There is some great riding to be had outside of the better known areas in Canada. I rode some fantastic trails around the Niagra escarpment area when I went a few years ago. I was lucky in that my Canadian mate led out so I’d also say aim for getting a guide.

I dug out the old ronhills last wkend during a trip to the parentals place in Suffolk (yes I took a bike)…sexually virile I certainly didn’t look, even my 7 yr old asked what I was wearing in a WTF kinda way! …..I wouldn’t mind but I’m fit as **** me!

Oh, no, you’re alright fenred! That isn’t the half of it, either. I’m also wondering whether I should get a 650b front, or just get some of the Ragley carbon 15mm forks so I can use the wheels I’ve got on the PA. And then what tensioning device, should I bother with one of those eccentric bottom brackets for normal shells? decals or no decals. thinking no decals and a Geoff Moorhouse headbadge – then do I have the logo indented with a polished background, or inverted? etc etc.

Please, please stop!!! I REALLY need some sleep tonight and this isn’t going to help!!!!! *Sits in corner of room with fingers in ears gently rocking and sobbing* :|

Is there enough tension in the cable?

Some 100 quid plus stuff is dire…the vintage and gear 4 music offerings at that price point are horrid to play, and invariably fall apart within a few months.

Matt/tazz – aesthetics aside can you quantify/describe ride ‘feel’ between swift/inbred? *i know, difficult to articulate*

Very true Matt, but then again my ‘bred ticks all of those boxes too…hmmm dilemmas :?

£100 seems to be about the break-point for a decent guitar, either electric or acoustic.

    Er no

Haha! You’ve gotta love count zero and his authoritative advice that is no good to anyone other than himself!

I still believe the way I was taught 30 years ago is the correct way, cheap acoustic, give your child a few months to build dexterity and technique before moving on to more expensive electric guitars that will only amplify mistakes from the start.

    Just my view mind

Currently using genetic bikes tug on my inbred which is fine but the surly one offers more track adjustment and opens beer 8)

Been using a pump for 3.5 years now, wouldn’t go back to MDI as my control is much, much better on the pump.
Mine always lives in my pocket with a little hole cut and I just thread the line through, this goes for riding or whatever. It takes a little getting used to to get your basal rates dialled and the infusion set will feel strange for a while but I really have no issues and the freedom of not having to lug pens etc around plus the tighter control is a total win for me personally.

On the bike I find it particularly good as the basal levels can be lowered incrementally from 0-100% so you can just tweak as neccesary after testing your BM whilst out on the trail.

Feel free to email (in profile) if you want more detailed info.

I’ve found 32:18 just about spot on for my 29er

but… i’ll be jiggered if i can get the chainlength correct on my scandle 29er (even maxing out chain tensioner)

anyone else had this problem? perhaps i’ll have to stick a 19t on it

did try a 1/2 link, but kept breaking it, so rather stick to normal chain)

Yep, having this prob with my inbred running 32:18, tried numerous chains, 3/32, 1/8, 9sp…V frustrating, just ordered some more half-links….The fettling continues!

Thanks for all the replies guys. Thought I’d supply some feedback incase anyone else has this issue in the future.

I backed the phone up to iCloud (only) before leaving for my GB appointment….So, I arrive at the Apple store and explained problem to the genius bar, they replaced device immediately, swapped sim over, recovered my back up from the cloud, everything (including music) came back onto new phone, deleted everything from old phone, I shook his hand and thanked him for his help….Jobs a good’un! :D

Thanks for the replies guys. So, in summary, they may take it apart to try and fix it or they may give me a new one. They’ll transfer all my data across as long as I press the button, its my data…I should delete it….Oh and I will deffo be nice to them!

The cromoto was on an inbred, and tbh it was a very good match- heavy and unimpressive

HAYTER BWOY!….Please leave the thread Northwind, you’re not wanted here!

FWIW it was cromotos that I tried and disliked. They just feel like every cheap rigid fork from the 80s to me.

It’s all personal pref Northwind, but did you try them both on inbred 29ers, which was the OP’s question?

I’ve had the exotics and they were WAY to flexy for me…put some cromoto’s on and find them superb! As two jumpers says, they work really well on the inbred.

I carry a small FA kit, with a few essentials in it. Bought it at Go oudoors IIRC, cheap as chips, used it once or twice and daren’t take it out now as the inevitable WILL happen :|
