The deore’s are a very different brake from the SLX and higher models as they don’t feature the cam technology (Servowave?)

You are incorrect, deore do have servo wave.

Try a new cable and outer, cheap to do as it’s just gear cable. Change mine periodically when it gets sticky and no probs with it.

On my 3rd inbred frame, first 26er vert drop out I loved, then switched to 29ers.. Swap out inbred was dire, felt dead and lifeless, changed for a new slot dropout frame and I’ll NEVER sell this one! Love it! 8)

You can’t put power down discerningly, it’s all or nothing.

    Disagree, that’s down to technique.

Thule aero and a 591 on 3 series saloon and never had the whistling you describe and tbh don’t notice any difference in fuel economy whether the 591 is mounted or not. As above, make sure you set the bars up properly with no gaps on the underside.

Never competed and never plan to. Whether it’s a trial centre, a XC loop either solo or with mates or even play riding with my daughters in the street I’d still ride….If cycling was carcinogenic, I’d still ride…different strokes for different folks I guess :?

I used to have a Mk2 Maverick (euro version of the Escape) with the back seats folded you’ll easily get 2 bikes (front wheels out so bike bags should be no prob)/Kit/other luggage in. Loads of room inside…My ex-wife got custody of my Mav when we divorced….I missed that little truck more than I did her  I’m assuming they’ve only made them larger on interior space on recent models.

    Please create a blog! I’d follow it as I’m curious… I think I’d find a pump a bit ‘invasive’.

Tbh you are always aware it’s sitting in your pocket or wherever you choose to keep it but you soon get used to it.
A blog would be good OP and the bolus wizard/carb count function on the pumps are a great little bit of tech! You can build in your corrections/food/beer intake without having to even think about it 8)

That’s why they sell those sensibly small bottles.

This. Shimano MO isn’t expensive and unless you own an lbs a couple bottles will prob outlast your current brake set/s.

One essential bit of kit missing….A pair if scissors so you can cut a little slit in all your baggies/jeans/suit pockets to thread the line thru, don’t wear it externally, particularly on the bike as the line can snag and rip your cannula out…Good luck, buckle up for a bumpy ride but stick with it and you’ll get your pump dialed in in no time!
Wouldn’t be without mine now, life changing for me!

Perhaps troll-pants would like to suggest some constructive on-line diagnosis/remedy??

Personally I wanted mine diagnosed and dealt with ASAP, saw a sports therapist, paid her some hard earned, got fixed up, learned what was happening and why it happened, job done.
    HTH OP.

    Edit- nice one troll-pants!
