I’ve looked at the cracked one due to it’s price and I’m wondering if it is fixable or whether to give it a miss. Do you know if they can take a Hammerschmidt or at the very least a dual ring up front?

Thanks for the advice as at the moment that frame is looking the best for an all rounder .

I know ! I’m starting to find out no one really does this, which amazes me as in my local woods it would be so much fun.

Yes I’ve only seen one spesh sx for sale recently. If bb pivot frames aren’t that bad then maybe a Kona bass might be OK? I will check out an older Trance, thanks as that’s one I hadn’t thought of.

I’ve looked at the Rampant but it is out of my price range, I have a big f/s and two hardtails so its a want buy not a need buy ! I have read the commencal 4x is a good buy but I’m worried about it cracking as I need to buy in the bad years I guess to keep the price sensible. Thanks for the advice so far .

I don’t need a wireless exchange as its fibre from there to my house . so no copper is needed in the equation as far as I’m aware. Fibre optic doesn’t travel down copper does it ?

I’m thinking of going with them but I can’t get my head around a huge phone line rental bill included which I don’t need for fibre. I know they are not the only ones but it is too much to pay almost £200 for something I don’t need and will never use.

I think there are many more frames and forks etc for sale lately on here and PB.

Yes I was kind of linking titanium to the steels :) but you know what I mean :)

After trying various brands of all three frame materials, steel Ali and carbon, the biggest change for me was carbon.

E13’s for me. They are wide light and feel good.

You will end up using a program called Odin to root the phone and the associated files for your handset. It is quite simple and will take you less than half an hour.

I remember my oros as having lovely feel and modulation and they stopped me well enough without the need to lock up at every touch. I currently have strokers on my 4x and they are OK but definitely not any better imho.

I have a 27.2 one with the carbon lever. I bought it second hand and I’ve had it about 6 months I guess and it’s been flawless. Excellent build quality lovely action and far better than the three rockshock posts I’ve had.

I had a new one in 2006, it was reliable and fairly comfortable. It fits your said needs/wants but in no way was it ever exciting or desirable.

@ Nealy your concerns are what are what stopping me but to get it straight is fairly easy as the original 5mm holes for the qr are your guide , its just the strength that will be left in the end caps after taking them out to 12mm. I’m just so tempted but I need to find out the cost and availability of spare end caps incase it doesn’t work!

Thanks but I was hoping on a Max spend of around £50 -£60 in case I don’t actually enjoy it that much !

Are your fork air? If so its a doddle. There are plenty of YouTube and rockshox videos around to show I out how its done. I’ve changed mine around now at least 5 times and it takes about 15 to 20 mins tops. And above is correct!

As far as I know if you bought them from a guy on PB the only cover you have with PayPal is whether it turns up or not, not their actual condition, if you payed the fees that is. I’m sure its only on eBay that you actually get cover for the item matching the description.

Not me but a friend many years ago who wasn’t very good with the ladies actually pulled one night so she took him back to hers and his mate followed . when in the house his mate and her ran into the bedroom and locked the door and started going for it. As he stood outside getting more and more annoyed listening to them an idea popped into his head. He went into her bathroom and ****ed off into her mouthwash !

I drive on average a 200 mile a day commute down the m1 m25 then whatever end of London I’m in that day. I see it a huge amount and conversely I also see drivers flying down the middle and inside using every gap available to make up a few spaces . Over the years I think the motorways are obviously busier and peoples patience runs out quicker leading to erratic unsafe driving. Sign of our selfish times .

    the reply :

As i told you this whole transaction will be handled by Parcel2Go and they will offer you the opportunity to try this product.
You will not pay me any money until you see and inspect the product, all you have to do is purchase PaySafecard receipts from the store and confirm them online with Parcel2Go after they send you the invoice with our transaction details. Also you have to keep the receipts and forward them to me after you decide to keep the item.
If the item is not as described you will receive a full refund from Parcel2Go.
Please reply me with your Full name and delivery address so i can search a PaySafe store near you and inform Parcel2Go about our transaction.

I went for a 125 as i love the lightness and they are less tiring to hang on to. I know you can be frantically changing gear on one but when i raced i started on a 500 ktm in 1982 then slowly over the years went backwards until i was on a new 2001 cr125 which i just loved so I’m trying to recapture that feeling :)

Do it ! I’ve just bought a 99 cr125,as I used to race when I was younger . I’m 46 now and i know its going to kill me like it always did but what a way to go ;). I’ve finished rebuilding mine and have bought all the kit and work are even supplying me with a van ( they don’t actually know this ) so I’m ready to go !!!

I went last year for a day out on my birthday. I honestly wouldn’t go again , it was small and the stands were pretty boring IMHO.i wanted to like it I really did but after about an hour I wanted to leave.

The prices don’t have to be screwed down to nothing. They have to be acceptable to what the company decides the target market will bear. nothing at all to do with what they are worth. You honestly think half of what we as mountain bikers pay for our toys is what they are worth?

    fd3chris

What a product is worth??? More like what they make the market price.

I’ve read plenty of guys have lowered Float 160’s down to 100 for dj so it is possible .
