My frame came with a kcnc one which seems to get pretty good reviews. God knows how you remove it though.

I just bought an old frame with bb92 ans it had sram cranks on it before. To fit my shimano cranks I had to install 1mm top hat seals to take up the gap that the old gxp cranks had left. So on that basis I think you do need a gxp 92mm pressfit bb.

I’ve sold much more on pb than here by far as in big items like frames and whole bikes. Although I’ve bought much more on here.

If you have wide feet I do recommend spank spikes.

I’ve got a fatbike if that helps. I’m trying to figure out which is the best for my type of riding. I’m expecting to like both but demos are not available at my local trek store yet.

Look on ebay a seller called mtbtools.

I must admit I bought the frame as a try out stop gap and it’s the most fun I’ve had on a 29er by far.

I think cyb is excellent and I go every year, I’m not a trail centre expert by any means but the riding is a great change from the south east.

@cheekyget I know you can spec almost any front fork with your Tusker but what is the width of the rear and with the 4.25 tyres on have you got any room to go to say 4.6 or even 5?

I think they look good and fresh.

Peterpoddy would you say the procaliber is good for general trail fun or is it too xc specific?

Stache 7 is around 30lbs as weighed in my local trek store.

It’s mainly for hour or two rides in my local forest which isn’t anything extreme but not just xc. Thanks for the advice as Pauls Cycles does have a few good deals on at the moment and you’ve made it sound perfect for me. And no worries Garlic I thought we had crossed wires lol

No sorry Garlic I was meaning their lefty equipped 29er bikes.

I’m wondering what the general consensus is on rear wheel placement. I’ve got mine all the way in at the moment and it wheelies everywhere which is odd on a 29er !

I’m seriously looking at the 7. It seems to tick a lot of boxes for me as a playful 29er.

Look on pinkbike RRD as a shop is selling them new at 690.

If you haven’t seen Roam then that’s highly recommended. But I guess you must of by now .

Thanks Gotama I actually sold mine a few months ago as I liked it but decided to keep the ff29 which in hindsight wasn’t the smartest………

Yelli screamys are hard to find second hand too. Almost every decent 29er hardtail is. Looks like people are holding on to them.

It’s worth a Google and a look Clink thanks.

I’d like a slightly older santa cruz highball but they seem difficult to get hold of so at the moment I’m torn between the ritchey in its two guises and the zealous division for its boldness .

Thanks for that vondally I do appreciate it. I love the colour of yours but also the 44mm headtube of the boring later model. My rigids are on-one carbons and straight steerer but my sus forks are dt swiss 120 with a taper. Decisions decisions ! Yours does look lovely . Prettiest 29er going IMHO.

I’ve never heard of the zealous division but it makes for interesting reading. Looks to be a fun ride but the weight and the bb92 is slightly off putting.

I’d love a chromag as I already own a 26 version but they are next to impossible to find second hand and so expensive new….

I’m already on a ff29 which I really enjoy but I have the upgrade/change bug and I know of old that it won’t go until I do something about it. I do really like the ritchey and the new one has a 44mm headtube but the colour scheme isn’t as striking.

Some good suggestions thanks gys. Anyone riding a ritchey p29 as I like the look of them but all the reviews seem to contradict themselves?

I’ve got some 29er shimano wheels with them and I’ve got no play at all. Mine have some very thin large washers that help take up any play.

I saw a 7 in the local trek store and it looked lovely in purple. Almost a bargain at £1800………

I find the bike really confidence inspiring and so stable that it makes you realise half of your effort goes into balance on a normal bike whereas the fattie just let’s you get on and steamroller over anything you like.

I’m 5 11 and on an 18. At your height I would go large without a doubt.

I go every year on holiday as it’s so dog friendly and I really love it. I know the town is a little run down but as said the surrounding areas are just gorgeous. I’ve ridden a very small amount of local trails as I always go to Cyb. I will be back next year without a doubt.

My gf has one on her 57 plate corsa. It’s been used twice maybe in that time and although it comes out very grubby it’s never seized or anything. I just had trouble making a long travel bike work in it.

I’ve got a 29er ht fully rigid and a 29er full suss and a 650b full suss. Out of all of them the 29er full suss is the quickest over the areas I ride , sometimes too quick. I enjoy 29 and mainly ride my fully rigid one and only take out my 650b on dry clean perfectly manicured trails as it cost me more than I should of spent
