I suffer this everyday as I live opposite a young children’s school . I’m at the beginning of a tiny cul de sac and not only do the parents , I do have more colourful names for them than that normally, park over my dropped curb I’ve even come home to find someone parked on my drive with their bumper almost rubbing my front door. School does nothing about it and the drivers couldn’t care less that after a sometimes a 3 hour drive home I cannot park outside or even by my house. People become ignorant when it’s pick the kids up time. And most live in the same road as me.

I can see no point in these unless age and or health problems make them viable. To me the whole point of biking is to push yourself and improve fitness etc as well as have a laugh of course. Their sheer weight and cost puts me off and means I will never own one until the above needs arise.

I’ve got a pendleton two bike rack which is very secure and has its own lighting board etc. I just used it for a week away and it performed excellently. Best bit is though it cost me £10 off the classifieds.

I’ve been to cyb for a week and just back now and covered as well. Never seen so many there as I did this year.

Using a fenix 3 i can’t for the life of me make it upload automatically to strava. When I connect to connect it uploads but never ends up showing in strava however long I wait.

I’ve put plenty of 650b wheels in 26″ rockshox forks and mainly have got away with it. Fox normally have slightly more clearance but my guess is you’d be fine.

My favourite sections are around the golf course . I normally do the main woods first after the short but painful climb up through the cottages then left into the woods, around and about then back up past the golf course entrance and turn right into the best bits.

I’m finding this on my new GT. I was running too much sag, which i sorted, but it’s still happening more often than I’m used to on my other bikes. Time to adapt I guess but I’m still loving the ride. I’m wondering how much 165mm cranks will help and if they will feel odd.

It’s my local ride which I use lots . It’s tame and I’ve come to appreciate that’s why my bikes stay in good condition and hardly ever go wrong. One week in cyb is equal to a year at Woburn of wear .

I had the old sherpa and was always grinning when I rode it as it was fantastic. In hindsight……….

I’ve lived here for over 15 yeasts and I still like it. It’s definitely not as clean as it was when I first moved here but it’s still a great place to live.

Well I’ve done almost back to back runs on the same trail with the different wheels. The end result is the 29+ climb better and roll faster to an extent that I got myself in trouble a few times with almost forgetting the rear had no squish. They seemed harder to turn in on tighter trails as first and I was drifting wide until I made the concious effort to man handle the bike more. The 650b+ wheels were slightly slower but still fast enough and were much easier to flick around on the tighter sections. They seemed slower to climb and not so bulldozerish in there contempt of rocks etc in their way. So in my experience this week I would say the smaller wheels are more fun overall with the larger ones being faster and maybe more for longer higher mileage rides. I will be keeping both sets and swapping over as and when but I can see myself enjoying the 650b+ wheels maybe a little more for my short blasts in my local woods.

Ff29 was a brilliant ride I thought . They can be picked up relatively cheaply. I rode one rigid for 6 months and loved it.

The original manitou forks that came with the bike, magnum comps. I’m not going to buy new forks as I’m wanting a new 29er and I’m very happy with the stache now in 29+ and also 650b+.

I’ve just done a short ride in cyb on the 650b plus wheels. Absolutely loved it, fast comfortable and just blasted over everything much faster than I could normally on a ht. Tomorrow I’m going to do exactly the same route with the 29+ and see what nimbleness I lose and what extra speed I might gain. But I’m definitely impressed with the smaller wheels on the rocks here.
I do agree with what you say above. I’ve not seen the benefits of the plus wheels so much where I live and normally ride but here in Wales it is night and day better .

I never changed my forks just the wheels. I’ve just ridden it down a Welsh rocky trail for about an hour and enjoyed it. I will be swapping the wheels over all week here and will have made my mind up by the end. Maybe.

I’ve done this last week. The bb dropped 10mm and I’m in cyb now about to ride it for the proper first time off road. It’s taken me ages to like the stache 7 I have and now I’ve there I go and change to 650b plus. This week will be the test.

I’m getting one when they become available. I like my Shan 917 enough to give it a go.

I dislike heavy bikes but having bought a few over the last year I’ve come to realise most of the bikes I like , both ht and fs, weigh about the same and are just under 30lb.

I’ve got no comparison but I’ve got a shan 917 650b and its a lovely bike to ride. You will like it.

I’ve just bought a set of 650b+ wheels for my 7. I was worried they would look silly in the frame but they fit lovely, the bb has dropped bang on 10mm. First proper ride is in cyb next wkd when I’m on my hols.

Got to agree with Northwind up there. I have the aeffect cranks on my Shan and they have been simple to install and the cinch system let’s me install a 28 tooth .
