I just pumped it up and down a few times out of the fork and there is now definite difference in the resistance using the compression knob. I will put it all back together and see if it’s still there . Thanks guys

How bad is Gisburn at the moment then as I was hoping to have my first ride there this week ?

I bought a new Evil Following frame and a new Banshee Paradox v3 frame and have just about finished the Banshee build . Evil was finished first but have hardly been out yet so noises what either will ride like.

Hi guys thanks for the help. I took the air cap completely off and pulled up on the lowers and heard a huge suckey noise . Pumped them back up and all seems normal. Yes it is the newer air shaft. I think maybe I might have been a little bit too liberal with the grease maybe on the seal head ? Hopefully this is a cure and I don’t have to strip them down again.

Thanks mudfish that gives me some more options. I’m 5 11 so maybe won’t suffer as much as you with the length issue.

@Tracey they look good , do they come down mid shin area as it’s hard to tell with that Biketart pic? Thanks

I would think about another car. Just get your wife to Google the safety aspects ,or lack of, of the panda.

I’ve been using boost spacers for ages on different bikes with zero issues I just roughen up the end of the axle and use a dab of super glue to keep the spacer on. I also bought a few spares just incase I lose one on the ride.

Thanks guys I just wanted to start with the white peak as it’s closer to me and I recognise some of the town’s from driving around with work. My fitness isn’t great at the moment hence the request for easier trails to start with. I’ve been riding many years ,like most on here so technical shouldn’t be an issue .

Book early as I think it will be extremely busy online with the limited access.

@tdog it works for me! Basically if the link doesn’t work they are upping the entrance fee to £8 and restricting the parking to 75 cars a day for the foreseeable future.

I hope so as that would be the icing on the cake 👍

Yes I’m going with lighter kit on mine too. I want to have a fast springy steel ht ride again. It is my favourite type of bike if done right (for me).

It’s my first one so I’m going to build it slowly and make it exactly what I want. There is only one orange and one blue frame left now. I’m sure they will think of a new replacement at some point.

Yea I had the same. Contacted crc and got given a refund. Lucky I didn’t need the stem otherwise I would of been peed off with shipping notification but Hermes stating they were still awaiting the parcel.

Talk to Mat at J tech. I’ve found their customer service to be excellent. Highly recommended.

Well I’m looking forward to delivery and seeing how long I can hold off before the parts buying starts. Thanks for the info 👍

I like my full sus bikes but deep down I always prefer a good springy steel hatdtail with about 120 forks. I seem to connect with them more for some reason.

Thanks that sounds encouraging! I’ve gone for a large as I have a large flaremax and it fits well. I’ve hardly got any parts to build it yet so it will be staying in its box for a little while. I’ve always wanted one as I had a chromag samurai years ago and loved it so I’m hoping this feels similar. As they are being stopped it was now or never.

I’ve got a bolt and think it is excellent but I dont do any route stuff but it is so easy and reliable and the battery lasts forever. Its a keeper for me.

Finally got my new shorter air shaft so have fitted mine. If anyone is doing it to a newer style airshaft then there is no Allen key bolt in the top to hold the shaft while undoing the footnut. My little tool worked a treat, glad I made it now.

Sorry guys I’ve decided to fit it to new forks which I’m also putting in a shorter air spring which hasn’t been delivered yet.

I has this issue with mine ages ago and so I bought the red plastic tool to set the jockey wheel to cassette distance and it has been fine since.

I’ve made the clamp as I haven’t got access to a vice and wanted to support the length of it while holding the Allen key and spanner. But thanks for the link.

I’ve made a shaft clamp out of wood so I’m all ready to tackle it tomorrow when my new forks arrive. I know it won’t be too difficult especially now I’ve got the clamp sorted.

I got it from J tech but I ordered it a while back. They are saying more stock mid next month. They were good though and kept me informed all the way through.

Yes your right it’s a 675 mech for 10 speed. I bought it new a few weeks ago as an 11 speed. No wonder I’m having issues! Thanks Dave and Co problem solved.
