It was about 40% off so I’m guessing it was a good deal. I love 29ers and I’m going the magazine reviews are to be trusted for once.

Not much use to you bit I’ve just built up a shan and it’s far from heavy . It rides light and is very flickable so the Oka should be as good .

I have thought about that on the trigger but it’s the weight that puts me off. I don’t seem to enjoy riding bikes as much that weigh north of 30lbs. I’m not sure if they ride lighter but I doubt it.

Thanks much appreciated. I’ve Googled eveywhere and can’t seem to find if its a suitable trail bike for say forest trails and a little bit of trail centre now and then. It’s the negative rise stem and flat bars that worry me most as I’m all riser bars nowadays.

Ha ha I’ve already had an expensive Xmas ! Surely someone on here rides a scalpel for their go to trail bike ?

I use suckers almost identical to these at work most days lifting glass . The weights vary from between 100kg up to over 500kg so the strength of them I don’t doubt. Where it makes me a little dubious is that you have to regularly check them as they can and do lose pressure especially when they are fixed to a flexible connection point like a car roof. Just make sure you keep an eye on them .

Bb is wider isn’t it ? Some suffer a little but I’ve got two fatties and neither one is noticeable.

Thanks ^^^ for the sizing advice.

They are a proper hard bike to find decent reviews of that’s for sure.

Your frame looks good I’m struggling to figure out what size I would take due to being between medium and large. I’m 5 10 ish but with a longer torso and 31.5 inside leg.

I’ve used Torchy as well. Fast postage and good quality light ,charger and battery. Would recommend.

My other half bought me a shan 917 frame and a muc off kit which made me have to buy all the rest of the build 🙂

For me it’s the note range with the ability to write on the screen.

That sounds like a sensible way to go . My fattie is 1x with a 30×42 but there are a couple of hills I struggle on. My cinch cranks are for a 650b build.

I’m going 42 rear and 28 front so I can pretend im strong enough to go 1x.

They agreed on a certain service for the amount of £18 and the seller didn’t honour that agreement. How hard is that to understand ?? Damn there are some dumb arses on here.

I’ve just bought the aeffect cranks and they seem light understated and nicely made.

I’m not sure but using a lefty steerer conversion let’s me use my original stem so that’s a bonus.

Is the tyre seated on the rim? Or the wheel gone egg shaped?

I’ve tried 29+ and wasn’t impressed . I’ve got two full fat bikes and love them . I’m about to either buy new or convert my 2souls sj to a 27.5+ to see what it’s like. I was seriously interested in the beast of the east 1 until I saw it weighed more than my full fat bike so undecided now.

Go oval you know you wanna try it it’s my next buy for my aeffect cranks.

I’ve just gone through this and ended up with an aeffect with a 30th as I already had a new bb92 for it and it seemed the cheapest way into the cinch system.

I think John from Shorelines deserves a mention as I’ve used him quite a few times and he’s always been spot on. It doesn’t hurt that he only sells really nice top end stuff!

To be honest I’ve only been looking at the beast so I’ve not noticed that. I know it’s early days but any reports are hard to come by. I guess it’s just a waiting game and I’m too impatient.

Dave Hinde? There is more negative feedback on the Web about him than ISIS.

They came good in the end and it might well have been a combination of the emails and maybe even a glance or two on here . But I have to admit I don’t like that new design ^^ . It’s like ground hog day……
