    Update.

It makes a lot more sense when you’re wife sends you the whole letter. I’m away at work I spent an evening searching the web trying to confirm payment details and how much to pay as the front page only stated the range of penalties for my charge. My wife had only sent me a photo of the front page. On the back of the letter are all the instructions and IBAN details. Just needs a bank transfer and then email to ansr.pt with a payment receipt.

    Stress over.

I’ve got two of the race version both cracked but it has not been an issue. It is a bit irritating for a tyre that costs so much. They are excellent grip wise and puncture protection works well on rough granit/roots round our way.

Around the same time that someone faxed me an invoice.

Depends how often you puncture/adjust tyre pressures when out and about but have you considered carrying a CO2 inflator? I have a track pump in the garage/car. CO2 in hip pack. OK its a few quid a cylinder but I’ve only used it two in 6 years. So in my estimations its worth the cost/environmental for the convenience.

Was given a free sample of the original vanilla stuff. It was gross. It had the flavour and texture of some artificially sweetened wheatabix which had been left in a cup of water over night.
Not tired any of the savoury stuff

Great PSA. Do feel old hearing them say “As heard on Radio soulwax pt2” was released 20 years ago.

There is an option you didnt mention. Missdirection!
Distract them with dogs while putting the bike in the shed. Knowing that once its in there they will never count the number of bikes or even really notice the difference between your CX bike or your DH bike. puppies work best. Videos of puppies are cheaper than actual puppies but you have to be quick.

    Buffs(other brands are available).
They are very useful. I worked in outdoor shops growing up, the video of the guy showing you how they can be used is burned in my brain. I rallied against them as stupid for so long.

You’ve kind of answered your own question, If you’ve not really damaged a rim or had a snake bite. You dont really need them.
I run an ARD in the rear but I live in Aberdeenshire, no trail center groomers with us all natural trails with a lot of sharp edged granite.

Give it a good rinse before storing if its had cordial or electrolyte in it to avoid things getting gummed up. usually store the bladder hanging open in a cupboard to allow it to dry out properly. Tesco fred and flo sterilizing tablets are £1 for 56 tabs, I use them sometimes.

See adders fairly regularly in the highlands usually middle of land rover tracks in the sun.

Have you considered just open vents above doors/at the base of walls just to allow natural movement of air? In our old house (old granite building with lath and plaster) there were some retro fitted built in cupboards which could get a little mouldy. Just leaving cupboard doors open a little to allow air movement in the colder months was enough to prevent this.

Anyone who thinks about interfering with a safety aspect of any road going vehicle is completely out of their mind. If any one of these vehicles pulls out, they could get down the road before it becomes obvious that the tires are underinflated. Under inflated tires if not flattened entirely may not be immediately obvious and can still significantly impact vehicle control. This could potentially cause a crash, single car or into another road user (perhaps someone on a bike). Think of the CO2 impact of creating another car or tow replace vehicles which already exist.

You could use the defense that the drivers have been notified in writing but paper flyer in Scottish weather isn’t likely to stay on a windscreen for long.

In climate change it is your own responsibility to do your bit. It is another subject where people love to use the moral high ground to judge others. Messing with peoples property is not a way to win supporters.

As a disclaimer I’m not a fan of SUV’s. I just don’t agree with these actions.

As others have mentioned the joy of Aberdeen isn’t Aberdeen. It is what is in reach from Aberdeen. Aberdeen has everything you need and it doesn’t take long to get out of it. My folks live in Peterculter. I’ve lived in Aboyne and now live in Westhill.

Aboyne was brilliant. Riding from the door and endless dog walks along with a great village, nice pub. Down side was long commute to work for my wife and the only public transport is a 2 hour bus to Aberdeen.

Westhill its self is pretty uninspiring but has everything you need with good transport links to Aberdeen, its just off the the bypass to go south and short distances to all the good stuff in the shire.

Peterculter much like westhill is good links to Aberdeen and just on the edge of all the good stuff.

Speak to your estate agent for Area specific advice but its highly unlikely that you will recoup all the cash you sink into a bathroom. If its all functional and not peach or avocado. Clean it and redo any moldy sealant.

