clubber – as I put at the top I’d pay STW, I was just thinking out loud really see if anybody would ‘commission’ me, which would encourage me to get going. I am suffering from depression/anxiety, and the bike riding/building helps; it prevents me teaching wwaswas, not bike building(riding:), but thanks for your concern(seriously. I’ve just been out for a blast along the wet windy seafront here in Brighton and I feel quite optimistic, but, yes, I take both your points, and Amos, like all great ideas – Windows; stolen from Apple, Ipod; stolen back again, mine is hardly original.

OK, what if I get bargains off ebay and sell them on on here at a good price ? I’ve just got into building bikes and buying selling bits over the past year as I’ve been off work with anxiety/depression and threads like this really cheer me up :-) I think most people on here are just MTBrs who like to try new bits and bikes out and could never afford the prices new, and none of us are ever going to get rich out of buying and selling; it just goes back into more bikes and bike bits. Addicted moi? Yes, and I love it.

Great map/info about the Southdowns Way – the 2nd page includes distance between points and an ‘elevation’ view parallell to the map way

snaps I got an Orange SPVM2000 off of ebay for £60 and bought a GPS receiver for £20. The SPVM2000 is a touchphone (basically an iphone long b4 they appropriated the idea, like MP3s players were around years before ipods) so you can do navigate by touching the screen with your finger(nail). It’s also a phone, mp3/video player, has wifi, bluetooth, runs Word, Access etc., (has a slideout keyboard), and I use it to read ebooks. Brilliant.

I’ve got the first bit OK; it’s the same as on the Epic, but it can’t be right that there are no proper gear cable bosses – I’m doing as you did bodging it using cable and zip ties, but it’s difficult to get them tight enough to stop the plastic ends pulling through :(
