sc-xc. You need to sign up using the link, then click through the confirmation email you get sent. £1 is then added to your account. And it doesn’t seem possible to just get a list of albums available. You need to click the “discover” tab, then search for the albums/artists you’re interested in.

The “easter egg” 99p albums do seem to keep changing – some have gone, others have appeared. A good way to check for new ones is to click on the “trending” tab, then on “trending albums” on the list on the left – that gives you a list of the most popular albums at the time.

edit: another way to look for bargains is to search for #Easter, or #Easteregg

VortexRacing – you need to use Facebook to get the £1 price on albums. When you click the link to “Like” a particular album, the price drops to 99p on the site.

I actually quite like the look of those. 😯

I have propedal on for most of the ride (Whyte E-120). I just take it off for long technical DHs or if there’s a lot of small high frequency stuff. I forget about it most of the time tbh.

I changed from Mono M4s to Elixir CRs on my DH bike. Admittedly the M4s were the old lever design (The “Tech” levers are a lot better) but the Elixirs are in a different league as far as power is concerned. They’re a little more fiddly to set up & bleed but are much more powerful and just as progressive.

Mrmuddybum – I got one of These – they sell through amazon and their own website too if you’d prefer. German company but I got mine in 2-3 days. Seems really hard wearing and the Matt, anti-reflective finish seems to help in bright sun.
They were doing 3 for 2 when I got mine too 🙂

I’ve had one since they first came out and love it. The screen could be easier to read for mapping but it’s a very powerful bit of tech. Jamie’s link has a very detailed review of it.

I’d buy a good screen protector straight away though if you’re going to use it off road – its pretty hard wearing but can still scratch.

That XTR “Shadow Plus” jobbie sounds a bit odd – more tension during the ride then switch it off to make wheel removal easier?

The XT stuff does look nice though. Hopefully the price reduction will bring Sram stuff down too 🙂

I found the Gobi really comfy but, as others have stated, they do seem to wear really quickly, especially on the side of the nose. If you want to try one though, last years model can be had on the Bay for around £40

I’ve changed to a Bel Air and love it.

    🙂 @ ourmaninthenorth!

I’m pretty certain it’s not the HRM as it shows a steady increase/decrease, not an abnormal spike. Plus it gets to 203-5 regularly. I haven’t got a particularly low resting HR either but there you go. Not much I can do about it so I’ll just keep going – it’s only my heart after all 🙂

Same problem with the 800. Memory map “may” produce a software update but I wouldn’t hold your breath. The easiest way is probably to upload the logs to garmin connect, then save it as a GPX file. That’s what I tend to do

What, so you guys stick to the trails – Losers! The only way to get down Snowdon is straight down the scree slopes!

The best one I’ve found is from the higher railway bridge on the Llanberis track – straight down to the road from there is proper “techy” 8)

You’re not far from Coed y Brenin if you’re close to Machynlleth.

No – you’re right. I wasn’t expecting anything particularly impressive. I’m just surprised it got a score that high to be honest. There were some quite favourable comments on LoveFilm so I though it would at least be entertaining. As it was, I can’t think of anything good to say about it!

Jeremy Vine is a complete twonk but you have to admit, he’s very good at what he does – ie, stir up public opion. Look at the number of posts on here whenever anything to do with cycling is mentioned.

Choice is what makes the world a better place. I rather like it myself 😉

lol – yeah, I know. Best to deal with the organ grinder eh ? 😉

Trip to CyB would be good, especially with a guide. I love the place and it would be great to see some of the quieter bits of riding there :).

I did the same – lent the bike up against a stump on a windy day. Turned round as it crashed down, fork first, onto the adjacent rock. Only a small scratch but I know it’s there and it’s soooo annoying 👿

yes renting saves you money and landlords do it as some sort of social duty it is philanthropy really and no landlord makes money out of it so it must be cheaper to rent obviously.

    😀

Having said that, there’s no harm in renting until you’re a bit more stable/sure of your job/prospects/likelhood of staying in the area etc etc. Not wanting to patronise but a mortgage is a pretty big commitment to a job/area

edit – I think that was patronsing after all wasn’t it 😳 IGMC

Actually though planet x bikes cut out the middle man as its an own brand product so margins are possibly higher for those bikes.

Have you seen the deals they offer? I doubt very much they run on much of a margin. They just offer high value, high volume sales. I got a carbon road bike with full Ultegra groupset for under £1000!

I bought a PX road bike on the BTW scheme last year. I saved the 10% fee as I dealt direct with them and my boss (avoided cycle scheme). I think it’s fair enough though given they run on high volume tight margin sales. If you’re not using the cycle to work scheme you get the cheapest possible price, if you are, they have to up it a bit. That’s the price – if you don’t like it go elsewhere (Ribble etc as others suggest).

I’m not sure where the “fitting” fee comes in. They sometime charge £100 to build the bike for you (if not, you get a box full of bits – which was a highlight for me:)) but they’re throwing that in for nowt with the current deals. They certainly weren’t charging for fitting you with the right bike last year.

The original Pink Heifer was a more natural route that flowed around the area covered by the current way-marked stuff. It’s still rideable for the most part but some sections are “interesting”.

I’d help if I could but I’ve only ridden sections of it and don’t have GPS logs of them I’m afraid. I’ve always thought there must be more off piste stuff round there but very little info on the web.

They’ve always replied to emails I’ve sent and have fantastic customer service but yes, they do tend to advise you go to your LBS/place of purchase rather than dealing direct.
