Yes mate thanks ? I’ve seen various ways to keep the iscg adaptor in place, some people have even got away with just a tight bb. I just fancy having a 29er with it on, just wish the bb was already 68mm it would be a lot easier!
I have one of these, a 2011 sl and everywhere I read people are making them 650b. I’ve got the wheels from my hardtail and I can confirm they fit. I’ve put a 2.3 in the rear and my forks easily take that size too. It ups the bb height but lots in the mtbr forum say it’s a great ride. That is updating it in my eyes!
The frame is an ali FF29 recently got off of here with a cheap as chips carbon fork with a 2.2 tyre up front. Niner flat ali bars and thin renthal grips.
I rode a 6 at cyb for two days on hire and then bought an oo fatty off the back of it. Mine has carbon forks, drilled rims, carbon bars etc and honestly there is no difference. It is definitely not worth the 300 pounds “upgrade” imo.
You definitely have my old bike lol I only sold it due to it not suiting my short forest rides but to be fair I hardly rode it. Neither did he in the time he had it.
Don’t worry about the squeaky shock I rang up tftuned about it and they said that model of shock can be squelchy due to the oil returning back through the valves. So long as it is working fine you have no issues.
