    Yep. Looking forward to it!

I'll be on a Minion/High Roller combo here. Seeing as most of the timed sections are downhill, getting a flat would suck balls.

GW – yeah, I know! It actually feels pretty good though – it's the forks – they're long for the travel – the 06 ones were 40mm shorter!!

I could, I'm messing about with loads of smallish files though so will be using an FTP client, cheers for the link though – looks useful.

    Dude

    Sweet

    I love mine!

    Built up with 2006 66RCs and a 38t ring.

Now with Avid Codes and a PUSHed shock.

Yeah, currently on old inner tube but always comes unwound after a bit, seemingly no matter how many zip ties!

I may be becoming a tart though. Damn.

Anyone got any experience of this stuff? Looks good but can't really tell how thick it is. Is it enough to stop the metal slap for more than a few rides?

Glad to see the police have been decent about this.

That bloke sounds like a right gimp. If you do see him again, ask him what it's like to have a really small willy.

Excellent. Perhaps these people can maybe interact with 'the real world' for a while.

Twitter really is a massive pile of horse sh1t.

I questioned him on the pic and got the response:

Reported it too. Still there, worryingly.

Ah nice one. The online shop was rather poorly stocked last time I looked. Cheers.

I'm never going to hear the end of this am I?

    OK, OK!

I was using the Santa Cruz uk site where you go to the dealers section and they give you a list of bike shops. Not helpful.

    Ta!

Running Pikes on a Blur XC is just daft IMO

I wanted a 120mm coil fork with a bolt-through that doesn't have Bomber issues, need serviced every 15 hours. This was what I came up with.

I wanted a shortish travel frame that I could razz on the downhills but wasn't too heavy, as I can't afford a race bike. Seemed to fit the bill nicely and would handle TransWales, TransScotland and the odd Merida.

That's less than half an inch difference anyway

My point was that it stills feels more balanced with a longer fork.

Second the Orange ST4 suggestion too. Heard good things about them!

I'm currently using a Blur XC (Alu, not carbon) with coil Pikes on it wound down to 120mm. It's awesome.

Using a PUSHed Fox RP3 and the VPP linkage, it feels like a 5-inch travel at the back when it actually only has 115mm. I tried it with the forks at 100mm and it was all wrong. So I understand where you're coming from.

Blur 4X? Might be a bit heavy though…

Hard to see from the pics, but our EUCC man Tom has snapped 2. This one went at the top tube-seat tube weld:

Ha yeah, the proposal thing is the obvious choice.

Just having a look at the options!

Cheers for that link woody. Yeah, the websites for this sort of thing are a bloomin’ nightmare.

    Keep ’em coming!

Check the lower shock bushing isn’t worn out and that the bolts that hold that part of the assembly together aren’t loose.

Not after last year. It was a joke.

Taking a week off work and paying through the nose for non-existent facilities, awful campsites, destroying my bike, wrecking my tent and dealing with that absolute bell-end of a campsite owner and his nightmare wife in Builth Wells? No chance. I’ve done the TransWales and TransScotland before and it was ok, but the organisation was always a wee bit shoddy. Last year the weather was enough to break the whole infrastructure. Not good.

Oh and picking up the Campylobactor bacterium and spending the next 2 weeks on the pan with hot tea pouring out of my bum wasn’t really much banter either.

    Entered the TransProvence instead.

    Grump grump.

    Good luck folks!

bigsi, I had this problem – wasn’t tightening when allening both ends.

Turned out I’d snapped the central shaft bolt in half. Rubbish.

    New one from Jungle required!
