    Hi again.
Been riding that track for 20+ years and only had one comment from a walker as I rode past him that it was a footpath.
It was my group that named angry man- he’s accosted us 3 times about riding past his house even though it’s legal. It’s recently been on the market for £2.5 million!!!!
He even chased down the road after us in a Land Rover to chastise us for riding too fast down the track.
    He’s a dick!!!!

    Hi
I’m bang on 6ft and riding an XL with a 35mm stem and it’s spot on for general trail riding.
As said above if you want something more flickable go L.
I went to the factory to check them out and they were happy for me to take both sizes out to try. Unfortunately it was peeing down so I just did a car park test and the L felt a little short especially stood up which is why I went for the XL.
    Hope that helps

    Hi
We ride it regularly and we call it watery lane as it gets wet but still rideable.
    I always feel
It’s uphill both ways!!!!! Fun though!
    Enjoy.

    Hi
I currently have a Superduke GT but find I’m over bikes for most riding and have a fancy for some mild off roading.
Currently considering one of these but think it may be a bit cumbersome or maybe an 890 Adventure R to cover general touring duties on poor road surfaces.
Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro and BMW 850GS also in the mix.
Planning some demos shortly but interested in views

    Hi
I have an Husqvarna and it worked well up until this year. Saved lots of time and effort cutting the lawn and for some reason the moss issue has disappeared.
When I went to set it away this spring the 7,8 &9 on the keypad won’t recognise an input.
Unfortunately my PIN includes this so can’t currently use it.
Any thoughts or is it just scrap. It’s a few years old so……….

    @crashrash
I have the new Tallboy and it’s a fantastic all round trail bike.
I also have a V1Following and they are different beasts.
The Following is more “play” than “trail” but not ridden the latest version.
For comparison I would say though that the Tallboy and Following compare better than the Offering.

    Hi
I have a V4 Tallboy and it makes a fantastic all round trail bike.
It’s not stupidly light at around 29lb with a nice build but it’s just hugely capable as a trail centre, moors, woods etc all rounder.
Currently has a 130 fork but would happily take a 140 too
Also consider Evil The Following maybe

    Hi
I’ve recently returned to it following some time away. Don’t really know why I stopped looking for a while but the poorer weather has found me browsing instead of riding so this may be why.

I think the site is good with some interesting stuff and I hope it continues-I’ve contributed to a couple of threads in the last couple of weeks but find for many I don’t have anything to add.

    Hi
Also just as a comparator I have a Hope HB 130 and demoed L and XL.
I could have gone either way and settled on the XL with the saddle well forward in the seatpost clamp.
Again not sure if that helps or not.

    @Maurice
I was at the Pace shop last week talking to Adrian Carter and he said at 6ft with a 32” inside leg was between a large and XL.

If I was taller I’d definitely go XL
Not sure if that helps or not

Cheers for all of your suggestions.
Kirroughtree was good today but very technically challenging (for me anyway). Definitely haven’t got the legs for another loop of it.
Not thought of Drumlanrig but decided to do Mabie tomorrow just to tick it off my list.
I’ve got the chance to return to the area next week for a few days so will do Ae and Drumlanrig then.

    Hi
I swapped the SRAM 12sp on my Hope for XTR as I prefer the multiple shifting and the position of the levers. Just didn’t gel with the XO after years of Shimano
Also use XTR on my Tallboy and find it very light and crisp to be honest.
I would say it’s a very positive and definite “click” though for each change and seems more so than in my 11sp Shimano (both XTR and XT)

    Hi
As above re Evil The Following for a fun play in the woods type of bike. I have a V1 and love it for that.
After a short travel trail bike I considered a Ripley V4 but went for a Santa Cruz Tallboy 4 in the end.
Very capable as a well rounded trail bike as opposed to a pure xc bike.