I have a Garmin 245 music. Bought it primarily for running with music, Nowhere to put phone in most running clothes.
Use it to Track mountain biking too. Cant fault it.

As per standard STW others will be along to tell you I’m wrong but the last two garages I’ve painted I’ve just used whatever brilliant white emulsion. May depend what the internal surface is on your garage walls, mine were just bare breeze blocks. I was only looking to brighten up the garage.

Was down in Edinburgh with my wife a couple of weeks back. Book all your meals and activities ahead of time to avoid any disappointment.

Had an amazing lunch in SALT cafe. Smoked bloody Marry WOW

I’ve gone old school. Tyre worms are too expensive and dont really work well on linear punctures.

worked fine on two EXO+ Assguys and a DD high roller

@pondo absolutely. The golf 2013 GTD we had at the same time as the mondeo had adaptive cruse control too world of difference. Far more polished. I’m sure they’ve all improved since then. I wouldn’t know I drive a transit now.

I had one of the precursors to this in a 2013 mondeo. The anti collision warning system. Used to drive me mad beeping all the time. I just turned it off. That car had adaptive cruse control too but it was like being driven by a learner driver, very erratic. Had the basic ideas there just not finely honed at that point.

@tthew. I think it was something Amir Englund wrote saying that (cant remember where I saw it)
    Its more a case of
As THC is regulated but CBD is unregulated its not the chance that there might illegal levels of THC in your CBD product and more a far “higher” change there is bugger all CBD (or any other active substance) in there.

Watch yourself. You’ll be out of practice!!!!! I was.

When outdoor drinking in Scotland opened up a couple of weeks ago(sub optimal weather). 4pm till 7:30pm. We weren’t on a mission or anything just meeting a couple of people for a catch up. Stone cold passed out on the sofa at home 9pm.

I have used both, Ronseal and Layland trade. Both scratch if you drag heavy stuff along them. You have to go for expensive epoxy if you want serious durability but its not worth that for home garage. It is very easy to spot recoat any damaged areas if they bother you. I have no complaints about either brand, both are very easy to roll on once properly mixed. I did exactly what you are planning, painting one side them moving all the crap. Once the floors are painted sweeping up the garage and cleaning spilled oil/tyre sealant is a lot easier.

Is that not a bit of a strange tyre/rim combo? XC racing tyre and Endruo/DH rim.

Anyway yeah some tires do loose a bit over time. I work away 3 weeks at a time CX bike often needs pumped up prior to a ride usually run around 30-40psi thin side walls. MTB on DD highroller/assegi barely looses any usually run aroun 18-20psi.

I use a garden sprayer as a pump/volume bottle. This is enough to seat the tire then just finish with track pump. Much cheapness. still works as a garden sprayer too

Mayo on the outside prior to toasting (Trust me)

Fillings all depend what is in the fridge. There is basically no bad tostie.
Smoked cheddar and mushroom was a particularly good one.

They’re made from cheap/thin/poorly coated steel on most cars. They often corrode through and rattle or get damaged.

Short term road side solution you can usually bend them back and fore and snap them off if they are making a racket.

Long term answer if you’re not going to replace them your self. Its probably not worth the cost of putting your car in specifically to get a mechy to replace them. Maybe keep them in mind and get them replaced when you have the car in for something else like disc replacements.

Many people will be along to slate them shortly but our Dyson DC25-animal refuses to die its 6 years old. Gets abused, has been through the renovation of two houses so far, chewing through plaster dust, rats nest clean ups and the daily clean up after our two long haired dogs. Its easy to strip down and clear any blockages. Filters are quick and easy to wash or replace.

I bought a pair of RAF surplus from ebay 3 weeks ago. £19 quid. Zip to flare out base of legs for on and off over shoes. Navy rather than camo which I preferred.
Originial plan was to make shorts but have borrowed my mums sewing machine and tapered the legs from the knee down similar to most other riding trousers. Only tried them once so far it was a disgusting day so they were great. Going to try them as riding waterproof trousers for the winter. I suspect i will eventually decide they’re too hot and they will be turned into waterproof shorts at some point.

I use a pair of 2 quid clip on braces with them too this helps massively with keeping them in place.
