Claim already started but also don’t want the new owner to be without a frame for any longer than needed hence investigating repair options 🙂

So a set of 10 spd shifters would work with a 9spd mtb block and 9spd rear mech?

Why the 9 speed rear mech?

I’ve had 3 Swifts and loved them all. They handle everything that general XC riding will throw at you without flattering rubbish riding.

Moved from 100mm Manitou’s to rigid and then fitted a 29+ upfront. All were great fun to ride.

Having said this I prefer my Rooster which is like a Swift only better IMO 😉

Had similar over the past 3 years where I’d pick up the bike for 1 or 2 rides a year and then only for 1-2 hour blasts. Did also consider selling it as just wasn’t using it.

Getting back in to it now and so pleased I kept the bike. If I hadn’t when the mood took me to restart it would have meant a large outlay of cash which would have undoubtedly put me off.

Keep it as I’m sure at some point you’ll think to yourself ‘you know what, I fancy going for a spin’

Why having just built up my Rooster do I still hanker over the Stache? 😕

Cheers for the info myopic. I have come to the conclusion that 2×11 is indeed a cog too far! Most of the time I’ll be fine with 1×11 and when I’m not I’ll just have to MTFU and get on with it 😆

NM I must say I’m really surprised to hear this. I got my frame over a month ago now and have bought 4 frames from Sam in the past. On every occasions he has been a pleasure to deal with and responded swiftly (24-48 hours) to any emails I have sent. Are you sure you have the correct email address?

    It’s a proper Shimano M8000 crank which is a 2 ring crank.

Few mm won’t cut it unfortunately so moving the EBB across a few mm won’t make a real difference.

Not really keen to fit a boost crank as have just paid out £125 for the M8000 one which has been fitted so can’t really be returned. Also not sure that 3mm is going to be enough to stop any rubbing and sucking (oh er) when riding!

Does anyone who is running a double upfront care to share which tyres they are using as I know different makes and models come up differently on size and I’m running 29×3 Knards so possibly switching to a different one might help 😕

Right my build is nearly finished and I’m itching to get out on it but am having trouble with the front mech!

I have a band mounted mech but can’t get clearance in the smaller ring, does it only work with a direct mount front mech?

Must admit that I wish I’d gone for the carry anything front forks 🙁

4 slices of left over Pepperoni, spicy pork and Jalapeño pizza with left over home made Jerk chicken. All washed down with a packet of spicy niknaks and a cuppa tea, and I wonder why I can’t lose weight 😕

Speak to a broker. A lot of the non high street lenders are better at dealing with the self employed than a high street bank. Some will work from just the latest years figures and some will do other weird and wonderful things.

Make sure whoever you speak to is whole of market (like myself) as a lot of brokers work from a limited panel. You shouldn’t need to pay anything for the initial consultation.

So nice to be able to commute by bike again.

Even though it wasn’t the coastal commute from Worthing to Hove that I had a few year back with the views that had I have found some rather nice wooded off road bits with gravel, roots and a few small bombholes to keep it interesting.

A nice 15-20 minute spin each way to start and end the day in the centre of creepy Crawley!

Can’t quite believe what I have just read.

She worked at my LBS in Worthing when I was first getting in to cycling. I always remember her general enthusiasm and bright personality as being truly infectious and she always had a smile on her face.

    Such sad news 😥

Working in a small office with only 4 full time employees we only got hot water 4 months ago, 2 years after the office opened! No chance of lockers or showers unfortunately 🙁

I’m going to take a shirt a day in with me to begin with and then might look at keeping a few there on a rolling basis kept in a suit bag hung on the back of the kitchen door!

Oh I’ll be going slowly for sure! 😆

Cheers for the ideas guys. Going to try the rolling method using a towel to begin with and will move on from there.

The 2FO are great for on and off the bike. Had a few rides in mine and are the most comfy spd shoes I’ve used and that from some one with big and wide feet with high instep!

I miss riding on the South Downs. Crawley is a bloody no mans land for mtb’ers unless you want to get in your car and drive for 30 mins!

I’ve tried various combos of flat v’s riser and stem lengths. Currently running a 70mm stem with Sunline risers as the flat bars didn’t feel right. Just got some Mary Bars which I’m looking forward to trying soon.

It’s too personal for anyone else to say what is right and what is wrong!

As someone who works in an estate agents (I’m not an agent myself) I see first hand the work that a good agent puts in and how they can smooth over issues to the point that a vendor doesn’t even know they are issues!

There are a lot of awful agents out that do nothing for their money but a good agent will normally get you more for your property and take away a lot of the hassle of selling.

A lot of agent will work for 0.5% or £2500 plus vat depending on which is the lower. Given the difference of this compared to an on-line agent fees I’d pay the extra. It seems people agree with that statement by and large otherwise the on-line agents would be a lot more prolific by now.

Just my 2p’s worth from someone on the inside!

Possibly but when I was running 2.25’s on the 29er HT I was at 38psi on the back and even then they weren’t solid!

I have my user name for a reason 😳

God if I ran it below 20psi I’d be on the rims!

Suffered from gout for 10+ years now with 2-3 bad attacks a year plus other annoying joint pain for about 6 months of the year so you have my sympathy. I have it in the ankle, big toe and once over Xmas I had it in both knees at the same time which was interesting!

There is lots written about it and what you should/shouldn’t do but it can be a trial and error situation.

Personally I find that Goji berries, black cherries, cherry juice, water (lots) and celery all help regulate the uric acid levels. Low fat dairy food is fine but I tend to avoid beer, wine (all colours), shell fish, offal, red meat, spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, pulses such as lentils, chick peas etc and beans.

Look for foods that are low in Purines as this can cause the imbalance in Uric Acid levels.

Rest your foot and keep it elevated, nothing like a bit of rest to help with the swelling.

    Good luck.

Stevemorg2 are you running a direct mount front or a traditional band mounted?

    Looking good guys. 😀

Nearly got all my bits together to build mine up but after a ride on Saturday have realised that i am not currently in a fit state to go 1×11 so will have an XT double upfront! I assume the clearance will be fine?

Also are there any more knobbly options for tyres as I’m not convinced that the likes of a Knard will be any good in the winter 😕

I’ve not got half the bits I need and not had time either! Still need running gear, wheels built etc. Basically the frame is still in it’s bubble wrap! 🙁

Hoping someone has got theirs together?
