@frankiesdaddy your post proper made me laugh. I went to degla in January and left with exactly the same impression. I’m from the other side of Liverpool and from what I can tell your best bet is over the m6 towards the white peaks.

Cheers mate, it’s not as playful as the banshee at the moment but I’m hoping to get it there 👍

My one will be for sale soon as either a full bike or frame only. I’ve bought my dream ht so it will have to go.

V3 owner here, its a great bike and very versatile. It will easily cover your requirements above.

I know but I bought another bike very soon after, which I shouldn’t of really, and it kind of took the shine off the moxie.

I’ve had a fully built up pink longer for about 6 months or so now and still haven’t ridden it. You will have to let us know what you think, it might encourage me to get on it!

You have to read his Warlord Chronicles, even he says they are his best books and for me are way better than the last Kingdom although I do really enjoy that.

Thanks mate. Now to find a suitable rival or force crankset that I can convert to 1x for my puny legs!

Gently heat it with a hair dryer etc and it curves and sticks really well. Without heat its not so good, like then all.

@rstephenson maybe but the truth is I’ve built it up and because of covid etc I haven’t even ridden it.

I’ve got a super dh and the 3r before it. I like both a lot as the size and fit is good for me. I rarely take the chin bar off unless it’s a long hot climb. If I was buying now I would probably buy the proframe due to the good reviews.

Thanks for all the help guys and the offer dangeourbrain but I went ahead and did it with a spanner, after ordering am 8mm crowsfoot anyway. Front worked well but rear seems to need a bleed now so off to buy some royal blood! It never ends this buying with bikes!

Thanks I’m very nervous about not using one now after reading about how weak the plastic is of the MC.

I am a little concerned that 27.5 will die away for larger sizes and I would like to get myself a decent one now that’s up to date geo wise so I can keep hold of it

Price wise around 2 to 2.5 grand would be good for me. Thanks for all the advice so far guys, I looked at Paul’s Cycles but the rocky mountain frames are not in my size unfortunately as that would of been perfect.

It would be frame only and for trail riding so for me max 150mm travel but probably 120 to 140 would be best. Not fussed about any other parameter eg weight or wait for frame. Thanks

Thanks guys I have messaged Stanton and enquired about the waiting times for a frame.

It does all come down to where and how you ride. All the weight doesn’t matter guys are referring to this stage and that stage where the weight does matter guys seem to be riders out for the laugh and just non competitive riding. I’ve got a selection of bikes and the one that I regularly have the most fun on is a Kona Honzo cr race 29er. Its light enough that I notice the difference everywhere but for my skill and fitness level it doesn’t seem to hinder me. I much prefer a light bike which skims and ” dances” along a trail more than a fast bruiser that’s faster and more stable. YMMV of course but we all seem to ride differently and for different reasons so our bikes and opinions will always be different too.

Families make me laugh. You expect so much more from them but basically they can be **** as much as anyone else can. It’s tough to ignore some of them but as said above it’s probably better to move on and relieve yourself of stress which no one needs nowadays.

I bought a new cx bike, hated it so bought a new gravel bike. Liked it much more but soon got bored of it even though where I live now it makes more sense. Sold it in the first lock down and now am back on mtbs.

I loved the books I read a long time ago so went to watch the first expanse on TV and noticed the first series only had 9 episodes and wiki says it should have ten so haven’t bothered to start it. Shame as I bet its good.

@captainclunkz I don’t think he is saying Knolly are smaller than Intense, which is pretty obvious. He is saying Knolly are going for a company that is smaller and probably less able to defend themselves than spesh etc.

I just built up a Banshee Paradox v3 and it’s great. Not sure it’s in the price range but then a frame and second hand bits can lower the price enormously.

Thanks mate I’m going to use a wooden block ,drill a 27mm hole and then slice it in half. Hopefully my work stand clamp will be strong enough.

Yes mate it is that one . It’s a solid body all the way down with no specific bleed ports. Maybe I will see what it rides like but I’m now concerned it needs filing up with oil so that means taking it apart and topping up and bleeding by means of pumping the lower shaft. Funny thing is the damping works great out of the fork , just hardly noticeable when installed.

Now I have compression dampening when it’s out of the fork and none when it’s in. Looks like a total strip down which means vise blocks and correct oil . Wish me luck. 👍
