was spose to be going out tomorrow for a ride round the local loop with my brother but he’s just laughed me off and as its my 40th birthday on sunday decided to have a weekend off(getting VERY drunk instead) :D 8)

wouldn’t of been easier to buy say somthing like a fargo thats already set up to do this kind of trip and proven?. anyway have a good trip hope you raise some money

out every wed night usally only me and my brother sometime another mate but night riding in the mud just makes it more fun as for cleaning the bike after ive always been a bit slack in that dept and that not going to change :D

saw it inbetween crimbo and new year knew nothing about the book and knew there was a euro version film wise but not seen anything of it thought it was a good film,product placment was a bit blatant volvo,mac book,etc but good film never the less.

sticking with tubes as i only get about 2/3 punctures a year so not really a prob even on the side of the trail at night can get the whole shebang done in about 10 mins inc a quick wee break in the middle :-)

dog in a hat book and some trojan cd’s off the missus
slx chainset,front mech and cassette off mum in law and family
bottle of 10 year old talisker off my 2year old son(with help from wife)
bottle of 10year old jura from my brother
singletrack sub from my mum and dad (continue on from last year)

love the mud just makes the same trails diffrent really like the challanges that wet roots etc bring to the ride and as i ride singlespeed just put the bike back in the shed till next ride,walk in the house strip in kitchen and put riding gear in washing machine job done head for shower 8)

22month old one was up at 6am this morning full of beans and wanting to play and it was my turn to get up(bugger!!)currently pushing cars up and over me as i sit here typing watching jen on channel five

as a work life long engineer have got more scar tissue than skin left on my hands so don’t ever get cuts or grazes whilst working on my bike hands are just to leathery as for nitrile gloves they are no tougher than latex gloves they came about because some people are allergic to latex so can’t wear latex gloves but they both do a good job of keeping dirt,grease and oil off your hands

got some 3/4 hummvees that are getting on for 4 years old had to repair the stiching around the crotch but no biggy still going strong

went out for a two and half hour spin with my bro and his mate round the local loop add a few woody techy bits that i didn’t know about so good ride all in all very windy out of the woods not to muddy which is nice :D

weird my brother ordered a bike thro them wasn’t in stock kept him informed all the way along said it would be in in 10days turned up within a week no probs

just like to say in no way iam i or my brother connected just really impressed with there service.

funny that theres a fallen tree on a really good trail that might just magically move on sunday afternoon :wink:

had a right nightmare on wednesday night left my inhaler on the kitchen table had to go back to get it everyone i was with was very cool about but from then on in couldn’t find my mojo every bump was a mountain all muddy puddles were about a foot deep and sucked down my wheel all in all a nightmare but off out on sunday so i hope my mojo is waiting by the back door as normal :D :wink:

ive walked from last employer (did have somthing else lined up)told my boss exactly what i thought of him and his managment style industry iam in is a small world so do normal have to be a bit careful what you say and to whom but this guy was a complete t**t so it needed saying whatever got out and about.

just returned from a great family meal out read all of the above and thought i had better clarify some points 1;- this “footpath” didn’t go to there house just a farm yard 2;- the farm is on army land so tennets 3;- the irony is that the tone of her voice surggested that we were causing damage to this road/footpath when she was in a dirty great big 4wd pick up causing more damage to the footpath and the enviroment than are two little bikes 4;- the law is an ass and if its ridable i’ll ride it and not give a flying f***.

at a party with a mate of mine i said very loudly to him that i bet him a tenner that if i took a dump in his pint that he wouldn’t drink it he agreed so off i went to the toilet moulded a turd out of a snickers bar(called marathon back then)got peanuts and everything popped it in his pint and returned to the room handed him the pint and he drank it and when pretend turd slide down the glass he took a massive bite out of it que everyone within earshot projectile vomiting :evil:

good luck and stay positive as someone who has had a lump of flesh removed from my left leg due to skin cancer i can tell you that you should get back most of your feeling after a few years(took about 3years for most of the feeling to come back in my shin area)be warn tho its a very weird feeling when it does kinda tingle with slight icthy feeling very weird :D

not to bad up here in north east essex(colchester)mainly sand on top of clay so drains so long as we don’t have non stop rain over a few day can get boggy after that friday woods miltary trainning ground(open to public) is a fave local loop

brought a brand new house paid 210 did part exchange so the developer brought my old house for 113 and 11 months on they still havn’t shifted my old house live in Essex

have to agree with nedrapier i ride on army training land in colchester and no way would i abuse soliders if i stumbled into them whilst there on exercise as not only are they tooled up and hard they are also bored and pi*sed off because they have spent x amount of days soaking wet and running around in circle thats only going to lead to on conclusion and that solider 1 mtb’s 0(ie you get a kicking)that said in friday woods training ground they tend to tape areas off with red mine tape if they don’t want you in there.

five armed bushes stood up in front of me whilst on a night ride last year turned out to be members of the paras on exercise(ride in a miltary training ground) had a very surell conversation about mountain bikes with them for about 15mins turned out they were all well into there bikes very weird.

sorry to break it to you but most pro theives use plumbers freeze and a largeish hammer to break your lock thus bypassing your big bad chain you need a bigger lock(hint hint)

not had any problems so far 18 months so far do agree that 2:1 ratio is not a practical one i run 34:18 and works for me here in north east essex(smallish short sharp hills).

iam quite lucky my work allows for quite flexiable starts and finishes so like tonite i knew i was going out for a ride tonite so started early and finished early(16:00)sandwich and couple of coffees,out at 18:00 2hr ride home get washed and changed have tea after that.

i did mech engineering thro ou really enjoyed my course and they were really great when i had problems half way into my 2nd year they allowed me to come back and re do some of my course work so which ever one you pick have a great time and enjoy.

nope would carry on never had to go to hospital with a biking related accident mind you only had one semi serious bike accident and that was on a bmx landed funny and hard and bent my prince albert(not the bike) :wink: and there was no way i was going to hospital to get that sorted out waited for the swelling to go down and took it out with a pair of circlip pliers myself dead hard me(not really rolled around on the floor and cried like a girl when it happened). :D

talking to my brother about doing a camping trip across dartmoor (up to down,left to right or something like that)stopping off at as many pubs as possible inc the drewe arms most likly to happen next may!!
