When I was an apprentice saw to guys in the machine shop go at it hammer and tongs one had been winding the other up for years ended when one of them cracked the other across the head with a hammer didn’t kill him but police and all turned up both got the sack.
Had a boss poke me in the chest when I told him I was leaving to go work for another firm(competitor)didn’t do anything just walked out of room, saw him a few months later at a winter beer festive in town waited until he went outside for a smoke then kick the living day lights out of him felt good at the time, but spent next few months waiting for the police to knock on our door so not worth it in the long run.
Christ and I thought we had it bad with log man in Colchester I hope who ever did this gets caught as an aside we taught log man a lesson as we kept removing a certain log and a few days later it was back in place again,so saved up some “waste material”and applied to all hand holds on said log needless to say a few days later log had moved but not made it back onto trail job done
stumpytom Colchester is my local loop went on anight ride the day after the wolves escaped news was saying that all shot dead or back in zoo but belive me made for a nervous ride.
normal see rabbits, deer, various birds of prey and a few doggers lol
I don’t much is going to change most pcso I’ve come across know next to nothing about the law and most of them would have trouble catching up with me if I was walking with my bike let alone riding it
Think t666dom might have something with the glare the last couple of issues I’ve had trouble reading in bed by lamp light but when I’ve sat down in front room next day in natural light it been ok(ish)(need glasses but also in denial) :?
Got the older model in my pack as a back up/repair light, use it quite a lot on night rides at our stop off point ie talking rubbish and eating handy when I need to find things in my pack and don’t want 1000lumens blinding me while doing it.
Assuming junkyard is talking about living on 12v he’s talking about great big leisure battery’s which are quite a bit different to your average car battery as a forklift service engineer we advise customers with gas or diesel trucks(mainly vw engines) that if they are not using them for any longer than a week to disconnect pos and neg leads as this slows discharge(still happens just not as quick because not in a complete circuit)when put back onto truck truck should be run for a min of 2hrs to fully condition battery
Do like a cold dry night ride do have a slightly different winter route to summer as some bits of summer route turns into swamp during winter but dry out in summer :-)
personaly would paint first carpet last, buy some cheap rugs in the mean time never know you might come to like floor boards and yes bathroom fitters will make a mess 8O

I have the next model up (fuel ex6 29er)had it about a month or so and so far so good, first 29er I’ve had so nothing to compare it to on that front but it’s is FAST covers ground like nothing else I’ve had, shock and fork and rear linkage is excellent, specs not bad a few things I would upgrade but as I tend to keep bike quite a while that would be happening anyway,GO test one I think you’ll like it :D
About 1 month new bike been looking for about 7months so plenty of time to negotiate with other half :D bike bits about 2weeks ago chain oil and inner tube don’t have to run that passed other half as below level to require negotiations
For me when the fs itch started I spent a fair bit of time test riding bikes 26ers,650b and 29ers ended up with a Trek Fuel ex 29er but iam a bit taller than you(5′ 10″) and so far it’s been everything I hoped it would be so don’t rule out 29ers but test, test and test again :-)
Hello ska-49 fellow Colchester rider here were they your fat tyre tracks I keep seeing in Friday woods?? Thought there was one on the prowl but never saw it :-)
It was the how much to change bearings threads that prompted me starting this thread and as an engineer have no shortage of skills and tools to do the job my self but would like to prolong the time before I have to do it and as the hard tail is sitting at the back of garage unused at mo so trying to justify to myself(+wife) why I should keep it.
quick blast on Sunday round local loop during brief weather window we had here in the south east,VERY damp with some monster puddles, glad of long hot shower and multiple coffees when i got home :-)
Yep out in the 4hr weather window(no rain)we had round here at midday very slippy and some monster puddle all good fun mind you did come back looking like I had been dipped in a very large vat of mud made the long hot shower and multiple coffees even better :-)
