No private purchase from pink bike so I’m basically screwed as yodel don’t want to know!

I nearly had one of these, nearly due to Yodel losing it and not paying up!! In my research I found it was 34.9 mm clamp.

Yes they weren’t cheap for long, must of been the shortest sale offer ever !

12 would be fine :) my forks have a very short steerer , 155mm , as I bought them that way for spares but they fitted my 456 and now I’ve just bought the pig and it has a 10mm longer head tube :( thanks guys .

Yes I’ve seen that one mentioned but the stack height is too much for what I need .

Yes I got the headset for £22 from crc and had the stem already so not too bad .

I did the spank spike / cb headset thing and managed to use a 155mm steerer set of domains on a 456, was well pleased as the set up saved the forks.

Quite obvious really, diesel parts are much more expensive than petrol.

Diesel cars cost more to begin with and if buying second hand to avoid the initial cost you need to factor in high costs for parts. My BMW diesel injectors went and BMW wanted £450 odd each, there were six of them! I’ve now got a 1.8 merc petrol and if driven sensibly the petrol consumption is extremely resonable. I will never buy diesel again .

From my close colleague sitting next to me who is a Celtic season ticket holder, if both Celtic and rangers bigoted fans do not realise that both clubs need each other to move forward out of the dark ages then Scottish football will be dead and buried.

Any engine will pink if tuned high enough, unless you throw serious money at it in the fueling department . Which of course you should if you’ve bothered to build it correctly. I’ve never owned one but from general reading the ST does seem to be an informed choice in that segment of the market .

I had a 2009 model, well two pairs, and if i remember correctly you just do it up tight and you should get a small amount of resistance then it will click around a fraction more. It is a failsafe method so you cannot overdo the axle as they do snap inside which while making it hard to function still does not make the axle throw away, you try to get one !!! I wouldnt worry so long as you do it up hand tight it should be fine.

I am very interested in this, I currently have a 16 inch 456 ss, I’m 5″11 with a 31 inside leg, what size would you guys recommend ? Thanks.

I had the same problem. A crank bros headset and a spank stiffy stem gave me back around an inch and made a set of domains useable.

I thought you had to drill out to 10mm to install a 6mm helicoil? If I’m right that’s probably to large for the mount to take.

Have you considered a second hand pair of Burgtecs? They are lovely to use to fully rebuildable. Although maybe not as low profile as you want but they dont cost a fortune new for nothing !!! :)

I have owned much more expensive hardtails but this one rides great just not as springy as i like but for the money its excellent.

this is how it first looked after buying the frame off here, still rode great though !!

Ive had terriers for over ten years and they can be stubborn little buggers, but with correct and early training they can definitely be kept under control . I have a guy who lives near me with two Staffords and they are always off the lead and only leave his side when he tells them to go and always come back to him when he commands.
