I know that I love you. 😉

I’ll just have a small one (takes 3 and sneaks back to desk).

as far back as 2000 scientists argued that climate change would lead to heavy snow occasionally returning and causing chaos.

Hasn’t that always been the case? Hardly a bold prediction.

I predict that we’ll have surprisingly heavy rainfall at times during the summer.

I’ve got one right between my eyes. Can’t really see it yet but it bloody hurts. I’m resisting the urge to start squeezing or pressing it.

did he allow his followers free will, enabling them to interpret as their human brains saw fit?

So god gives the illusion of free will? Is he a Tory?

No, scratching the surface will do nicely.

Scratching the surface is all you can do with something so thin and flimsy.

Emergent Service Worker here. Clearly I listen to the wrong genre of music…

Only a very high earner could appreciate such a thing as Jazz.

I had one from DHL that was coming down from Liverpool to me here in northants. After 3 days it was at a sorting station in Birmingham with note stating ‘delivered to wrong depot’. I checked a day later to see it had then gone down south to the ‘correct’ depot in Exeter to then be delivered back further up north to me in northants 2 days later. Sometimes it’s just better not to know.

Now you could deny all this – you could say that physics is wrong. But to do so while using a computer that relies on quantum electrodynamics to work is ridiculous.

Biblical top trumps. Quantum Electrodynamics beats god on logic…. And everything else.

No-one can work out why my BP is a bit high when i’m fairly fit.

BP can be hereditary and isn’t always linked to lifestyle/diet. Mine is/has always been high despite good diet, good fitness, none drinker/smoker etc but high BP runs throughout my dads side of the family. After having blood tests, ECG after ECG.

Snobbishness is rampant amongst the insecure.

Certainly in my experience, that is absolutely the case.

Class is irrelevant and used by lazy people to justify their poor life choices.

    Very true

Wealth is not an indicator of intellect.

The snobby insecure lazy sorts would say otherwise.

Very difficult to get an accurate self reading of BP and likewise getting singular readings at the docs means little (white coat syndrome).

Why would you go there (anywhere) with that attitude?

I’m in a similar boat at the minute. I have a 6 month old Nukeproof scalp with the unbelievable cane creek DB shock bolted on it but in the 6 months I’ve owned it I’ve used it twice and now I don’t race anymore there is zero point in me owning it so as painful as it will be to see it go, go it must. Plan is to try and swap it for a beefy burly short travel slope style type bike. After riding the YT play last week I realised that for proper fun on the UK’s fairly tame downhills this is the sort of bike that wins.

Did you “have to” listen to it because you failed to ask them to turn it down ?

What’s this crazy world you speak of whereby people communicate with one another… in person, face-to-face?! What if the person you are communicating with doesn’t approve of what you are saying/requesting? They might reject it or shun it, or even be a bit funny with you about it.

No, better to talk about it over a forum where the responses can literally be ignored.
