well back from my ride what can I say,it’s quick my god it’s quick kick hard on the flat, uphill or down and I was pulling away from riding companions and some what leaving them behind which with me onboard was a bit of a shock  as for the don’t like going round corners what a load of old **** went round the same tight twisty speeder bike woodsy corners that my old 26er did and I couldn’t tell any difference :-) just got sort out the contact points how I like them and I think i’ll be and even happier bunny

ex army folding spade can be used for digging, hoeing and general chopping/thrashing(nettles) and folding saw for pruning tree branches both fit in a decent sized pack would add a swiss army type knife for general small cutting jobs and some para cord for tying things together, all of the above can be brought super cheap from your local army surplus store or ebay.
wouldn’t hide anything as if found will either get nicked or give the game away to what your up to,pack it in pack it out and tidy up after your self and don’t go in mob hand too many of you and the land owner will find out like I said ninja style works best good luck

p.s should add look at IMBA website for tips for trail building :-)

little and often so as not to draw attention if you spend to long i.e all day your going to run into the land owner sooner or later and they might not be happy  so better to stop while passing through and change/modify little bits at a time so it doesn’t get noticed

got a pair of half cab airwalks from there for about £25 at the beginning of the year work well with my flats and the extra ankle padding is good for taking the sting out of stone/stick strikes.

north east Essex some hills short and sharp and lots of wooded singletrack so tend to see lots of hardtails and shortish travel fs but not many 29ers yet!!

me I run 100mm travel hardtail but going to upgrade to trail fs very shortly

can’t agree with you rusty spanner I think there has been a marked upswing in the last two or three issues even when I thought that it had taken a bit of a dip back at the tail end of last year still found a article or two that i could get into.
as far as £3000+ bikes never gonna buy one but still good to read about them and the tyre test i was hoping for some 650b tyres as that the direction iam thinking of going when i buy a new bike later this year(for the record i’ll be slapping down about £2300)

moved into new house a few years ago cables plus switch for outside light already there on rear wall by backdoor so got an outside light and started to fit it made sure the switch was off when I got the blanking plate off there were two red live cables and in a blond moment tested which one was still live one with my fingers woke up on the lawn about 5 feet away with wife looking down at me asking why all the electrics had tripped in house.

caliper mount doesn’t appear to be attached to frame in first photo but you should be able to get this done at any half decent frame builder

esher quoting from the kmc website who produce 2 million chains a day and would really like you buy quite a few more hence there advice to put oil onto dirty chain hence producing grinding paste thus wearing out your chain so you go out and buy another and round and round you go :-)

if I read it right hes not talking about “sanding” the shaft but lightly “buffing” the ano on the shaft as micromesh is a fine nylon mesh a bit like a pan scourer so if used correctly should not take any of the metal off just buff the ano so long as done correctly shouldn’t cause any problems do this all the time at work(forklift service engineer)