    Hi
I recently swapped an 11 speed Shimano freehub for a 12 speed microspline one on these hubs.
One just pulls off and the other pushes on.
Everything you need is in the bag it comes in or it was in my case.
    Thanks

    Hi
I have a V1 set up with a Fox 36 Talas set at 135mm (and can extend to 150 for steeps although I rarely do)
Rear shock is Fox DPS Which I find way better than the Rockshox one.
Seat angle means it’s not as good a climber as some but I’m still happy to take it anywhere including Dales, NYM, Lakes and trail centres.
Very fun poppy bike which just makes you grin.
I find the limitations are my skill levels not the bikes
As said above be careful with sizing-I’m 6’ on a Large and should have gone XL. I got conflicting advice from two different shops and went the wrong way.
It’s not a deal breaker but a bit more room would be good.

    Hi
    I would echo MRanger.
I’m the same body type as him and ride the same bike and have none of the issues you describe.
FYI the shock can be changed-mine came with the same as yours and I’ve fitted a Fox Kashima DPS which is much more tuneable.
My fork is a Fox 36TALAS which I run at 135mm normally and extend to 150occasionally for proper steep lakes descents.
It’s an awesome bike so I think as others have said this is a set up problem

    Hi
I use Outdoors GPS and found it pretty good.
It’s £20 a year but I’ve used it regularly so happy to pay.
Can be a little slow to load or update depending on signal (I guess) but it’s stopped me getting lost a few times
Using it a lot at the minute to check local route to keep my sanity

    Hi
Normally get a 1.5 all over every two weeks and have for years .
Currently using my beard trimmer on the second shortest setting every week to try and keep it short and tidy.
No one has even said anything so I guess it must look ok?
Either that or no one cares 🤷‍♂️

    Hi
Apparently they come in two forms
-135 that can go to 142 with supplied adapters
-142 that can go to 148 with supplied adapters.

Unfortunately mine are the former so I can’t use them boost

    Hi
I have a set of Torch hubs on a 29er Enve build.
Quality seems really good and make a lovely noise.
Had an issue with rear when the hub shell cracked.
The importer said they hadn’t seen it before and sorted me a replacement shell for £150 fairly quickly from USA.
Had to pay for it as the hubs were a few years old and I wasn’t original owner anyway which is fair enough.
Very good support and no other issues
Would probably buy again although not cheap so may go for Chris King if I was spending that much.

paid with PayPal but not credit card.
&rotor-this also puzzles me unless the original owner is able to get access to my eBay username and the plod have tracked me down using eBay? Doubt it somehow but not sure?

    Hi All quick update
Still got the bike and still riding it.
Phone call from local plod again 2weeks ago to check on what I still had and I told them honestly. They said they would report back to Bristol plod and see what happens.
I’ve told them they can have the bits back that I still have but am not paying to have it built back up.
Local plod are saying they won’t courier it or pay anything so Bristol end are going to have to sort everything
Maybe this is what is holding everything up.
I’m hoping they say I can just keep it but we’ll see

    Hi thanks for the replies
@tjagain-not wide of the mark-pretty much spot on actually.
    Some context:
-Stay at home mum (child age 12-not mine)
-Finished work 6years ago on ill health not worked since
-Has private counsellor to try to help with issues including anxiety depression and complex PTSD and agoraphobia
-Epileptic but doesn’t take medication consistently
-Engages off and on with mental health services and may be on bipolar spectrum
-Has clear episodes of being “well” and “unwell”. When well is compliant with mental health services, medication and doesn’t drink. When unwell it’s the opposite.
-On full PIP for mental health disability and I earn a decent amount. No financial pressures in the household.
-From my point of view I don’t like her excessive drinking, not attending medical appointments or not taking her medication and I make this known possibly too strongly at times (verbally). Hold my hands up to that.
-because she’s non compliant when unwell she keeps being discharged from mental health services and it’s a battle to keep everything in line.
I could go on but I won’t cos you’ll get bored!!!

    Hi
New bike came with SRAM 12 speed and first time I’ve had it.
Prefer multi downshifts of the Shimano over the SRAM so will probably leave the cassette on and just replace shifter and mech for Shimano in due course for the reasons above.
Have to say haven’t noticed a huge difference in the 11 speed on my other bikes and would not be swapping for the sake of it.
