Cheers for the feed back guys.

Managed to pick up a pair of new unbuilt Dually in silver with silver Hope Pro II hubs off the classifieds. Going to look spanking on the Blue Rooster with the rest of the silver finishing kit I’ve got 😀

Having moved a few years ago to an area which is 30 miles away from my riding buddies I have no choice but to explore!

Loft the bars on the silly 24″ cruiser (now sold as was obviously bikes fault). Fail to cover back brake and end up landing coccyx first on nice flat concrete! Roll around said concrete for about 15 minutes trying to regain breath. Once i realise that i can still feel my legs gingerly stand up and fail due to shooting pain up spine.

Couldn’t walk upright or sit down for about 10 days. Stupid bl00dy small wheeled bike 😳

You can take out a normal income protection policy for piece of mind but make sure you declare you are a mountain biker under the hazardous pursuits question so they are aware of it.

Mortgage Advisor. I’d love it if it wasn’t for the lenders, public, estate agents and solicitors 😉

Joking aside I do actually enjoy it and am glad I stuck with it when times were tough in 2008-2010!

I’ve got a pair of Specalized 2FO on order in the hope that as they are less shoe like they should have a bit of give 😕

It’s looking like if I want a back swept bar then I’d be fine with mtb brakes and shifters but anything with a drop will need new levers/shifters!

Does a Chris King fit? Fancy some bling 😯

Looking forward to seeing pictures of some of the builds 😀

Oh those Manitous are tempting but think I’ll wait a while before pushing the button. At that price i can’t see them selling out to quickly!

Just realised that I bought a load of bits a few months ago to build up a new bike for the gf’s which hasn’t/ins’t now going to happen as my need is greater 😆

Just got to decide on black or silver finishing kit for it is guess but as I got the Swift Blue one coming then I’m leaning towards sliver Thomson stem, and post with some sunline risers I have laying around.

Anyone got any ideas on wheels other than the Surley Rabbit Hole or Hugo?

rOcKeTdOg is that the retro fit fork Sam is talking about? If so what is the max tyre size that can be fitted?

But the Stooge is so pretty, worth hanging on for the larger frame imo. I have an older swift which im hoping to get 29+ forks for but the Stooge sounds like a cross between what my Swift will be and what my old Banshee Paradox was!

Cheers Andy for the info. I’m in West Sussex so a bit of a trek to yours but cheers for the offer. I’m not in a screaming hurry and looking more towards the end of the year so will keep my eyes peeled and have liked your fb page as am sure it’ll be announced on there.

    Sweet looking ride btw.

At 6’5″ are these going to come up too small as i dont like long stems and huge amounts of seat post showing! Anyone my size got a pic they can post please?

Hi Sam. The forks you mention, are they 1 1/8 steerer or tapered? If they are 1 1/8 then I’ll take one!

Ok cheers. If your friend decides he doesn’t want the front wheel any chance I can be next in line Please?

Fork wise I think I’d get the Surly one as think that would fit the Swift frame!

It’s the grip up front I am interested in initially and then if I like it I would look to go + front and back.

You mention that you used it upfront on your Swift so was this on the new froks or the older light blue ones? I only ask as I have the light blue Swift at the moment so this would make trying it a feasable option rather than having to change the whole bike!

So do you ride 26 or 29 currently weeksy? If 29 was the response on any more technical stuff noticeably better than on the 29er?

NormalMan – I’d be interested to hear your thoughts when you are a bit further down the line.

Kuoni won’t even pay the cost of someone calling home from the hotel 😯 Educationals like this sound like a great part of the job but they aren’t fun. 8am – 10pm for 10 days straight with 16 hours travelling at either end of the stay!

They really are a piss take of a company to work for 🙄

Not too worried if she has a big bill as we’ll just deal with it but was confused how it was cheaper on my bill as didn’t realise she’d be paying to receive calls.

Unless she has a local phone provider she’ll be paying quite a lot of money to receive your phone calls on her mobile.
This…- you only pay uk-uk mobile, she picks up the roaming side of it.

Even with the data roaming switched off on her phone ?

Always baffled me how some of these idiots thought they were going to get a job the way they interviewed.

Had one guy turn up to our small open plan office where all the desks can be seen from outside including mine and put his tie on in reception but didn’t bother to tuck his shirt in. It was a very short interview as was for a customer facing role.

Another when asked why he wanted to train as a financial advisor just shrugged and looked at his feet. I think his mum had insisted he turn off his x-box and go look for a job!

Ok there is nothing to stop this happening and in fact it can be quite common practice with some agents, this isn’t to say it’s right.

It is unlikely that the FA will be able to get a better price for your mate on the property but they are just trying to tie him to using the agents advisor on the basis that “I got you a good price on the property on the basis you use me for the mortgage”!

If i were your mate I’d also be wary of someone who knows what the maximum I can afford to go to and who relies on the agents who are selling the property he is looking to buy negotiating a price for me because your bargaining position is compromised. It’s like playing poker with your cards face up on the table while everyone one else holds theirs close to their chest!

Data protection act should apply but won’t cover this I’m afraid.

To be fair if this is the only way the FA can get clients to use him then there is something wrong with him and/or the agents. It’s underhand but does happen and currently if people are stupid enough to believe that the FA will get them a better price then buyer beware. Again I’m not saying it’s right but there is very little protection for buyers when it comes to agents trying to keep everything in house.

It’s an area that keeps on being bought up as unfair but no one seems willing or able to do anything about it.

This is all said as an FA of 15 years who relies on agents passing me business and NEVER having had too resort to these sorts of tactics!

Tell your mate to deal with the agents directly himself and use who he feels comfortable with for the mortgage and legal work.

    Good luck 🙂

So is the FA handling the negotiations between the estate agents who act on behalf of the seller and potential buyer (i assume this is your colleague)?
