Don’t go Alfa 166 3.0 as I had one for a year and had to scrap it as a bearing went in the drive shaft at the gear box end and it was £400 from Alfa with that again to fit it. Typically Alfa and that’s why they are all so cheap and usually poorly maintained.

I went through this a month or so ago and I ended up getting an Orange Blood as it’s not too specific a frame. Im very happy with it too as it rides much better than I imagined it would.

I have the DT Swiss axle in my revs and to be honest I don’t notice any difference between it and when I use my fox 34 with 15mm. I’m 86 suited and booted.

I’ve got 2012 and 2013 iodines and I’ve used them fairly regularly with no issues. I think they are an excellent wheel set.

I’ve had a few muscle cars, probably my best was a big block 68 charger in B5 blue. I restored it drove it loved it then sold it for a later Trans Am that I used to commute to London in everyday. On top of that I’ve had plenty of camaros, Firebirds, mustangs and Corvettes. I’m planning now on getting a mid sixties small block Dart and using it as my run around. I adore 60’s Yanks.

I moved here about 11 years ago and I really like it. I’m a five minute walk from a huge lake and ten minute ride from woburn. Im not ideally placed for work as I normally have to drive to London but I won’t move closer as I don’t want to leave MK.

Thinking about it a niner fork would be fine as I swap between 100 and 120 on my revs now on it . but I would like to find a cheaper fork if possible.

Yes I’m thinking that and to be honest it’s my training road bike so I’m guessing it will be fine. But I am needing advice in this area as it’s all new to me.

I’ve read in places that they are the same length as a fox 100mm fork.

My injury is smashed coccyx leading to muscle damage which spasms when I lean over in a prone position. Thanks for the suggestion of the Trek .

I agree with you Scotroutes but I’m trying to keep my heart rate up at a high steady level and the full suss just too much bike, I’ve a blood or an asr7 so both are not really suitable I think.

Mmm it looks like I could add flat bars and 700c wheels , which I presume are 135 spacing ? Cheers guys it seems the cheapest way at the moment .

Thanks for the advice. So any tips on what bike to look out for ?

So is it feasible to put flat bars on my Ibis with road tyres or is it the wrong geometry?

Someone was selling a Chromag Stylus frame on here and there is one on eBay too. It is an excellent frame to ride, I have one, and imho far better than an on one .

I bought one a month ago and have disconnected my 360 since as I love it that much. Far better with the controller than the Wii IMHO.

I got a small bottle from my local chemist. Cost peanuts lasts ages.

I think I already have that bike, it’s a Yeti Asr7 built with the best parts I could afford and it rides so well. My only complaint is that it smooths out the trails so much that around my way, MK, there isn’t much I can’t manage even with my skill!!! Still shouldn’t complain really…..

I’ve had a new style pair of codes for about a year now and they are my fav brake . I keep swapping them between frames as I like them so much.

I had MT2 brakes from new which were extremely weak after numerous bleeds so I sold then cheap and moved on. I did really want to like them after reading the fanbois but they were utter rubbish.

If u want to try one get it second hand as they hold their value as well as Alfas!

    fd3chris

Yes I’ve had both and the gd is far better quality and nowhere near as agricultural in use . ( normally around 100mm or 4 inches is a safe bet in the frame)

Its meant to be fun this sport so if you feel you will enjoy yourself more wearing a ff then do it. It’s your safety no one else’s.

I have a new pair of Avid Codes and they have been faultless and for feel and outright power probably the best brakes I’ve ever had .

Crank brothers iodine is 60mm over the rail area but where your bum sits it is closer to 80mm .

I don’t ride in your areas but the first question I would be asking myself is what bike do you enjoy the most at the moment for the type of riding you actually do?

I used to live in downhead park and rode to the station which is the other side of the centre. So if you Google anywhere close to mk15 you won’t have trouble parking in the streets and the ride is uphill to work and a lovely fast pace back.

I will just go and measure my DJ lower cup and let you know mate. Ah I can’t help you as I’ve just realized I’ve got a reducer lower cup in mine. Ask on yetifan and Andrew will help you out very quickly . I’ve just looked in my order history on merlin and type f is in there for my headset for my DJ so I presume you are right .

I’ve got a Yeti DJ which had a standard hope external tapered headset. 1 1/8th top and 1.5 lower cup. It’s also the same on my Yeti asr7.
