Been avidly following this thread and v impressed with the folk that have quit the deadly cigs!

Personally I have a medical condition that dictates smoking is probably the worst thing possible for my health, does that deter me? Nope, I’m an idiot…Peer pressure/family haven’t helped my quit campaign to date so I’m very keen to join round two of the stw quitters club starting tomorrow morning, anyone care to join me?

CG you don’t need to spend lots of money, mine was a little over £120 (and totally silent), download a sufferfest DVD for around a fiver and you’re good to go, one hour and you’ve had a very intense workout! Win! :D

Just swapped my look keo’s back to spds for winter and won’t be going back. Dual sided pedals with loads of float can’t be beaten IMO. So as realman says save your mullah for other kit,

Last week I bought one of smudges 1000 lumen xml lights, maiden voyage last night and was chuffed to bits. 4 settings (high/med/low/strobe) for £67 delivered you cant go wrong… :D

1000 lumens is easily enough for what you are describing, I’d say 200 isnt enough.

Same RB tyres all year round, no dramas, reduce pressures very slightly dependent upon conditions.

If you’ve only ever run underinflated tyres make sure you keep the tip of your tongue touching the roof of your mouth to avoid biting it off once your tyres are properly inflated

Fenred – why uncomfortable? The SPD part stick into your sole or something?

Yep, exactly that. I use either etnies or vans and bought these pedals for both regular mtb use as well as play-riding out the front with my kids so didnt want/need to be clipped in for that. the cleat part doesnt fully retract flat into the platform so there’s always a very uncomfortable protrusion.

Z1ppy – I agree with what you’re saying but you can hit a sweet spot just outside of that clip in point.
