Cambridge Cycle Company (Gt Shelford and Pampisford) gave me great service yesterday when I went in for a quote on a road bike.

    Recommended.

We paid for the priority boarding last time. Admittedly it isn’t a massive difference but just thought of it as making the miserable experience slightly more bearable.
Small extra cost to make our holiday nicer in my opinion.

Not sure I’d bother if flying more often.

Can I add in the “wgaf cos we’ve had our “go” and who really cares about the future of our species on a conscious level anyway” argument?

    Feel better now.

Found it dipped a bit in series 1 but then kicked off massively halfway through series 2 and kept going til the end.

    £7 is way too low.
Closer to £12-15 would be reasonable.

Well my point was he was no more disadvantaged than Alonso
Unlike Alonso, Rosberg failed to mitigate the disadvantage.

Yes, that’s what I was saying.

Looks like we’re in complete agreement then…

I know, I’m not defending Rosberg. I’m not his biggest fan.
Not sure if you’re trying to out me as a Rosberg fanboi or summink??

He was disadvantaged by the safety car. That is all.

Alonso stayed out on the same tyres for longer and is clearly a better all round driver than Rosberg.

Imo he is the best in F1 atm.

I find the rude ones are the home-counties commuters who are stressed from their travels. The ***** who live here seem quite relaxed to me.

Nico was disadvantaged by the safety car in that he missed the chance to pit.
Otherwise he would have been more likely to keep his first position.

Lewis drove a good race and was more aggressive, hence his excellent progression from near last to third.

I for one am offended by the offended

See, the term offended in these cases is used by the JC apologists to mean people are almost fainting with shock.
They’re not, they’re just standing up and saying being racist isn’t right. That’s all.

Not offended, just not going along with the bigotry “cos it’s all a harmless laugh really”.

I’m more amazed (well, not really) that nobody noticed this when the show went out and that we all had to have it pointed out to us.

    That’s how racist it was…..

When did you carry out this poll? I must have missed it.

Ergotamine tartrate and caffeine are both vasoconstrictors, substances which act to constrict blood vessels.

You see, this is what I supposed as it’s the same vasoconstriction that the sumatriptan provides that gives relief.

I’m not in any sort if position to argue either way but it’s odd that it works for this type of headache.
Maybe it helps return the “spasm” to normal.

Initially I wondered if it was placebo effect as it seemed too simplistic a cure after 5 years of these headaches.
After nearly four months now I hope any placebo effect would have stopped.

    Interesting! I thought the opposite.

Either way, life changer for me!

Ernie, I think it’s you I have to thank for the “coffee therapy” from something on another post on here some time back.

    Cheers!

    Caffeine is a vasodialator.

    Is this right, Drac?
A quick search seems to suggest it temporarily raises BP and it may cause arterial stiffness but findings are not conclusive.
I presumed, maybe wrongly, that if BP was increased then the arteries were more constricted thereby giving a higher pressure.

Just supposition, happy to be put right.

I also cut my alcohol intake somewhat. Not that I was drinking a lot before but it was sometimes a trigger.
I suppose the “coffee therapy” works best if your body isn’t used to caffeine so it has a bigger effect when needed.

Anyhow, it worked for me and it’s easily worth going without coffee and tea to avoid the headaches.
    Hope it works for you.

I suffered from migraines roughly every two weeks that would usually last three days. They would wake me up in the night too so sleep and darkness didn’t really help.

I tried lots of things but what has worked for me has been fantastically simple. I stopped ALL caffeine intake.
I have decaf tea now – not too bad, can’t really taste much difference.

The other good thing is that, when a migraine starts, which is very seldom now, I have a strong cup of coffee and it stops the migraine in its tracks. It’s been 3 months since I last had to take sumatriptan.

It might not work for you but it has for me!

It makes sense too (to me anyway) as migraines are caused by dilation (not constriction as was thought) of the arteries.
The caffeine constricts the arteries and removes the pain.

Non pet owners, it seems to me, like to forget that humans are animals too. Our emotions are not “special” or exclusive to our species.

Whilst this is true, I think it’s fair to say that many dog owners attribute greater intelligence to their pets than they actually possess.
They are like us in that they are animals, but then so are iguanas.

I had very poor customer service from them. Paid for Saturday delivery and they failed to deliver (after confirming it was going to delivered on the specific day)
They then refused to send the PC sooner than the following Saturday.

The guy argued back and forth by email. Very poor.

Wanted to cancel but the small print meant I’d need to pay a cancellation fee.
    Would never use again.
