Definitely hitch hikers. I have been going back to it since I was a teenager.

I had a fairly new mazda and that book was stopped early in its life with a letter from mazda saying all further service records were online.

Thanks guys it all does sound appealing even if I’m kind of scraping in at the lower end of desirability. I’m definitely going to have a look at a few. At my price they will be poverty spec petrol but worth a look.

If it doesn’t destroy your love for the hobby then do it. Years ago I got into a car body shop to learn the trade and after six months I couldn’t face tinkering with my own car at the wkds.

I have thought about a van but I’ve heard insurance can be a bit more expensive and I was hoping to get a bit of a more comfortable ride for longer trips to cannock etc. And @ slackalice reel your neck in its obvious I’m not getting a top of the range x trail so I’m not being facicious I’m simply not in a position to try out a new ,to me, type of vehicle for a huge amount of money and then find I’m buying a poor model. Hence advice required if possible from people who probably have much nicer versions .

I’ve been looking around that price and it will get you a 2 litre petrol about 2001 2002. I just want it as a bike carrier and not my everyday car it won’t replace my c class at that price lol

Yes I fitted 650b to my ibis mojo and I love the middle ground for the reasons you say. I also have two 29ers and a fatbike which I guess is also a 29er really .

Check clutch as well as a work colleague bought one from the woman who sat next to her in work and the clutch went and she had a £900 bill .Cue awkward silences at work lol

I’ve seen the brakes you’ve bought on here? They are the same year and model as my codes and they have been faultless for over two years of mtb usage. They are my favourite brakes I’ve ever had and I’ve had them all.

I regularly swap between a full suss 29er and a fully rigid one . I mainly find my speed increases quite scarily when I’m on the full suss and I appreciate the trail difficulties more on the rigid.

I’ve never heard so many bad things about one place. How the hell are they still in business?

Depending on your cranks.so long as they are not single ring only then that’s one problem out the way and that your frame can take a front mech then yes . What are they both by the way?

I built my oo from a rolling chassis then added way to many expensive parts and ended up with a bike that looks good and rides very well as a trail bike. If you don’t particularly like the white and orange there are plenty of different coloured decal kits out there . Mine is now totally white with green bits and bobs and I think it looks great . They ride really well the oo but I’ve also tried a Farley 6 which was as good to ride IMHO.

I used to get this quite a bit and it was a combo of shoes too tight and repositioning my feet so I was more on my toes .

I think I’m right in saying that front shifters are interchangeable between 9 and 10 speed.

I’m finding they are a little tricky to find frame only which is a shame. Patience isn’t one of my virtues :)

I guess I’m trying to find the most 26 inch like 29er full suss you can find without spending a fortune in case I don’t like it . Moon on a stick maybe I just don’t know .

I’ve tried a spearfish and it was too on the ground for me. Very fast capable but my rides are only an hour or so and I’m looking for a short chainstayed poppy bike if possible.

I’m quite sure a road one is out by can’t see any reason why an 83mm won’t fit as I’m sure its just the tube thats different .

If your dragging the brake then it’s more than likely heat build up. Try to cover the brake levers with your hands if your anxious about being ready to brake but just float your fingers over the levers don’t drag.

The L stands for ladies shaped frame, around ten mm smaller in tt and seat tube length compared to the men’s version.
