Yes mine was about that as there were non in my colour in stock. Strangely enough Black maxel but in 16″.

It would appear Orange powder coat when they have enough of a particular colour to make a decent run, which is a sensible way of carrying on in my book.

Steel will cope better than Alumininium to be fair. Buy steel, frame saver inside before building up, and just ensure you wash and if you are fussy wax the exterior on a regular basis.

The downfall of any commuting bike is lack of basic maintenance and cleaning. Keep on top of it and it will perform better no matter what the material it is made out of.

If you are set on a pistol for plinking type use I can recommend the Umarex CO2s, I have had a Barretta 92fs and a Walther CP88, very well engineered.

Mrs F made me get rid of mine together with a various pest control rigs when our nippers came along. Which I figured was fair enough.

I am pretty sure I have a nice Gamo Compact target pistol knocking about in the shed, must dig it out when she is out. 😈

actually I’m not sure about that statement, have I been dreadfully insulted and should I have my second call upon this young ferrity chap and demand satisfaction?

No insult intended Tazz, unless of course you have recently bought a Five. I was merely refering to your ability to see past the norm’, the status quo, the run of t’mill etc

However if satisfaction is required, the choice of weapon lies with me and I therefore intend to recreate the fabled duel between Otto Von Bismark and Rudolf Virchow of the 1860s. The weapons being pork sausauges, one laced with roundworm!

Perfect no downs for either then, looks like it’s down to a coin toss!

The Doninators are in stock so they have that going in their favour and they also dont have a machined sidewall which is a pet hate of mine when running disks.

    cheers again chaps

Mrs F and I have been to Sorrento a couple of times and visited Pompeii on both occasions as it is that big. Herculaneum as others have said is smaller but miles better preserved. Don’t miss out on either as I believe their funding is under threat.

Vesuvio is OK but don’t expect anything to spectacular at the top. Etna is always more fun.

Don’t write Naples off, it’s a great city with loads to see and isn’t that scary. At least not as scary as wandering around Palermo at night looking for a tabacchi.

    link to KM on RB

There is one on Retrobike at the moment but for that money I would maybe want a later one. Looks tidy enough though.

Personally having two Surlys already and having flogged my Swift, I would go with a Swift. Nothing against the Surlys as they are ace but the Swift was really very very nice.

I bought my middle one a Specialized Hotwalk back in Feb. I was looking for a Islabike Rothan but started looking a little late (whoops)and expected to be able to buy them very much off the shelf but not the case. After frantic ringing round LBS I managed to get my hands on a Hotwalk and to be honest I am very pleased with it (as is he). The only thing it’s short of compared to the Rothan is the brake but that isn’t a biggie.

He has taken to the balance bike a lot better than his older brother to a normal tiddlers bike with stabilisers. They also fight like cat and dog as to who is going to ride it.

Kid ehh, I love ’em but couldn’t eat a full one!

I concur with wwaswas large and xtra large frames just look odd, small medium frames (even 29ers) are more photogenic in my opinion.

Whaddya expect, it’s farming country most of it, gonna be flat init.

Whereas Yorkshire and all that has bumps.. and sheep.

ehhh doesn’t having sheep constitute farming nowadays or is this just collecting?

I should have kept my gob shut called it a ringer and the gone ans bought it. Its only up the road from me!.

This would make a nice single speeder with carbon forks and some lightweight kit on it.

I had a Treklein attitude for a while, still a nice bike but not a patch on the real thing

Here is a Pulse of the same sort of age

same frame stripped from the rear 😯

I am still convinced it is a Klein but a Pulse not an Attitude or even worse something else compltley. The Pulse was the budget Klein frame so isnt as fandangly built as the Attitude

as stated above the valuation carried out by your Surveyor will give you a proper indication of what its worth not what the agent thinks they can sell it for.

Paying over the odds at the moment isnt an option unless you are a cash buyer as no lender is going to get into a situation of negative equity the way the market is.

If I recall correctly later Attitudes of this age with top routed cables had they funny shaped headtube, which this doesnt. Defo a Klein though, chainstays, rear drop outs etc all Kelinesque

fair enough youngun. Bike building isnt rocket science and picking the bits is half the fun. It is a good learning curve building it up from scratch as you learn how to maintain it as well at the same time. But if you arent sure probably better getting something ready built.

How about this? Orange 222 15″ £150 posted needs a spring but they are cheap enough second hand.

defo under the laquer, I had a pair spayed to match my swift frame when I had it and the painter advised leaving them on rather than sanding back. Always showed through though.

Second-hand would be sensible avoiding depreciation if you decided dh isn’t for you.

Anyway shameless plug – here is a starter for ten (actually One hundred and fifty!)

You’re right, its not. I must have missed that one. Its just as bad though!

Please explain, I’ve got one and it’s ace. Why is it a trail warriors saddle?

BTW these bikes are awesome – more please!

+1 on New Order’s Substance. And maybe even Technique

Yes t’was difficult to choose, perhaps the only way Substance could have been made better would have been including Fine Time off Technique. But that would be impossible as Substance predates Technique by 2 years

My Yorkshire lass made a little more palateable with some of Lancashires finest from someone called Hope, whoever she is.

Not a Black and Gold but a Five Pro in black, I had a look at the Black and Gold in Leisure Lakes a few weeks ago and it reminded me of a JPS Norton

BAe Warton is not so far from my house so we are regularly treated to the test pilots trying to pull the wings off the Typhoon.

On a side note for some reason there is a Lightening parked up in a back garden behind my nearest petrol station, rather beautiful in a Cold War technology way. They were a very noisy beast when in the air.
