When you drop the psi there is a greater chance of your tyre not being seated properly and possibly bouncing you up and down as it goes out of shape.
Finding the psi sweet spot for your riding style/weight can be a pain and if you have cheap tyres then it’ll be even more tricky.Good tyres cope with the lower psi better and some cheap ones will be a right pain in the arse to keep seated at any psi 😐

Have you ever tried Airbnb? Stayed in some great places in Canada with them and it was v.cheap. There are 300+ places for Hanoi when you look on their site.

I haven’t found the limits of the floaters yet but I have ridden them in mud, floods and on the beach and found them very capable. I think if i lived in a more rugged area of the country they might struggle. When I built up my fatty they were only £20 which was a strong deciding factor! They are a sod to seat when you first put them on but i lubed up the beads with fairy liquid and left them overnight with 25 psi in them and they’ve been fine since.

The whole fat bike thing is about having FUN!! Forget your Strava trophy that you got from ebay for being the quickest person up the road outside your house and the whole ‘i must goes as fast as possible’ mantra and go out there and ride the blummin’ thing just for the hell of it!
Bimble across landscapes previously unrideable on other bikes, soak up the great outdoors and then when you get home go onto the uk fat bike forum and enjoy probably the most chilled out and helpful forum on the net!
Haven’t touched any of my other bikes since i got into the fat scene at the start of this year.

This is my On-One Fatty trail which i had powder coated semi-gloss black by the good people at AS powder coating in Acton Suffolk. No powder coat in the threads and I was very pleased with it for £50 (frame only)
Oh and yes this does answer the question about putting a rigid fork on a Fatty trail it rides brilliantly!

Give the powerball a go it’s a great way to strengthen lots of bits in your wrists/arms/hands and you can start off really gentle with it and gradually build up so it’s great for a recovery from injury. I’m on my third one now

Saints get my vote.Comfy, solid build quality and adjustable pin heights with the included washers.Best pedal i’ve used in ten years! So nice to have your foot stay where you want/need it to be when the going gets a bit rough/loopy.

Ate crunchy nut cornflakes until i ran out of milk then finished off all the crumpets in the house with creamery butter.Breakfast out of the way i went for a ride then returned home ravenous.Early lunch was 2 stacked quarter pounders (home made beauties!) with a cinema size pack of M&M’s for desert.
Might suggest a takeaway pizza to her indoors when she gets home from work…

His garmin recorded a speed of 20mph and showed the time of the accident. He had laid in the road for 90 mins before being found by a member of the public (very quiet road I know well myself). What’s scary about this is the amount of these forks out there still. The matter has been reported to trading standards.
    A good man lost.

Isn’t learning to ride a bike that’s obviously too big for you all part of growing up and learning to ride anyway?

Had similar probs.Ended up using the plain plastic Acor end plugs which have various size fins on the side. They go in easy, stay in and don’t deform if you have to dig them back out for whatever reason so you can re-use them.
    £2.39 on ebay.

I’m six foot and i’ve got a on one inbred which fits really well.Love riding it and have it set up with a on one rigid fork and big 2.5 tyres (tons of space for big tyres in the frame and forks) its not a fat bike maybe more semi-skimmed !!I’ve got a full susser but for simple fun the inbred is great and has a lot of fans among the steel lovers.Build it up yourself with bargain but good bits and you’ll be grinning like a cheshire cat everytime you ride it.

Spent about two years delivering furniture in a merc sprinter van all over the uk and it was great to drive and had bags of space. These things go on forever and the one i used had 180,000 miles on it and still launched from the slip road to the fast lane of any motorway you pointed it at like a whippet!
There’s 1000’s of them on the roads which shows you just what a workhorse they are. If it was my £4K i wouldn’t waste my time looking at anything else.

Love my on one inbred and they’re great value.Handles superb and has bags of space for big fat tyres. They’ve been churning these out for yonks so they must be doing something right!

Been driving my basic vw caddy for four years now and I love it.Drives like a golf and returns good mpg but best of all when my big full susser is caked in mud I can just wheel it into the back and throw a bungy over it to keep it in place on the drive home.Mine has done over 120,000 now and drives like its only got half that on the clock.
You know you want a caddy really so in the words of Mrs Doyle: “go on go on go on go on GO ON!!!”

Been driving a Caddy SDI for the last two years and yes it is slow to 60mph but its top end is ok for UK roads.Loads of space in the back and very reliable.Good mpg.Had a Citroen Berlingo van before and the Caddy feels like a much safer place to be than the old french bean can !!

Had a wood burner in our last house and have an open fire in this one.Wood burner produces loads more heat and is more controllable but open fire is good for the soul (and for defrosting your feet after a winter ride!) If you are using wood from a friend make sure you keep it for a year to season it before you burn it.Hardwood burns longer and churn out more heat.Oh yes and don’t forget to raise two fingers to the money grabbing energy companies as you’re sat in front of the fire!!

Big serrated edged rat trap (big mouse trap with teeth) and peanut butter on bread as bait.Might be a good idea to put it in a box with only a small entrance just to stop wandering children getting a wif of peanut butter and loosing a finger!

Don’t go to Thetford whatever you do!!!
You’ll explode or go mad or something it really is so bad you can’t imagine it!! There is absolutely no point in going there and parking on the Brandon side at the visitors centre with its yummy cake and cheap car parking to ride the endless miles of un-mapped trails hidden away in the Brandon side of the forest.
Honest Guvnor theres no point what so ever. 😉
