    2011 ones are 150mm/130mm
    2010 ones are 140mm

Think that’s the only difference apart from dial colours etc.

Not tried air ones, but the coil ones are pretty light already.

Been running a 2010 set of RC3 Ti coil ones for about 6 months not. Totally faultless, just keep getting better as they bed in.

Also got a 150mm set (2011) for my other bike, also perfect so far.

Agree on the documentation, but when you don’t have to touch them for 3 years and they’re easy to set up, who cares?

The site was fubarred for weeks last year, they had to re-issue the entries open date again.

I hope you like riding down fire roads, by the way….

Buy it quick! They have to sell it to you at that price, don’t they?

    tricky – no they don’t….

Had this on my Pikes but I now realise I don’t miss it!

    2011 (150mm version)

    or the 2010 (140mm version):

Got one of each on my bikes – awesome forks. Light as has a Ti coil spring, damping is excellent (better than coil Pikes they replaced). Plush, feel great and have a 3-year NO SERVICE warranty. So no fannying about with seals and oil for a while.

Bloomin’ amazing. Ti coil so plush and light, damping is spot on and with a 3-year no-service warrantly, you’ll easily save the £75 over budget on servicing costs alone.

No lockout, that’s the only thing..

I love mine so much I now have 2 pairs!

    Go on…

    Marzocchi 44 RC3 Ti.

Coil, but light as it’s Titanium. 3 year no-service warranty. Plush, damping is spot on.

    Do it!

    Marzocchi 44 RC3.

    2010 ones are 140mm, 2011 ones are 150/130mm.

Coil, super-plush, damping better than my Pikes, light, 3 year warranty with no servicing. Got 2 sets myself, loving them both!

Not really – I was concerned about this as well. Perhaps very slightly if you really, really hammer them but 99% of the time, no!

Go on, you know you want to….

GEDA – I had coil Pikes previously and I reckon the 44 RC3 Ti are better damped – the Pikes were excellent but could get out of their depth on fast hard successive hits, the Bombers cope with it a lot better.

Foxy – Coil sprung Bombers aint heavy any more!

Aye, not much data yet I suspect.

Meanwhile, back in the land of reason, Marzocchi are doing awesome forks that are cheaper, similar weight, work amazingly well (I reckon better than Fox) and have a 3 year warranty with NO SERVICE STIPULATIONS.

    Good Shizzle

Sounds like a real mountain bike product to me. No “we’ve brought out a newer more expensive version to fix a design fault we’ve been denying for ages” from Marzocchi.

    Rant rant rant!

Had a set of 44 RC3 Tis for a while now – awesome so far.

Just keep getting better the more they are ridden! Like bombers of old – plush, active, but better damped so not troubled by fast hits and a lot lighter too.

3 year no-service warranty too. Bargain.

    Just bought my second set.

As excalibur said – as plush as Bombers of old, but more controlled over fast hits where the old HSCV damping would be out of depth.

Dirt Magazine have been raving about the 44RC3 and 55 RC3. Singletrack review here:

Previously ran coil Pikes which were great, but now running Marzocchi 44RC3s. These are in a different league.

Absolutely flawless. Coil + light + 3 year no service warranty = win.

Been looking for a black one of these in 30.0 and can’t see them anywhere.

Only Chromag ones have the brass insert that feels so nice. Mmmmm…..

    Cheap on Wiggle.

Been running this for a while – flawless. 3 year no-service-stipulations warranty too. Winner.

Been running some new 44 RC3s – AWESOME.

Simple coil fork – just works. Adjusters make sense, super-plush. And damping is spot on – doesn't get fussed by fast repeated hits like bombers of old.

And warranty is 3 years with no service stipulations. Can't fault them.

    DO IT!

For the record, I have long legs in proportion to my torso! 6'2" and riding a large Nicolai. Any larger frame would be way too long in the top tube.

    People are different sizes!

    Cheers for the info people.

Ah nice. I hadn't seen the 425mm version of the Gravity Dropper.

    And a 9" drop!!! That's madness!

    Cheers folks!

Yeah, it's a coil fork with an air preload top-up.

OK, if there's only one compression adjuster, then that's cool.

    Cheers!

    OK cool.

I was under the impression that it had separate low speed and high speed compression adjust but maybe I'm confused. Descriptions aren't that clear!

All my adjusters are on the right leg though. One compression on bottom and rebound and air preload on top.

Sorry, just decoded this – a common fault with Pikes is the damping cartridge leaks into the lower chamber and reduces travel – sounds like the problem you described.

    Ignore my non-helpful previous post!

Think you only have to put in 15ml in lowers – never heard of putting more in the upper section.

Service vid here – same as Boxxers:

I'll most likely be doing this on a Nicolai full-bouncer that weighs in about 30lbs…

Only other option is a V-braked hardtail with only a big ring… No chance.

I think I have one of these at home…

However, at work just now and off on holiday tonight. Can you wait a week?!

Can you find a pic online anywhere of the exact ones you need to make sure the ones I have are correct?

If they fit, you can have 'em for the price of postage.

geetee – here you go. This is in middle travel setting – 130mm. Options are 120/ 133/ 146 mm.

And yes, I'm a lanky beanpole!
