    Can’t remember, a few £100 I think.

Got snapped up fairly quick, if you pardon the pun!

I had a Blur XC crack in exactly the same place, but it was a US e-bay purchase so no warranty for me. It was also about 3 years old.

Seems to be a weak point – also having the bearings changed 3 or 4 times tends to weaken that general area. The shop noticed the crack when they were doing mine – Sold the front end and shock on and bought a Nicolai!

Still miss the Blur though – top bike.

    What Helius is it?

I have an AC and the geometry doesn’t change with the travel.

    Had this problem with mine:

    Technical and Maintenance Support

The cap at the top of the lower post can be turned to adjust this. Give it a try!

Good stuff folks – pleased to see figures slightly more sensible than the prices I was getting back!

Interesting – cheers for that shredder. I suspected as much but good to hear from the horse’s mouth so to speak.

paul – that’s what I’m thinking – I can live without a ‘feeling of quality’ for a five grand saving!

Thanks for the tips guys – keep it coming!

Currently leaning towards the non-transporter option, though I would love one!

Gordy – did you and Ewan say anything like ‘maxxis maxxis maxxis’ by any chance?

And some top-class fannying about from Ewan there…

Nice! Not been on there for a while – didn;t realise they had Ordnance Survey ones up there now too. Cheers for that!

All the above suggestions jack up the BB though – this slackens things off and drops it slightly…

The rotor man was mate of ours Oli – still not sure how it happened but he still put in a 1:41ish lap – good lad!

Can’t believe the top 2 guys were in about 1:22, that’s just mad!

    Absolutely brilliant event!

Course was awesome, some proper bonkers muddy descents, tough climbs and flat-out sections. Course slightly longer than last year with added gnar… Managed a 1.34 and proper tired now…

Banter was top on course and atmosphere was great.

Hats off to the organisers, great series!

Er, ok, on mine the bite point moves in as well with the lever.

So if I set the lever so it’s in comfortable reach of the bar, under braking, the levers pull to the bars, even with the bite point fully would out.

They’ve been freshly bled by a decent shop, I suggested that there’s not enough fluid in the system but they were topped up to max….

Sh1t the bed – that is absolutely sickening – very lucky that nobody was killed. Hope they send him down for a long, long time.

    – 3 year no-service warranty (i.e. NO maintenance)
    – awesome plush coil performance
    – Ti coil so not heavy either

Got 2 sets of these, both been flawless.

    Do it!

    Hi Smuttie,

There was a lot more fire road than I was expecting! And I mean down the way! I think the problem is that the event has got too big to route down the good tech trails so for a lot you’re hammering down fire roads or ski pistes!

We ended up sacking off the route and just jumping down interesting-looking singletracks at the side that looked like they should end at the same place. Much better!

If you don’t wear body armour to ride fire roads in the UK, why would you in France?!

    Have a look here:

    http://www.forestry.gov.uk/pdf/7stanesglentressinnerleithen.pdf/$FILE/7stanesglentressinnerleithen.pdf

Do XC climb to marker 10
Keep going up on track, not down marked XC route.
Double back and up when meet DH track just above the ‘R’ of Matador on map.
Left at fire road, past the road gap, then ride/push up the push-up track.

20.40 here – pretty happy with that.

Cheers to all involved – awesome course, well organised, no timing disasters…. And good craic with the other competitors!

I know this isn’t too helpful but, I’ve yet to see a Crank Bros product that doesn’t break into two pieces/fail/cause injury when used in anger.

    So….

Gravity Dropper. Very happy with mine.

Hope you get it fixed though – sounds like warranty claim is the best bet.
