I’ve got a large 29+ tarn and don’t feel it’s that heavy at all. Rides well and is made really nicely. I like it so much I just bought a Genesis Fugio going it will be made as well.

I really enjoyed that thanks mate. I’ve never been but it seems I could handle the tracks you’ve shown so I will pay a visit now!

The only thing holding me back would be my total lack of dh skills. I’ve been riding bikes since I was 3, like most of us, so I’m not a newbie it’s just I know a lot of you guys are way more experienced than me in this area and before I get too old i want to try it 😀 thanks for the honest advice 👍

I’m 5’11 and based in Liverpool at the moment . My uzzi is 190mm travel rear and 180 front and a 64 degree head angle. I do take your point about learning to jump, I can if needed but not big gaps etc. I would be arranging a skills day to help if I got one.

I really get on with chromag trail master. Very comfy for my narrow ass and seems to last forever.

I just had Asda best sourdough today with strawberry jam. Not bad to be fair, beats my local waitrose one.

I have 3 pairs of e4 brakes and all went on either large or a large medium frame. All had to be cut down.

I have the alu chameleon. It’s very easy to flick about and with 120mm forks wants to jump and pop off everything. It climbs well and doesn’t seem to beat me up around Degla like I’ve experienced in the past with ht bikes there. The reach is spot on, I’m 511 and it’s a large with either plus 27.5 or plus 29er wheels. Very versatile and above all a fun bike to ride.

Used to be my local for 15 years, so before the trails were made and then after. You can make enough of a ride for around 1.5 hours approx. If you go over to the church side then it can be much longer. Not sure on conditions as I’m in Liverpool now but it alway drains fast so should be good.

I’ve got a garmin 235 which has been brilliant for a year or so and I just bought a sunnto spartan sport hr which I’m getting used to. Both work fine with strava etc and log way more details than I ever need.

Hi Dovebiker they are the outer plastic thin rings that cover the outside of the bearing faces to help stop dirt ingress.

Just over 100 gets you the deore all in with calipers and levers. Best bang for buck by far I think.

RIP Mark. I never met you but did follow your story . Somehow I never thought this would happen , it has and I’m shocked and deeply saddened. Condolences to all of the family. Ride free mate 😥😥

I used them a while ago for some rare CB wheel adaptors. Perfect service no issues at all.

I’m a project manager in a architectural glass company and I want nothing to do with it when Friday ends. To tell the truth I want nothing to do with it when Monday starts either !

It’s got nothing to do with driving for the conditions. It’s about having to do an emergency avoiding maneuver and the affect that can have on the vehicle. The value is obvious, where the cost cutting is is partly shown in that link.

Yea that’s shocking. Cheap for a reason.

@trail_rat subtle sarcasm! They are simply cheap cars for people who either don’t care about cars or cant/won’t spend a lot on them. Nothing wrong with that, they are what they are.

Going from 10mm rise bars to 35mm rise bars changed my chameleon for the better for me.

It’s extremely simple to do. Shortening them at the same time is equally so.

I’m running 27+ and 29+, well front 29×3.0 and rear 29×2.6. I think the rear can take a 2.8 just can’t find a suitable tyre. I am undecided which I prefer.

Yes I did mean the price. With that build, look at the seat post and clamp, £450 tops.

I’ve got a 2019 one. I’m 511 with a large and it’s spot on for me. I definitely wouldn’t want a medium, mine is nicely stretched out but still very playful. 50mm stem and 820 bars.

I have a 2017 Tarn 10. It’s got 29er, 27.5+ and 29+ wheels ( 3.0 fr 2.6) . Much prefer it on the 29+. Lovely detailed and riding frame. I’m 511 and have a large wouldn’t want a medium as it fits lovely. I’ve tried suspension but prefer it rigid with the 29+. I’ve swapped the stem and bars and added another dropper. Great bike.
