shimano are great but I’ve never has an issue with hope either (run one on the back end of my FS) but I know others dislike them. I have halo porkies on my HT and and prior to that they were on my rigid SS, they’re heavy but about as stiff as I’ve encountered for a 9mm qr.

@scaredypants, death by banjo would be considered a pleasant demise! :?

@martinhutch, how very dare you diss Sarfend and surrounding area’s…Fair point about the pylons though. :D

Blimmin fab! Only got to see them play live once at Summer Xs, Wembley in ’91…Still play their material every now and then and it always puts a smile on my face. Timeless! 8)

Could you not just have got a bigger frame, so the headtube would be longer, bringing bars higher, not needing a daft long stem and still leaving loads of post sticking out the frame.

The pic is prob deceiving, there’s 200mm of post showing and a 110mm stem. Shoulder injury means I need wider bars and riding on hoods, drops or tops cause pain. Thanks for the input tho!

Yep, shoulder inpingement means drops hurt, alot! Longer stem and a few tweaks kind of make it all work-ish :-)

Agreed. Just had a set of reba’s back from them and had progress update calls throughout (inc Saturday). Had the forks picked up, serviced and returned in the time it took ‘ANother’ competitor to even respond to my initial enquiry email.

    Awesome service!

They’ll have the last laugh when they fly past you on the climbs. I’m loving the SS in the mud. Back to gears when it drys up though.

Very much this or rather IF it dries up!

Thanks all. It’s a 4s and less than a year old so hoping if it doesn’t turn back on it will dry out sufficiently enough that the genius chaps will replace

I’ve had cromoto’s and exotics on mine, now with answer 20/20 bars.
Excuse the abysmal pic but you get the general idea.

Yes, you still use both the springs on your qr skewer.

    If that’s what you mean?

unfortunately on a rigid 29er it didn’t actually seem to do anything to stop the mud from splattering either the bike or my arse

To be fair to the OP, if your arse was as wide as khani’s, you’d need more than a silly little flap of plastic to remain splatter free too

Edit- I concur tho they are useless!

Can’t vouch for the trailer factor but XL halo hex or porky works really well with my inbred and Genesis high latitude slot dropouts with one ds tug.

Have a look at the Merlin Malt R, I paid £600 for mine last year and I think they took another ton off that earlier this year.

I have 2 sets of Easton havens on 2 bikes, one carbon, the other alloy and there’s an instantly noticeable difference In feel/stiffness….carbon all the way.

OP, if you do decide on an Ellsworth phone freeborn and discuss their stock.
I was about to press the button on an evolve 3 weeks ago and thought I’d phone them just to check colours, details etc…turns out Ellsworth are hideous in terms of sending stock to the UK and very hit and miss in terms of logistics and freeborn couldn’t guarantee a frame size/colour choice arriving any time this year!
Freeborn are a great company to deal with from previous exp. Ellsworth apparently need to sort out their supply chain/MP&L…give them a call if you haven’t already

Just back, one of those very rare wax work off early, no mechanicals, only saw 2 DW’s in 2 hours, trails to yourself, everything flowed evenings 8)
Only the surprisingly slippy, greasy SE Essex clay grots prevented an otherwise ‘just wipe off the dust’ perfect ride….

Long shot, and I think I already know the answer but has anyone tried the chrome cast with the Cartoon HD app?? If it actually supports it then I’ll get one tomorrow.

A friend at work tried it several times through safari/iOS to no avail…not sure on other OS though.

Is this just not an excuse for a new frame/build?

Write it off and buy a new frame…Everyone loves a new frame! 8)

    POSTED 23 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

    Is that a serious post??

In fairness, the poster has never knowingly consumed six caramel latte’s at Starbucks and then gone home to beat his wife…..

Good point well made sir!
