See, I (secretly) love You've Been Framed and often have a right belly-laugh with the rest of the family.
Still don't find that clip funny though.

Sod it, enough of this, I'm off out for a skinful, a bird and a fight.

Just finished my 2nd(!) sweet sherry. Who knows what'll happen tonight!

I'm not talking in any way about any possible psychological harm to the boy.
I don't believe for one moment this will affect him at all in the future and I am completely sceptical about the whole "counselling" thing.

I was talking about people's reaction to this sort of video, not to the boy involved.

To summarise, I find it unfunny and mildly disturbing. Others find it "desperately funny". I find that attitude literally desperate.

No hand wringing angst here just my instinctive emotion to the video I saw. Honest reaction. Different to others, but honest.

Phew! There are a few other people who are able to both empathise and sympathise with the child.
There was me thinking it was another example of a de-sensitised society where anything is funny as long as it isn't happening to the internet spectator.

We're **** as a species if this is our outlook.
Dinosaur thinking, dinosaur destiny.

Play it again and turn it up loud and listen to a human being whimpering in utter desperation and fear. Too, too funny for words.

Grumpy FeeFoo is uplifted by wwaswas.
That's wiped the scowl off my miserable old chops!

Thankyou sir!

Ok, I'll find it funny now you've explained it.

God, I am grumpy.
Ignore me.
Still gonna pointlessly post this though.

Tis true, I am old and boring.
I think I'd have always felt the same though even when I was young and er…exciting.
Some people laugh at other people in distress and some don't.
I don't.

Back to my mundane, mirth-free life then.

Am I the only one tired of hearing "full fat coke" used for standard coke?
It was half-smirk inducing at best the first time I heard it back in 1776.

Stop it.

But not by me.

So, Middle Class Prostitutes the answer then, FeeFoo?

Yes, they have to arrive in a 4×4 moaning about prices of bike bits
what existed before our know universe was created? I can never get my head around it, for something to be created there must have been something before it to create it and something before that….. an on and on and on……

It shows what a nonsense our notion of time and cause and effect are.

[quoteYou'd have all been leaping up and down saying how exciting it was if Button or Hamilton had won. How he'd driven a fantastic tactical race and given a display of touching the envelope driving. But as Alonso won in one of those red ones… .
Nope, was pleased Alonso won – I highly rate him and Ferrari. Still was a very very dull and lifeless race.

If the drivers (even the winner) think this, then it is worrying:

"With no refuelling, it will be difficult to see any overtaking, so after the first lap the positions will be set," said Alonso on his Ferrari debut.
Lewis Hamilton, who finished third for McLaren, added: "You start with fuel, you do one stop and it's pretty much a train all the way."

(from BBC news)

Massa in the press conference saying "… having to look after my tyres…. have to look after the engine…. look after the fuel economy…"

If this is what they have to do to get some points then it's not racing they are doing, it's more like my drive to work Monday to Friday.

– except obviously there's more competition on my average commute.

I have no problem with it or with people leaving their trolleys unattended for a few minutes.
Why someone would care one way or another or go as far as ascribing this behaviour to "chavs" is a little sad.

@Jujuuk68

Indeed, you teach them the price of everything, (ie washing up/hoovering ec) and the value of nothing. Why wouldnt any right minded adult who hates slaving away for an employer all week, suddenly expect 9 year olds to accept this shit?

So… teach them that work is a waste of time and it contributes nothing of worth to society?

We need a few more kids growing into kidults thinking this way.
That'll improve things.

Top tip for Dyson owners: Apart from cleaning the filters regularly, I also buy a new "lifetime" filter once a year for less than £20. Then it sucks as good as it did when new!

Mine's been going for 8 yrs so far…

Sting during the final fight scene at the end of Dune: "And the little one? Will she deserve my special attention?" – and then does an awful gurning pantomime baddy face.
